A-BB is the only cable service in this area and it shows. We needed to contact A-BB twice. First time, we waited on hold 1.5 hours for customer service. Meanwhile, we started an online chat. We waited 20 min for it and then hung up on the phone. The chat session got us what we needed. The second time, we called to register the new modem (paid $80 for it). We were on hold 45+ minutes. Meanwhile, we started another chat and waited 35 min for a response. A person actually came on the phone while we were finishing the registration and closing the chat. The people were knowledgable, professional and solved the "problems". Meanwhile, my neighbors paid $1056 to rent a modem for 11 years. Yes, caveat emptor, but I think A-BB should have taken more initiative to provide customer service. My neighbors will ask for some kind of credit when they return the rented, obsolete modem, but I don't think they will get it.
Description of Work: Discovered my neighbor had 1gbps download speed and was paying $8/mo to rent a modem. This is the same service they've had for 11 years. In fact, AtlanticBB no longer offers this package. We upgraded her to 15down/2up for +$3 a month and BOUGHT a modem.

Over all, I was able to get what I was promised. The actual work was performed by a sub contractor. My house was prewired for cable. There were outlets in each room. He disconnected all the outlets except the two I was using and removed the splitter from my internal cable box. I discovered it after he left. When I called to get my splitter back, his boss said they could do that. I later confirmed after complaining to Atlantic Broadband they were not supposed to do that. It took a long time and several phone calls to get it corrected. The service (Cable and Internet) has been reliable. I do not think I have had any outages. Unfortunately I do not have but one cable company available.

It went good, no problems when they hooked it up but now service bounces in and out. Once I contacted them to see what was up with the cable and I was told they needed to up-date me. Which they did at the time. I think I need another up-date at this time.

I loathe Atlantic Broadband. I have no other options. Price gouger. They have been charging me a rental fee for the modem that has been broken for years. I have my own modem, which they can verify on their end. Yet they refuse to remove the monthly charge or reimburse me for the past 4 years that I have had my own... There are no other options in my area for high speed internet.

Atlantic's signal quality is not quite as high def as Comcast's. They are generally responsive to issues in a prompt manner, with an average 'utility company' attitude. Price and price increases have become a problem, though, and, in an environment where it's easier and easier to 'cut the cord,' I expect some customers will leave, driving up prices further and accelerating that spiral.

I have had no interruption in service or dis-satisfaction with my internet or download speed at all. I live in an area where service could be an issue and where options are limited to a few choices. I am quite happy with Atlantic Broadband. Customer Service very good
Description of Work: Very helpful in setting up router for wireless network. Offered help for future. I was pleasantly surprised as I had not heard many positive comments. However, I am more than satisfied with service, payment options, wireless service. No issues whatsoever in 5 mos. Recommended highly.

Excellent service but a bit pricy. We get the full bundle (telephone/CATV/Internet). All work very well. 30 mbps internet speed is fantastic! TV service is great - no drops or delays. TiVo boxes (we have one for each TV) is great, although it could use more memory to store all those HDTV shows. We used to have trouble with the Grasonville head-end in dropping channels, but Atlantic Broadband has listened and upgraded the Grasonville facility, so that no longer happens. The same with pixellation - it used to happen, but no longer. I wish they would install a back-up generator in Grasonville though, because service is down when the power goes out in Grasonville. Customer service is good - with Premier service we can always get someone on the line instantly. the techs show up when they say they will. I only have to call infrequently. Generally it is for a line down due to a tree down or a lightning strike. They always repair it quickly and make a follow-up call to let me know service is back online. We like our Atlantic Broadband service. Expensive, but I guess you have to pay that much for reliable service.

Service was provided quickly. Technicians were efficient, polite, explained how to use the new remote control, left phone numbers to call in case of problems. When I did have trouble a few months later, I called and an agent was able to walk me through the resetting of the controls. And everything worked fine.

Description of Work: I just want to give Pat and Brian kudos for coming out and getting my setup for ABB. I'd moved out of state for about 9 months and had to re-establish service upon my return. I'm glad to see that there were upgrades while I'd been gone (wireless router w/modem, DVR Service in the median package). Brian was also excellent with my two dogs and Pat went under the house into my damaged crawlspace (Super Storm Sandy) and got a connection into the Master Bedroom established. They even recommended a contractor to repair the damaged crawlspace.

The Service person was excellent.
Description of Work: Price is getting way too high. Every year it goes up and now I pay $170 month. I am going to switch to other providers as cannot afford their prices. When you call they will not negotiate so I have no other choice then go satellite TV and other internet provider. I don't need a land line and it is a waste of money. At the rate of increases from them it will cost $500 per month in not too many years. They are pricing themselves out of the market. The service performed was to repair wires on the outside of home.

I use Atlantic because they took over my previous provider. I chose them because it was convenient. I am not impressed with their quality. I get frequent interruptions in my service. I will continue to use it as it is the most reliable in the area.
