The plumber arrived on time. He took the time to cover his shoes prior to entering the house. The plumber was originally called because our sink was backed up and would not drain. We used our warranty company for the service call. Upon arrival, the plumber noticed that the p-trap had been removed and i had tried to snake the drain prior to him arriving. He immediately went to his track to make a call. He called the warranty company to tell them that I had taken the trap off. The warranty company would not cover the clogged drain service until the trap was replaced with a good seal. I replaced it, but it had a leak from needing plumbing tape or some kind of sealant. So, at this point, my only option was to pay the plumber to put the trap back on and seal it. This took him very little time,, but he had to charge me a minimum of 1 hour at $190/hour. The plumber then got Warranty company permission to proceed with unclogging the drain. The first step taken was to remove the trap that I just paid almost two hundred dollars to have him reinstall. The plumber then proceeded to snake the drain for almost an hour. Eventually, he was able to clear the clog. I would have rated the company more highly had it not felt like they were taking advantage of a warranty loophole, which says that the trap must be in place and sealed upon arrival. It felt like he could have overlooked trap being off since he had to remove it anyway. Rather, it seemed like it was just an opportunity for him to collect more money from a person with no other choice. With that all said, the plumber did take the time to discuss with me the possible causes of the clog and how to avoid possible future incidents. This courtesy and time was appreciated. Many providers tend to want their payment and then get to the next client ASAP. This was not the case here.

Had them out today for an annual inspection. Our home is 60 years old and always has at least one small idioscyncracy or problem. Erik recommended what should be fixed soon, what could be put off, what could be fixed if it bother us. Basically we just needed a slow drain downstairs snaked. It helps focus what needs attention vs. spending money on un needed repairs. Also prevents having an avoidable catastrophy by helping keep up with maintenance.

I would give them an A. I had called Angie's List the night before to get their information. They were here within 45 minutes (the next day), they came, did complete work and had a great service. I would highly recommend them.

They were GREAT and although we paid on emergency basis they came quickly and fixed the problem. We used them almost 4 years ago to replace water heater and expansion tank and replace broken pipe outside. They do top notch work and are very reliable and professional. We are repeat users and have also recommended them to others. The emergency fee is high but then what can you do if you need quick service.

Charlie the plumber came in with a smile and was polite, tidy, knowledgeable and got this job done quickly. I was charged by the hour which is the only fair way to be charged. I called other companies that charge by the job and setting the toilet alone was going to cost $350 and this entire job only cost about $250! My advice: always use a small firm that charges by the hour - not a big one with fancy advertisements!

The increase in height of pipe was fine...erally well executed. For the snake down the shower drain project there was a concern when the snake got jammed and make a loud noise wehn being withdrawn. But this was resolved by feeding the snake back in and withdrawing slowly.

They were very good. Professional. Did what they said. And the job seemed to have worked.

We had a pipe burst/leak in our half bath on the main floor, and it was leaking through to the basement. We found this company on the list, and they returned our call within the hour (7am), and were at our home by 8:15 am. We had called a few other companies (outside of the list, that we had used in the past) and they couldn't come out until between 12 and 2. This was great respose! Very professional, fixed the problem, and was reasonably priced. We were very happy, and would use them again. My husband and I both work busy schedules, and their promptness allowed for minimum interruption to our work day. THANK YOU!!!

I was assigned Gaitherburg Plumbing through my home warranty company and they were able to come out a few days later. We had a leak into the kitchen sink from the upstairs bathroom. They said they would be there between 12 and 4. At 4 pm I called and was told that they are running late and would be there sometime before 10 pm tonight, or I could reschedule. I explained I had taken the day off of work, and I wasn't interested in rescheduing, but I would like to know what time they would arrive. I was told they couldn't tell me that. It was only after I stated my next phone call would be to the home warranty company that had referred them, that the scheduler became more attentive and explained that the next technician would be coming to my house. Ultimatley, he arrived about 45 minutes after 4 pm. However, ERIC was wonderful and he was quick and honest and showed me what he was doing; most of all, he was a pleasure to have in the house and was honest and clean and able to solve my problem within 30 minutes. I would recommend ERIC highly!!!

They showed up on time. They explained everything thoroughly. They were clean and neat. They did a great job.

Overall this was a positive experience. While the problem might never occur again unless there were torrential rains, company agreed that any water leak was unacceptable. We planned to leave town this Sunday and they agreed to make the repairs this week and did so.

Plumber was here a total of 30 minutes. $40.00 for trip. $120 for labor and, the worst, was $55.00 in materials. The materials were the snake and putty. When I called to protest about getting charged for the use of a tool, the owner blew me off. I said I would never use them again. And I haven't.

It went very well. They came immediately, found the leak quickly, and repaired everything satisfactorily. They did a good job for a reasonable price.

The project was done as expected, the plumber repalced the facet set through an access panel in the wall. He arrived and completed the job in a timely manner and there was no difference in the estimate and billing price.

Across the board, their attitudes and the knowledge of the whole group were impressive. They came when they said they would and they took the time to do the job in a way that created the least amount of mess even though it was not the easiest way.

Our old bathtub was leaking and we originally thought we would buy a new one at Home Depot and have it replaced by their workers. However, when Home Depot gave us their estimate, they said the job would cost over $5000, and they wouldn't even remove the old tub--they'd just put the new one on top of it. So, we got a second opinion from Gaithersburg Plumbing. They said they'd remove the old tub and install a new one for $2600--which they did. They arrived promptly to do the work, and when the shower surround we'd ordered arrived cracked, they called around and got another one delivered the same day. Then they hauled away the old tub and cleaned up all the mess. The new tub and shower surround look great and there is no more leakage.

I noticed a stream of water running down my driveway about 4 PM. As the problems with polybutylene pipes have been well publicized, I was pretty sure that the pipe had burst. As I waited for the water company I looked for a plumber that did that work. The office was closed when I called Gaithersburg Plumbing, but I got a call back within 15 minutes after calling the emergency number. They came the next morning to check it out, and quickly got to work. Though it wasn't the easiest job (heavy clay soil, rocks, power lines in an inconvenient spot, and an existing line that did not go straight into the house) they finished the work and my water was turned on later that day. The method they used only required the one hole - I appreciated not having the entire yard dug up. After the work was inspected the next day by the water company, GP returned promptly to fill in the hole.

We have had several pin-hole leaks in a pipe in our ceiling and decided to have the pipe replaced. I had a next day appointment for someone to replace the pipe, but since the job would take more then 1 hour they scheduled another time for me the following day. Both days they showed up between the requested window (10 - 2) and were very professional. It took about 2 hours to replace the 20ft section of copper with PVC. Additional holes had to be cut in my ceiling, but he was mindful to not cut the crown molding and tried to make as few cuts as possible.When he was finished, he scrubbed the floor to make sure he did not leave any foot prints with the sheet-rock dust. The company was very responsive (quick appointments), had a reasonable price on the repair, efficiently replaced the pipe, and cleaned up before they left. I would use them again for future plumbing needs. If my other copper pipes continue to leak, I may have to re-pipe the house...and will consider them when getting estimates.

They were efficient and they have always taken care of the problems I have had. I would highly recommend them.

They came out the next day because this was an emergency. They brought along the heater, hooked it up and repaired the sink. They are professional, efficient and their prices are reasonable.

They were quick, responsive, and very honest. They could have told us to replace the whole unit, but they just replaced a part so we did not have to get a new unit right away.

These guys are professionals. First of all, every plumber I contacted for an estimate said "Sure, we can fix it for you, but nobody will do it as fast, as good, or as cheaply as Gaithersburg Plumbing will. Underground leaks are their specialty." I found that to be true. An estimator from Gaithersburg Plumbing came out the day after I called, and they scheduled the work to begin just two business days later. They needed to turn my water off for a full day before work could begin (so that the ground could dry out), but by noon the next day they were finished and the water was back on. Amazingly, they only dug two holes in the yard, which they filled before leaving, and they somehow managed to operate a backhoe out there without damaging the lawn except at the exact spots where they dug.

We have had great service from this plumber and have used them several times. They have always arrived when they said they would. They fix the problem right the first time and don t have to keep coming back.

Water was coming in between the foundation and basement floor under the water meter. WSSC told us we had a water leak between the water service at the street and our house. We had two estimates. Gaithersburg Plumbing had the best price and is a company large enough to provide quick service. We made an appointment and work began at 7:30 AM. A permit was provided from Montgomery County. Due to the drought conditions making our dirt hard and dry, it was necessary for four holes to be dug in our yard in order to pull out the old copper pipe and replace it with thick-walled black pipe which is flexible. The pipe was attached inside the home at the water meter and the concrete block repaired. Work was completed that day by 4:30 PM. The WSSC inspector passed the job the next morning and that afternoon the last hole was filled in. They were pleasant, efficient, respectful of our property and reasonably priced. We would use them again.

They are extremely proficient at doing this job, with a minimum of disruption to the yard or to the foundation of the house.
