I had a good experience with this company 8 years ago; a recent encounter was different. They misstated the labor charges up front for a simple kitchen faucet replacement. They didn't have any selection of standard kitchen faucets in their truck, so one of the two workers they sent stayed behind (apparently with the labor meter running) while the other drove to suburban Maryland to buy a replacement. When I complained about the labor charge, they reduced my bill slightly, but $250 for labor is still way too much for this basic job that should take only about an hour. For some reason they wouldn't explain, they refused to provide the packaging for the $300 replacement unit they they install, so I have no way of knowing I got the higher-end model I paid for.

Excellent service. Plumber arrived on time, worked carefully and efficiently and didn't make a mess. We would recommend them again.

Overall, both experiences were very good. They were professional, punctual, knowledgeable, and I didn't feel like they tried to sell me anything or make the problem seem like it was worse than it really was. This company is now the plumbing company we will regularly use.

The job was a complete success and it ended up costing us much less than it would have otherwise. I note that the carpenter we used was a general contractor who said that he would have done the job by destroying the sink, radiator, and tile and wouldn't have thought to do the job the way Lenny did. He saved us BIG money. And we'd never have been able to get the bathroom to look original. He was willing to put in a lot of gruntwork, hacking and sawing in VERY tight quarters. It really pays to get a pro. We love Lenny. Fenlon is just what you'd want in a small family-owned business. They are busy, but they are also very reliable. They will tell you when they are booked, try to make it work, but when we have always found that they will come when they say they'll come.

After we noticed our kitchen sink draining slowly, we thought we should check the basement kitchen, which is dismantled for remodeling. What we found was a puddle of sludge around the drain pipe of the basement kitchen sink. Not a huge disaster, but an indication that the stack both sinks were connected to was clogged. I called Fenlon on a Friday, they made an appointment for Monday. (This was a regular appointment, not an emergency call). The repair person (whose name I forget) showed up at the end of the time range I was given. He was a bit gruff, but he was thorough and quick. (The repair person is not Shelly, who will be doing some subcontracting work on the basement remodeling we are doing). Shelly is both friendly and professional). Using a mechanized snake and about 30-40 feet of cable, he cleared the clog in under an hour. We are very satisfied and will definitely use Fenlon Plumbing again.

He is so wonderful! Their price was very reasonable. They are a smaller business (family owned) and really know their stuff. He took the time to look over everything and tell us areas that he noticed that were not properly done from previous plumbers that we've had bad experiences with. He certainly went above and beyond the call of duty. We are getting ready to have him come back out to do some more work for us. He has given us some great pointers for future projects as well. I was very impressed to say the least!
