I called the locksmith to schedule a service call purchased. We planned the visit for the following day. Before the appointment, I received a call to confirm my location. The locksmith, Gregory Raskin arrived with a colleague. I showed them two locks that had not been installed correctly by a handyman several years ago. They checked the locks, recommended a different type of lock, and showed me the proper way to unlock the door and turn the knob when opening the door to reduce wear on the locks. Finally, they corrected the installation of the two deadbolt locks, as requested. I was charged for one hour of service in a addition to the coupon for the service call.

The service worked out very well. They were very responsive. They came the next day so I was not at a loss for very long. I paid an additional $80 to the $15 Big Deal.

They were great to work with. We bought a new home and wanted to re key the locks. They came out to the house and took apart one of the old locks currently on the house and it was rusted and needed to be replaced. Golden Key showed me the different quality levels of handles, locks and provided at a great price. On install they had to re-hang a few doors and replace a couple door plates, which they included as part of their original quote. They were very professional and I strongly recommend them.

While they fixed the problem, they didn’t live up to their word. It didn’t include any parts and the end cost was a surprise. They were bullish in their pricing.

He said he would be there by 4 pm. He said it was going to be an additional $135.00! He said the details were wrong and I needed to pay him. He lectured me saying he couldn't charge $50 to unlock my door. He didn't charge me the $15 to come out. He said he could put a lock on for me. He eventually picked the lock (he destroyed it). He wouldn't come out until I told him I would pay the additional fee.

Dan arrived at agreed upon time, was pleasant, immediately got to work. Found that one lock we had wanted rekeyed really required a new handset which he was able to provide at a small additional cost. We are very pleased with the service and would use them again.

I wanted to have two deadbolts installed. One for my front door, and one for my balcony door. They came out the same day as the purchase to do the work, which was great. The front door turned out very well, but the balcony door had problems. They decided that the deadbolt wouldn't be the best option for the balcony due to its location. There was a problem when they finished installing the lock on the balcony door where it wouldn't close. In attempt to fix the problem, they were using a mallet to bang on the door. This was a problem where I'm living because it was after 10:00 PM and we aren't supposed to have work done after that point. I let them know that I would prefer them to finish the work another day, but they insisted on finishing the job during that visit. In a last attempt to fix the problem, they cut the door to allow it to close. However, there is now a gap in the door that allows cold air to come in. Since this problem was not there before the work was done, I will be calling them to repair it.

He arrived on time, checked the lock to see if it needed to be replace. Found out that the spring was broken. We decided to replace. it.

Very responsive. Called them on a Sunday expecting them to return my call on Monday. They called me back within a few hours and volunteered to come over that afternoon. Installed two locks and gave me a very good price. I would definitely use them again.

After having spare keys made for the original lock on the front door of our 40-year old home, not only did the new keys not work, but the original key from which they were made no longer worked either. There had been some slippage in the lock previously, but after one of the new keys was inserted, nothing worked and no key would turn in the lock. I found Golden Key Locksmith Service on Angie's List, and they were at my house within one hour. Dan diagnosed that we needed a new lock cylinder for a mortise lock. He went out and purchased the appropriate one for our door, installed it and the entire problem was resolved in about 3 hours, from the time I called to the time the job was finished. They were very courteous and professional, and I would use them again.

They had to order the parts from the manufacturer which took two weeks. The locks on my doors were old so it took them twice as long to replace. They did a great job and made sure the locks worked well.

Very thorough service. I was contacted before the service call to determine specifically what the issue was and to insure that the necessary tools would be brought for the job. Mr. Raskin and his son were professional and informative as they worked, and they cleaned up all materials and left the place very neat before leaving. I'm very pleased with the quality and the very reasonable price charged. Thanks to Mr. Raskin's perfectionism, my door closes more securely now, and there is no longer a gap between the door and the frame.

Contacted Golden Key through Angie's because keys were lost/stolen. Owners of this family business arrived promptly the next morning, after phoning to ensure it was still OK to come. Greg came in, inspected all of the locks on the house and garage, gave us a quote for the work after thoroughly explaining what it entailed and WHY... in terms of security, cost/value, and future functionality. They provided a firm fixed price that was reasonable and honored the "Angie's List Coupon." Because the job was considerably larger than expected in our initial discussion by phone, a few hours in, partner Dan showed up and the two of them finished the job together. They offered to take or leave the old parts, and left our home spotless when they departed. This company set a new high bar for service, value, professionalism and even cordiality - can not recommend them more highly!!! Oh yeah, a week after the job they actually called back to make sure that we were satisfied and that everything was working satisfactorily. Would definitely use them again.

Golden Key advised a solution that was both effective and economical. They replaced the locks with more substantial locks that are much easier to use. They also installed a safety lock on a glass door. They were very knowledgable and meticulous about doing the job right. I appreciated their attention to detail and their willingness to take extra time to make sure the end result was a good one. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing lock service.

Gregory and Daniel did an excellent job. The front door deadbolt lock was not installed correctly and one of the screws was glued into the door. They spent quite some time trying to get the screw out. They were doing that to avoid damage to my door. They managed to get the screw out but it probably took more than half an hour. Once that was done the rest of the work went quite smoothly. Gregory was nice enough to remove and replace the fifth lock in the house with regular door knob at no cost. Once they were done with their work they vacuumed the floor where the new deadbolt lock was installed and cleaned up any wood and metal shavings left behind Another thing liked about them is they did not try to upsell me anything on the contrary they suggested ways to lower cost.

I called them and Gregory came by very fast. I was very impressed by the professionalism shown by the employees. Gregory performed this particular job for me and he did outstanding work! In addition, I was very happy to not have to pay a service fee because my order was over $200. The employee even checked every lock before he left, to make sure everything worked as it should. I definitely recommend them and will absolutely use them in the future! Overall, I was very impressed by efficient and timely everything was.

Daniel was great, he came out in very timely manner and took his time to explain to me exactly what would have to be done. There was no hidden costs or surprises, as I come to expect with locksmiths I used in the past. The work was done fast, and he made sure the key worked prior to leaving. He did offer to take a look at my other locks, however was not pushy when I declined. Overall I was extremely happy with the job that was done, and Golden Key is a company that is in my phone now as preferred locksmith in case of emergency.
