We had a screen porch added a couple of years ago and were told that the treated lumber used to build it should be given a year or two to age and out-gas the chemicals from the treated lumber before it should be sealed. The wood had certainly started to show signs of aging and weathering and we worried that we had let too much time pass. The pressure washing restored the color to look like new - all the stains, all the weathering, etc. were cleared off. The application of the clear stain - which lets the grain show through and gives a nice glow to the wood was done carefully and there was no mess. The final step was to apply a clear caulk around the screens where the wood had shrunk a bit and left some gaps. That was done fully and carefully. The work was done in the time expected and for what we considered a reasonable amount of money. We're very happy with the outcome and would use Ms. Honey Do again for other work.

They are very punctual. They are very reasonably priced. They are reliable. They come out and give you an estimate. They can show you previous work they've done.
They are very nice.

We noticed the grout between the tiles on the shower threshold was cracked and could allow water in. This needed to be attended to as it wouldn't fix itself. When we started sawing out the old grout to replace it, the tile just came loose. Underneath the tile was lots of black mold and a wooden 2x4 support that was moldy and soft.
During the estimate for the threshold repairs, there was concern that the mold might have traveled up behind the tile in the walls. We all agreed that they'd start the work on the threshold and, if mold was found to be going up the walls, work would stop and exploration with a new estimate would be performed before anything else was done. Since I would be home alone with the worker while my husband was at work and the bathroom in question was off the master bedroom, the estimator did ask if it was okay if a man did the work. I was okay with that but did appreciate the consideration of being asked.
The worker arrived on time and was very politely friendly and professional. I watched him work and he was willing to describe each step of what he was doing and why. When he cleaned out the old, rotted stuff, he determined that the damage was only in the threshold. After replacing the 2x4 support, he reused much of the original tile. Since the several of the original tiles were cracked and/or broken and were installed in 1959 and no longer available, he made a couple ot trips to Home Depot to obtain new tile that wouldn't look out of place with the old. He balanced the placement of the old and new tiles to blend it in and make it look good. This required cutting of many of the new tiles. When he finished, he cleaned up the bathroom and shower floor and it all looked great. Before leaving, he advised us about applying sealant to the old grout as well as the new grout in the entire shower to seal it and make the grout last. He also showed us where we needed to apply a bit of calk to seal things up to prevent later problems.
I've been a bit slow posting this review. It's now been 11 months since the work was done. I liked the result right after the work was completed but I love it even more now. When people have seen the shower, no one notices that some of the tile is different -- they just notice the pretty threshold. I will definately use these contractors again.

The work was done as agreed to and the company provided the needed materials. We did a walk through prior to him completing the caulking. He arrived on time, completed the work in approximately four hours and was professional in his approach to the task. I did after a 2nd walk through when the work was completed. I was very pleased with the service and would not hesitate to contact Ms Honey Do, LLC for other work.

We could not be happier with the result - before Scott and Pat came to fix our bathroom, we had old, peeling linoleum placed over sketchy looking tile. We were pretending it wasn't there - until we noticed that the tiles under the linoleum by the toilet were bubbling up. Ick.
Enter Ms. Honey Do - they'd been doing work on a house down the street and our neighbor seemed very happy with their work, so we checked them out on Angie's List. Pat arranged an estimate soon after we called and took the time to explain everything in detail. We received the estimate very quickly and it seemed in line with what other folks were paying for similar services on Angie's List.
They were able to put us on their service calendar soon after the estimate and arrived on time. Originally, we had planned on laying the tile ourselves and they did not try to "up sell" us for extra services. In fact, both Pat and Scott offered us a number of tips that would have been very useful if we had decided to do it ourselves. Instead, we took a good look at the radiator, the lines coming up from the floor for the sink, and the flange and decided that Ms. Honey Do could tile too. I'm so glad we hired them to do the whole job.
When they came back to lay the tile, they were again on time, pleasant, professional, and fast. They both patiently answered all our questions and were willing to make TWO trips to Home Depot to remedy our mistakes. They did not charge us extra for these trips - Pat simply exchanged the bag of bad grout and charged us only for the cost of the new threshold. Then, they gave us advice about how to undertake the next steps in our bathroom remodel.
All this to say, our bathroom looks 100% better. We will definitely be using Ms. Honey Do again.

It has been a horrible process. They have hired unlicensed, untrained people to perform work that had to be redone, including making a serious plumbing mistake that they didn't catch until after the concrete and tile were put over it, so the floor had to be dug up again and and relaid and they still don't look right. We asked that they have the plumbing all inspected with a camera after that so we know its right, and they refused. They had concrete sub-contractors who sprayed water into the furnace, something they said wasn't their problem. In general, when I told them a sub-contractor was doing something to damage our home, they said they didn't have time to babysit subs. They tried to hide serious, dangerous mistakes, including flighting with me not to pull down an old ceiling, when what we found was dangerous old electrical, that if the electrician hadn't told us was probably there, we never would have known and it could have caused a serious problem. The owner made design choices, like where to place bathroom fixtures, without consulting us and the layout is very odd. Throughout the process the owner was either absent or would call me to yell at me for asking too many questions or making unauthorized changes, when her subs agreed the changes needed to be made. At the end, when I just needed things finished, the owner started saying that things we had discussed all along would be an additional charge and refusing to do them. When I complained about the mistakes that were made I was told that mistakes were human and I shouldn't complain unless they refused to fix them. They put no value on our time or the disruption to our lives that fixing all the mistakes took. There were disrespectful, rude, and incompetent. Several people we have had come look at the work now have commented that they used low quality supplies. I have been through many home renovations, but never anything this stressful or demoralizing. Despite the continued problems and the fact that we are still afraid to use everything, they are now demanding final payment and refusing to send a licensed plumber to fix the leaks. We are in the process of hiring people to check the work and make any necessary repairs, but that just costs more money and time.

They re-tiled and re-modeled our entire shower base. They’ve done this in two bathrooms of ours. Originally, we hired them because it’s a small business run by women, and the experience has been wonderful. They’re responsive to any concerns and if something isn’t right, they will make it right. They’re clean and clean up well after themselves. We’ve used them several times, and we’re probably going to use them again with the next month!

They were recommended to me by the Howard County Office of Aging. This organization is almost 99% women, which I think is fantastic. They’re wonderful to work with! The experience went very well overall. I’ve recommended them to others and I’m likely to have more work done by them.

They did a good job and were very nice. However, my only issue was that they didn't explain that painting our closet door and main doo was not included in the project. I feel they should have stated this in the beginning.

The work seemed fine at first. Over time, it became clear the quality was low. The sheet vinyl is loose, they removed a door with no thought to how we would get new appliances in the kitchen, so we can't fit a new fridge in the kitchen even now. The drywall they installed cracked and they charged us to repair it. In general, they don't give any thought to the design or the outcome.

We selected this company because they provided, on their bid, some additional options for lower maintenance items (like a better grout) that others did not suggest. They were competitive on price and seemed the best mix of price and quality. Some of our bids included the components and some, like this one, had us buy the items ourselves. The contractor picked up the big items for us. A couple of hours at Lowe's convinced us that buying the components ourselves was a reasonable approach. When we had questions about their proposed solutions vs. what others suggested they gave good reasons for their choices and convinced us their way would work best.
The work started on schedule and the workers were on schedule every day. They explained where they were in the process, what was going to be done next and, if they seemed to be quitting early, why they had to wait for something to dry or set before they could go on. They cleaned up every day and minimized as much as possible their intrusion into our home.
We called them back a week after the job was finished when we noticed a small problem and they came promptly to fix it.
We recommend Ms. Honey Do. We are very happy with how our renovated bathroom looks and how well the new components work. They did an excellent job for us and seemed committed to always doing first rate work.

I chose them because they had done other much smaller jobs for me in the past and those had turned out well, but the kitchen remodel became a nightmare. It is painful even to think about it. I think that they do excellent work when the scope of the work is appropriate to the scope of their skills, abilities, time and experience. I think that this job was stretching them too much. I would not have them to do a major remodel job such as bathroom remodel at this point. There was one thing in this whole process which caused everything else to go south rather quickly, and that was that they recommended that I work with a cabinet supplier that they said they had worked with in the past. They only gave me this one name and they told me that I could get a discount by signing a separate contract with the cabinet supplier and not have them as their sub-contractor. This quickly proved to be a mistake. I signed a contract with the cabinet supplier and they repeatedly made mistakes and refused to correct them. They walked out on the contract about halfway through. I had no records and could not deal directly with the company with the company that they ordered the cabinets from and that company refused to deal with me without an intermediary. It was just awful. The cabinet supplier came here at one point and distracted me with some paperwork while they stole a sink from my kitchen that I had paid for. My daughter called the police and they showed the police a phony change order and the policeman believed them. There was only one change order executed in the life of that contract and it was not for a sink. Their behavior was totally awful but I kept holding back since I was the one who signed the contract. Ms. Honey Do did have legal representation but they were not willing to bear the legal fees on my behalf. My only recourse was to sue them myself and try to recover but this would have cost more money. The whole project quickly spiraled out of control. I feel as though Ms. Honey Do tried their best to rectify the damage that had been done but the damage was too much. I am now left with a kitchen that is less functional than the one I had before. There are mistakes that cannot be fixed. I had a bad experience but I don’t want to malign Ms. Honey Do as an organization. I liked them because they were woman-owned and that appealed to me and I had prior good experiences with them and that is why I hired them. I did not solicit a number of bids and then choose among them, which may have been another mistake on my part. They kept telling me that they had learnt so much from this experience, but I became the guinea pig in their learning process. It was always the customer's fault whenever there was a problem. We had to live for several months without even a kitchen sink. I had arranged for tiles to be fixed for the backsplash but they had placed the wrong order and it took many months to get that fixed. I was talking to them about the refrigerator not being properly placed the last day they were here and they just walked off the job saying that they had it. They had thought that the job would begin last March and end in that month itself, but it began sometime in September and ended two weeks ago. It was terribly upsetting, nerve wracking, depressing and inconvenient. I am getting another contractor to come and fix some of things that have been done wrong.
Response from Ms. Honey Do LLC
"Upon careful review of this report, you will find that the majority of the complaints are against the cabinet supplier selected by the customer and not hired by Ms. Honey Do. This customer admits we do excellent work; however we are not cabinet makers."

I am meeting with them later this month to talk about remodeling the kitchen as well. They are very reliable; they show up when they are supposed to and they don’t leave until the job is done. I needed the porch to be finished because I was having guests coming so they worked on the weekend to make sure it got done. The prices are good, they are completely trustworthy, and they are a joy to have around the house. Their work is excellent and I will continue using them as long as I am living in this house.

They did everything from removing and replacing the bathroom fixtures and plumbing to doing the actual tile work. Other contractors would not do the whole job. They taught us about the different types of tile and the expense involved. Before we talked with them, we made some choices that we might not have made. They were able to make everything right. We would recommend that you contact them early.

They did trim work in my bed room, closet door, and did the framing around the floor. They did a very good job. They came on time, and did the job on time as well. They were trust worthy too, as I gave them the key to in the house back and forth. I did not have any problem with them and nothing was missing. They cleaned up the place every day. They also called a couple of times to make sure that everything was alright. My overall experience with them was good.
