R&L Pressure Washing Painting and Decking

Description of Work: I contacted R & L Pressure Washing LLC about 2 1/2 months ago to have my deck pressure washed and sealed. I had pressure washed it myself 2 years before, but had not sealed it, and it was looking very "gray" and old because of that. And while I wanted it pressure washed and looking new again, I really wanted it sealed before this winter comes. | |When I searched on Angie's List for a deck pressure washing company, I was shown a "deal" by R & L, so I looked into it. Even though they are located in mid-Montgomery County and I'm over 30 miles away in northern-Frederick County, I was in their stated service area. I read through many (or all) of the previous reviews and noticed many good reviews, but also ones who had rated lower scores. After reading the reviews I felt like many of the lower scoring reviews were being on the nit-picky side, and were expecting too much for the money. So I made the purchase. | |If I remember right, it was very late on a Thursday night when I bought. I didn't hear from them on Friday, or Saturday, or Sunday...which might irritate some people, but I figured they are a very small company, and are probably up and out early to work on their jobs, and it was right before the weekend. They messaged me early on Monday morning to try to schedule everything. I'm self-employed so I told them that I was available for them to come by and do it any time...but I wanted it done ASAP. (But really no one needs to be here for them to do it since the work is being done on the outside of my locked house). | |They were here to pressure wash the deck on Tuesday afternoon. I had moved the furniture from the deck, but needed help with the grill. They arrived and said they'd take care of it. After the pressure washing the deck looked great! They also cleaned a bit of the siding around the sliding door and around the outside light, which I appreciated. | |They said they needed to let it dry before sealing it and planned to come back on Thursday. On Thursday it drizzled and lightly rained for much of the day. I did not hear from them and they did not come to seal the deck. Friday was sunny, and Monday was sunny. I sent a message on Tuesday asking when they would return to finish and they replied and came back a couple of days later. | |It's now 2 1/2 months later and the sealant is holding up fine. After every rain the water beads until it evaporates and does not soak into the wood. The only problem is that my dogs think every beading drop is a water treat for them and want to lick & drink every one...but I'm afraid they'll get splinters in their tongues! | |When they were here, they were very polite and got right to work. There was a slight language barrier as English is not the main person's first language. I suppose this could be annoying for some customers, but with me everything was fine. | |Overall I feel this was a very good value for the money. They were polite and did a very good job. The communication was a little slow, but it would not stop me from using them again or from referring them to friends and family. If you are more on the impatient side and need quick and constant communication, find someone else. Otherwise choose R & L and I'm sure they'll do a great job for you!

Description of Work: I don't recall the exact date, but sometime in 2014. I also don't recall the amount although I did check around and what we paid was worth the money; especially for the quality of work. Highly recommend.

Description of Work: I hired R and L Pressure Washing primarily to pressure off the side of my house where green moss/mold was growing. Under the plan I bought they were also going to clean out my gutters which was a bonus as neither I no my husband can climb that high (we have a two story house). The crew arrived promptly on time as far as I can remember and were very friendly and wanted to get right to work. I think they broke my front spigot, but since we don't use that one due to the pipes being messed up I let it go. Because the front spigot was not usable I showed them around to the back one and went back inside. A few minutes passed and I get a knock at the door, seems they can't get their hose attached to the back spigot either. I was also warned that my water pressure might not be high enough to work with their machine (they had one of the smaller power washing machines). The guy I spoke to who I assume was head of the crew was consistently friendly and apologetic, I felt he was doing all he could. However when I walked around to the back side of the house to check the spigot we found it quite easy to attach the hose so not sure who in the crew forgot how to work a hose connection but I was both amused and annoyed at this point. Well, now that the hose is properly attached to the house spigot the crew did try to use their power washing machine on the siding but there just wasn't enough water pressure from my house. It was frustrating as I can't control the water pressure, and my neighborhood is known for inconsistent water pressure but I did not blame the crew for this as the head of the crew was so apologetic and honest. The crew did go ahead and clean out the gutters with just a normal hose and I assume they did a fine job as I certainly did not climb up to check for myself. As I had paid for both the power washing and the gutters through Angies List the Crew chief said he could write me a refund check for the difference in the cost of just cleaning the gutters and the full package I had bought so I wouldn't have to wait for it to go through the office. I thought that was thoughtful of him and I appreciate it. The check he wrote to me cleared my bank with no problems and so I was refunded for the portion of the job they were unable to do. It was unfortunate that their power washing machine did not work with my low water pressure that day, but the work they did do I felt was quickly and well done and they didn't leave a big mess of old leaves and branches from the gutters though I didn't happen to notice where they disposed of all that. I was disappointed that they could not do the primary job however, so if you're thinking of hiring them you should make sure your house has good water pressure that day. Hopefully one day they can upgrade to the bigger tanked water pressure machines so they can successfully work with a wider range of houses.

Description of Work: R.&L. pressure washed and stained a large deck. Workers were punctual, professional and polite, and took their time to do a thorough job with excellent results.

Description of Work: Pressure-washed siding on house, including windows and some of the gutters. Since there was a portion of the house that couldn't be washed, I asked if they could do the siding on my small shed. They readily agreed to do that at no additional charge. They did a thorough job and did not leave any mess at all.

Description of Work: Rough start due to constant rain, but, once deck was dry enough to powerwash, they were right on it. Deck was so bright and clean, it looked brand new. Took a longer than 3 days to apply sealant because it rained again, but when I told them the deck was dry, they came as soon as possible to apply sealant.

Description of Work: So far they are pressuring washing the deck and it looks like a brand new deck! I got to wait for the deck c o completely dries before the sealant is applied, so stay tune for the update!

Description of Work: No show. Unbelievable. I purchased a coupon. He messaged me with a time and date a 9 days in the future to do the work. I agreed to it. 1pm on a week day and he did NOT show up.
