Love them. I was so worried about leaving my cat alone for the first time after adopting her in August 2011. Then a family emergency had me having to leave her alone for two weeks over a three week period. I will never have to worry about leaving Phoebe on her own again. Thanks!

They are there for 15 minutes. They also will turn on the lights and check on the house. They are really good, I use them all the time.

They were fantastic. They were reliable and professional. They were friendly and great for the dog. They do all sorts of things but I just use them for dog walking.

They are very good at what they do.

One guy came a few days prior to the service date to pick up a key and meet the dogs and get instructions. We were under the impression that the same person would come each day since we were not told any differently. This was an important point since one of our dogs can be aggressive with strangers and the other sometimes hides. When we returned on the 5th day, we found the daily reports that each "walker" left and learned that 4-5 different people had walked our dogs during that week. The reports were all good, so apparently the dogs didn't cause them any problems. We were pleased to see the daily reports. There was only one negative...I'd left typed instructions on the entry table, next to Bonnie's food container in the kitchen and next to Clyde's food in the basement. The instructions (all three copies of it) clearly stated that the last person on the last day was to leave the key on the entry table and lock the door behind them, thus the key they'd used all week would be in our house and they could lock the door knob as they left on that last day. However, when we returned home and couldn't find the key, I contacted the service and asked about it. They said they keep the keys so that they'll have them for the next time we hire them. First of all, since this was the only time we'd ever used them, what made them think that we'd necessarily hire them in the future. Also, why would we want our house key in an office somewhere (we didn't even know where that was) with possibly dozens of people having access to it? We only leave our dogs about twice a year, so it could potentially be 6-8 months before we'd need their services again. I told them that (whoever was responding to the emails) and they said they'd send the key back --I had mentioned that the key was on a blue wrist strap. . The key soon came in the mail-- minus the wrist band that we'd specifically put on the key so that it would be easy to grab on the way out the door (FOR OURSELVES AND FOR THEM) and it would be easy to carry with us when we walked our dogs and didn't have a pocket to put the key in. We'd had the key on that strap for the 2 years we'd had the dogs. So I emailed and asked about the wrist strap and they said Oh they threw that away as THEY didn't need it. To me that is really a ridiculous thing to do. If they didn't want to use it for their daily walks with our dogs, why didn't they just leave the wrist strap on our table? They offered to buy us another one if we could tell them where we got that one. I didn't even bother to respond to that as I thought it was such a stupid thing for them to do in the first place.

From my first contact with Pet and Home Care -- by phone and e-mail and an "evaluation" visit -- all of the staff were positive, courteous and helpful. Every one of the "pup walkers" was prompt, professional, friendly, and a perfect fit to meet our needs. The folks were attentive, always answering any questions I might have and always reassuring in every way possible. Overall, It was a totally wonderful experience with this first-class company. Without a doubt, I would recommend this company to anyone and I would be happy to use their services again. Perhaps for future kitty-sitting, too? Our dog was clearly getting the best care possible. I can honestly say that after the last day of service, we knew we would miss them. And we did!

They were excellent. They came in and took care of my cats, they fed them, they left notes as to what they did and how the cats were each time they visited. They're completely dependable.

They rotated lights, took out my trash (AND brought the trashcan back up the driveway!), checked doors/locks, fed the dogs and cat, medicated my 13 year old dog daily, and took care of the litter box. They are extremely reliable and left notes after each visit describing what they did, how the pets played, etc. I have been using them for more than 2 years and they have a key to my house. Completely trustworthy! They provide an impressive service at a VERY reasonable price. There is always an emergency number I can call to get an update on how my pets were doing. They called me if they had any problems (very rare). I scheduled by email or by phone. They are very easy to get a hold of. Each 30 minute visit was about $25. This is much less than it would be to kennel my 3 pets (which usually runs $20-$30 a night per pet) AND I get the added benefit of responsibly having my home looked after.

Overall, I have been very happy with this company. They are very flexible and respond quickly to changes in schedule when we need to add or cancel a walk for our dog. We have not used their services for anything else around the house, but based on our experience so far with dog walks, we would be likely to contact them for other domestic needs as appropriate.

I loved using this company. Most of the employees are very professional and helpful. I have recommended this company to several of my friends. There prices are very reasonable comparably and they are always on time to the appointments. I never had a single problem with them. I would use them again if I still lived in Maryland.

We contacted Pet and Home Care LLC via email and were pleased by their timely response. They sent one of the office managers to our house for an in-home consult to discuss our needs. She was friendly and professional. We were given a $50 discount as new clients. We informed her that one of our cats had recently been ill and had accidents outside of the litter box. She assured us that the sitters would conduct quick ?house checks? during their visits to ensure that everything was in order. We also gave permission for the sitters to contact our veterinarian if necessary. Between the high ratings on Angie?s list and our initial communications with the company?s representatives, we felt confident that we were leaving our pets in good hands. When we returned home on the evening of January 2 after a long overseas flight, we were shocked and horrified to find several days? worth of cat feces and urine throughout our house. The litter boxes were located in the laundry room, but there were multiple messes in two bedrooms, a bathroom and the laundry room. This was immediately evident upon entering each room by both sight and smell; there was really no way that these messes could have gone unnoticed if house checks had been performed. The messes in the laundry room were less than 10 feet from the litter boxes in clear view! Based on the report sheets left after each visit, there appeared to be seven different pet sitters who visited over the 10-day period. All reports indicated that that the cats were doing well and that water, food, and litter box had been taken care of. Only two of the 17 visit reports indicated that a house check was done (12/27 pm and 12/28 am). When a cat eliminates outside of its litter box, it generally indicates one of two things: either the litter box is not satisfactory for the cat, or the cat is ill. We expect that professional pet sitters would not only clean up such messes, but also consider what might be causing the cat to do this. In our case, it is certainly questionable how well the litter boxes were attended to given the state of the rest of our house. However, it also turned out that one of our cats was indeed quite sick; we took him to the vet the day after we returned and he was put on antibiotics and subcutaneous fluids. Despite the fact that we mentioned his being sick during our in-home consultation, not one of the sitters took any notice of his declining condition. If they did, they should have called our vet, since they had been given permission to do so. Two other minor (in comparison) complaints: In our written instructions, we specified that the waste litter was to go in a trash bag inside a sealed plastic container right next to the litter box. However, we came home to find that the last sitter(s) dumped the dirty litter right in the container without using a trash bag; apparently, someone did not replace it, despite there being a box of trash bags right there, as well as in the kitchen. Also, at the in-home consult, we asked that the last sitter drop off our keys through the mail slot on our front door, but when we came home they were not there. The day after our return, we sent a complaint letter to the company along with photographs of the messes. We received an immediate response from the owner, apologizing for the state of our house and offering a full refund, which we accepted. She also offered to reimburse us for any cleaning expenses. She said that she had identified the two sitters who had not performed ?thorough house checks? and that she was ?highly considering letting them go.? When we informed her that we would be posting about our experience on Angie?s List, she responded that she had decided to let the two sitters go and asked if there any way she could ?sway? us to ?keep this offline.? The next day, our keys were dropped off through our mail slot with another apology note and a $25 Target Gift Card. As much as we appreciated the owner?s efforts to remediate the situation, we decided that we should still post about our experience on Angie?s List, since we would want others to do the same if they had a bad experience with a service provider. It is our impression that this situation was an anomaly for this company; we hope that is indeed the case.

Pet and Home Care does a wonderful job, and that's why I've used them for years now. They never miss a day when I need them...and they're wonderfully flexible (without hitting you with surcharges or penalties) if you ever need them to deviate from the set weekly schedule. The price is reasonable, too. From the front office staff to the walkers themselves...a great experience all around.

They did exactly what I asked. I especially appreciated the notes left after each visit so that I could see how the animals were doing, if packages had been left, or if there were any other problems. The providers were great with the animals. Everybody was happy and healthy when we returned home. I will certainly use this service again.

Very responsive to requests and perform walks as scheduled. Only had one mix-up due to miss-communication in dates where walk was not performed out of many visits. Notes after each visit keep me informed as to how things went. Also appreciate the pick-up and drop-off service that is part of the "cageless" boarding.

I initially had a bad experience with Pet and Home care in the summer of 2010. After getting mistreated by one of the managers, I was contacted by the owner. After some discussion, I agreed to give them another try. They were wonderful, and I know that I can trust them with the care of my home and my animals.

Excellent service overall. I've been impressed by their reliability and the fact that Tiffany promptly responds to requests for home visits. One thing to be aware of: remember to specify that P&HC staff be sure to see your cat - which may simply be asleep in an out-of-the-way spot - before they leave, if you want them to ensure that your pet isn't in any difficulty.

Scheduling snafu on their part, but things went fairly smoothly after that. There was also confusion on their part about the end date of the service (someone showed up for an additional day).

I have used Pet and Home Care LLC for several years. I had an older diabetic cat they took wonderful care of while I was out of town, giving him shots as well as the normal pet care. I chose Pet and Home Care because they were responsive and pleasant, and they turned out to be a great decision. Now I have two young cats and they continue to provide great care for them as well.

I have an old dog with some special needs, and all the walkers seem to take good care of him. I've met some of the walkers when I've been home and they've all interacted well with my dog, and he greets them when they come in. Also, some neighbors have said they've seen the walkers and they haven't said anything negative about them. The company does use a number of different walkers and you don't really know which one will be coming on a given day, which had me concerned at first, but this has not proven to be a problem. Some walkers even clean up after my dog has had accidents in the house before they arrived (physical problem not due to late arrivals or anything like that). The walkers have pre-printed note pads where they check off what the dog did (or didn't) do, whether they filled the bowl and gave the dog treats, or did any other tasks. All in all, a good value for the money and no complaints about the service.

We were very pleased. Very prompt and professional during the initial home visit to understand our requirements, and where in the home food, water, etc. are located. The service was performed as requested and detailed notes of each visit were waiting for us when we arrived home.
