Tyler was great - he knows his stuff, he's always looking to share his knowledge to make sure homeowners can live in a mold-free house. I had two estimates done for the work (a lot of mold was seen in the ceiling of a bedroom, it was also in one of the walls), and Chesapeake Environmental came in quite a bit lower than the other one. There ended up being more mold than originally thought (it was hard to spot evidence for, both estimates and myself missed it), so there a addition to the scope of the project, but it was still done by the original deadline. The workers were great about closing off an area to prevent spread of mold while they worked, and were punctual and hard-working - can't ask for anything more.

Jim came and explained the whole remediation process in detail. Of course we were shocked by the price, but we had a huge problem and it did take weeks to solve! We were so pleased by all the extra work that was done to leave our house clean and mold free. The crawl space looks amazing now and the pervasive smell is gone from the house. Everyone was a pleasure to work with. Jim came frequently to check on progress and explain exactly what was being done. My one reservation in recommending the company to others surfaced when I did recommend Chesapeake to a neighbor. The neighbor had Chesapeake come and do mold testing for a cost of over $1000. We spent this for testing, too, but knew the testing fee would go towards future work. However, our neighbor wanted to have several companies come to compare cost and treatment methods, and they were taken aback when another company said they did testing in multiple areas for a total cost of $300. Our neighbor did not like the idea of having such a high testing cost because they felt like Chesapeake was trying to force them to use them so they would not loose the testing fee. So, I would highly recommend the company and I don't think someone would be disappointed with the work, but if you are looking to shop around first, I guess you might want to get mold testing done by someone else if you don't want to feel the pressure that the huge testing expense creates. Of course we are not sure the testing of the two companies is equal, but this is something to consider. In our case, after talking with Jim and having an estimate and description of the work that would be done, we were comfortable doing the testing because we knew we wanted to go ahead with the work with Chesapeake once the results were in.

     James Mosquera came to my parents' home and ran several tests as there was a problem with their next door neighbor's home that could have possibly caused damage to their home.  After tests were run, we found that the basement tested positive for mold on the wood joists in the laundry area and the sheetrock in the sump pump room.  These areas would need to be sealed off, completely wiped down with a special chemical, and be put under negative pressure in order to contain the molded areas to prevent the mold from spreading to the rest of the house. It was also recommended to have the entire HVAC system scrubbed down and have a non-toxic chemical sprayed throughout the duct work system to help get rid of other allergens, that had shown up on the test results.  We agreed. 
     James was very thorough in explaining all the details to my parents and all the costs were broken down, in order for my parents to understand them. In fact, James worked with my parents in trying to get the costs down for this service to a more affordable cost that they could work with, as my parents are on a very tight budget. 
     When it came time to do the actual work, John Martin and his crew were very thorough in sealing the contaminated areas up, and removing the mold, as well as, scrubbing the HVAC system. They made sure as to cover everything up so that none of the chemical would get on belongings in my parents' home. They cleaned up after they were done. The job took approx. 2-3 days. My parents' were very pleased with the service that was done.
     The cost included a 10 year warranty on the service, and if the home is ever sold, the warranty can be transferred to the next home owner. We were also able to use what we had paid in testing fees toward the total cost of the service itself. The testing fees were kind of like a credit towards the cost of service. The cost also included a final test for mold after the service had been performed.
     We got back our test, and the results looked good. All in all we are very pleased.

I have two small boys, one of which has asthma. He became very sick and we could not figure out what was causing it, so I called and had a mold test done to be safe!
Someone came out within a week and inspected and tested my home, results were in within a few days!
I was given a very thorough inspection and the urgency of my situation was met with speedy service!
I was very pleased and would recommend this company to anyone who is concerned about the health and well being of their family!!!!

When I first found mold in my property I was petrified. I have 2 small children, and literally thought that I may have to move.
Chesapeake was referred to me by a friend of mine, and I can't stop singing their praises. From the time I made the initial phone call, until the project was complete, I was sure that they were the best company for the job.
Not only did they correct the issue, but they gave me a warranty so that I can be sure that I won't have this problem in the future. They even checked the rest of my house to see if I had mold anywhere else.

Well, I have to say, I am not big on writing positive reviews, but, just had to let it be known of what a fantastic experience it was in dealing with such a professional, top notch organization.  From the initial free estimate, to the test kits to the actual remidiation, I could have not been more pleased(well, if the job was free...maybe ;-)).
