Description of Work: THE GOOD....They were on time. The delivered and installed what they said they were going to do. They were good about communicating over the phone. |COMPLAINTS...It took two men 9 hours to install 1 hot water heater. Some solder dripped onto the carpet and can't be removed.

Description of Work: They fixed an interior valve to the exterior water faucet. I could not turn off the water for the winter and it was dripping almost a gallon per day. There was two parts to fix for this. The interior was covered by AHS, but the exterior was not. I think they did a very good job fixing both the faucet and the valve. However, it may have been less expensive to not include AHS in the repair. If it had been just billed to me, there would have been only one service fee and I would have paid by the hour plus parts. As it was, I paid the AHS fee, plus my own service fee and hourly rate for the exterior portion of the work. They gave me a 10% discount for my portion, but I still felt like it was sort of double dipping. Still, the over all price for what they did was reasonable.

Description of Work: I was assigned this company by my home warranty company to inspect a problem with my water heater. I called on Wednesday and made an appointment for the following Tuesday. Monday was a holiday, but I received a call on Friday afternoon confirming the appointment for Tuesday. I was told to expect a technician between 10am and 2pm. At 1:45pm on Tuesday I received a call that I was the next assignment on the list, but that it would still be between 1 and 1.5 more hours before he would come. I don't understand why it wasn't clear before 1:45 that no one would be at my home by 2pm. It would have been nice to have received a call earlier in the day so I didn't have to sit at home all day waiting for no reason. I chose to cancel the appointment instead of waiting around even longer.

 + -1 morePlumber was there for 30 minutes. Charged $40 trip fee, plus $120 for one hour's time. In other words it's $160 to walk in the door. Other plumbers charge for the first 30 minutes and then in 15 minute increments. They had a ''materials'' charge of $45 for the use of a snake. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't a snake a basic plumbers tool? It's like a carpenter charging me rent for his hammer so he can drive in a nail. Then they charged $10 for plumbers putty that has an actual cost of about $.25 My wife called to complain, but they said they gave her the rates when she set the appointment. There is no way she would have made the appointment had she known those rates. I've never before seen such outrageous charges. Never again. You can find a more reasonable and honest company.
