The first water bill I received after moving into my home (billed by the City of Baltimore) included a past due amount which, after research, had been carried over on the account related to my home since 2008. I had to contact LTG at least twice over the course of 2 months and while receiving notices of potential service disconnection from the City because of the unpaid past due amount. LTG did, however, settle the bill months later in May. Most recently (July 2009), I received a letter from mortgage company. The letter stated that since the home I purchased on March 24, 2009 was not my primary residence, they were going to alter my City tax status which would have resulted in a change in my mortgage payment. When I contacted the City of Baltimore's Tax Assessor's Office they told me that the sale of the house had not yet been recorded and the seller's were still listed as the owners of the house. They suggested I contact my title company. The transaction occurred in March 2009 and it was July 2009 (the end of the month) and I still had not been listed as the new owner of my home with the State or the City. I contact LTG again to follow up on the matter. I contacted my mortgage company and explained what was going on. I received a letter last week (first week of August) from my mortgage company indicating they had settled the matter and I was now going to be listed as the owner and occupant of my home. My City taxes and mortgage payments are to remain unchanged. After the initial response (both instances) I was the one who had to constantly contact LTG to get the status of resolution. In regard to the latter instance, I never heard back from LTG. The only reason I knew it was resolved was because my mortgage company contacted me to let me know they had followed up on it and were going to leave my status as is with my residency. You would think that considering the first misstep with the water bill being unpaid, LTG would have been more responsive with the recordation problem. But they weren't.
