I am incredibly disappointed overall with this project. We have to live with this bathroom for the next 20 years or so, and while there are portions of the job that are fine, the overall project management, organization, and forethought was lacking, and created both timing and significant finish problems for which you seem not to take any accountability. We find ourselves now with having to call in a tech to fix the dryer, find someone to build and install a mirror, and buy/install our vanity light; and as we investigate further, we are discovering other issues. Also, adding everything up on a spreadsheet, our numbers do not match yours. I am considering my options about this. Below is a list of some issues: 1. Poor match of tile. No communication on tile discrepancy. Could have surveyed tile before installing, ordered extra right away, or at least put the mis-matched tile in a place where it wouldn’t immediately be seen. These tiles are an obvious and clear mismatch. It is the first thing you see when you look at the floor. 2. Basement ceiling was damaged with no thought of repair when electrical wiring was put in 3. No repair of floor after coating it, and not putting some type of sign or leaving me information not to walk on it. Now we have footprints on the tile. 4. Ordering of vanity. You claim that you spent extra on a vanity. The vanity availability should have been researched and/or ordered right away; had we known about this problem we would have ordered a vanity/mirror combination, as we did with the last project, and actually saved money and time. Currently we are without a mirror. 5. Vanity is not properly spaced from the wall. 2 independent contractors have examined and determined that this was an improper installation. 6. Right side vanity cabinet wall is significantly out of square. 7. 2 independent contractors, and one master plumber, have attested that your “solution” for the plumbing underneath the vanity was poor, at best. This could/should have been re-placed in, or very near to, the wall. 8. Dryer lost function when being moved. I had to call a repair professional, who stated that the installation of the exhaust was not done properly. I received no accountable explanation from you. Upon examination in the attic, we found a very poorly installed and pinched dryer vent hose. This will need to be re-done. 9. While up in attic, we found that the Ceiling fan exhaust hose was not installed at all (!) 10. Shower fixtures do not match in color. I am not sure what happened there, but you explained a conflict between Moen and Moentrol. We simply asked for one fitting, and I still do not understand how that got crossed up. It’s too bad now that the fitting in there is a poor color match. 11. Shower water control for hot and cold is backwards. 12. Outlets above vanity were put in with no forethought of a mirror being there. We now will have to move the outlet to accommodate an appropriate mirror. Again, organization and forethought. 13. In our last personal conversation, you asked me whom should buy the light, and I clearly stated that you should buy it, and install it. The next day I find a note on our stairs informing me that I need to buy the light. This of course delayed that process, and was, at a minimum, confusing. 14. PVC pipe for toilet water feed, grouted in, is exposed about 6”. This is a poor aesthetic install. 15. Water leaks out of corner of shower. Grout seems not to be cured, and is coming apart. We will need to coat and seal portions of the shower. 16. Why are the switches for the lights/heater/fan set up as they are? The fan and heater switches are on different walls. 2 electricians noted that this was an odd placement, at best. At a minimum, here’s what is required: · Fix shower faucet controls, and replace with one that is a proper color match · Fix the pooling water in the shower basin · Properly coat and seal all tile in shower · Fix our basement ceiling · Fix toilet water pipe so 6” of pvc isn’t showing · Help us address poorly thought-out outlet installation so that we may install a proper mirror · Fix Dryer vent that is pinched on plumbing · Address vanity that is not properly spaced, and will not allow drawers to open fully · Make square the out of square vanity cabinet · Make square the wall adjacent to washer/dryer · Address tile floor, re-seal and wax, potentially move 4-5 tiles · Labor to install vanity light · Fix non-working sink plugs
