Mike was extremely prompt, coming out to assess and take care of the problem we had a year ago with a cricket infestation. Took care of it and they did not return, until this year, of course. I appreciated that he did not try to upsell me or recommend things I did not need, and he was also courteous and fast. The price was good too, compared to other exterminators. Would recommend.

It was a coupon for $45. Mr.Bugs definitely get As across the board. Expert on rodents control, extremely knowledgeable and did not do any unnecessary work.

great. no one got hurt. MR gives you advice up front and often recommends a cheaper plan of action than what you thought you needed

Very well. Mike never tries to oversell and is mindful of not spraying chemicals unnecessarily inside the house, so he generally treats the basement and outside, under the deck, etc. He is very practical and has given good advice to me to keep various outside pests from entering the house, and when I developed an infestation in my basement in recent months he helped to problem solve and then knew that I needed a plumber because the pests were a sign of broken drain pipes under my house. So he didn't try to treat unnecessarily but correctly steered me in the right direction of solving the problem. Very honest, professional, and responsive.

Very well. Mike of MR Bugs is professional, friendly and very experienced. When I had a difficult and distressing problem with drain flies in my basement over the last several months, Mike did a treatment but eventually advised if the problem did not go away, I should call a good plumber because I could have a broken sewer line. His suggestion was good and I did end up using a plumber over many weeks to identify the source of the problem, which were broken drain pipes under the foundation of my house. Mike talked to the plumber for me to problem-solve how to locate the source. He is cost conscious, does not oversell, and mindful not to use excessive and unnecessary pesticides in the home.

DON'T USE MR BUGS! The provider (Mike) came to my house on November 21, 2013, because we were having a problem with mice in the basement. We had had a very large problem previously, but this was the first time that I noticed droppings and smelled mouse urine since that time. The droppings were particularly noticeable in one corner of the basement, which is where we had first noticed them the previous time. I wanted MR Bugs to come out as quickly as possible so that we could avoid the kind of infestation we had had before. The provider placed traps as well as bait boxes with poison. He also looked inside and outside to see if he could find spots where the mice might be coming in. The infestation had been so bad the previous time that we wanted to make sure to take care of this problem ASAP.
MR Bugs told us that he would be out again in two weeks to check on the status of things in the basement. This was part of the package.
As an aside, I need to mention at this point that my husband was extremely sick and going through the end stages of ALS, or Lou Gehrig's Disease. He was at home, and I was taking care of him myself. The last thing I needed was to have to make a call to someone to remind him that he was supposed to come back to the house for a follow-up visit. In fact, my husband passed away on December 31, 2013-just a little more than a month after MR Bugs' first visit. So it was a little while before I even noticed that the droppings in the basement had increased and that there was a strong stench of mouse urine that one could smell immediately when one went downstairs.
At the first visit, we were told that there was, in particular, one spot where the mice might be coming in. There was a tree that was taller than the house and right next to the house. We were told to cut the branches next to the house so that there was no way that any creature could come in. Also, in basically the same area, we had evergreen bushes and ivy covering the ground entirely. The provider told us that this was a great place for mice to breed or for bugs to breed, and we would be much better off to either trim the bushes or remove them and to get rid of the ivy, thus allowing sun to get in that large space and keep this from becoming (or continuing to be) a breeding ground and possible entry point. I had several arborists come to give quotes, and we did everything we were asked to do, at a large cost. The provider had said that when this was done, he would be better able to see if there was any evidence of an entryway.
I never heard from the provider again. Some time in February or March of 2013, I call MR Bugs and told the person answering the phone that the provider had never come back out to the house. Her response was, and quot;I guess that you fell through the cracks.and quot; She told me she would call back to try to set up a date when Mike could come out again. I never heard from her. I called again and left a message, but again, I did not get a response. So I told them that I would be getting another exterminator (at a cost to me) and writing a negative review on Angie's List. Finally, I did get a call, but by then I had gotten another exterminator to come out, and I am signing a service contract with him. I am a botanist and do not like to use poisons at all. I had mice as pets when I was younger, so this is a very difficult thing for me to do. However, I had no idea of the intensity of the problems and the devastation mice can cause, and I decided that this really was necessary.
So take this as serious advice from a new widow: DON'T USE MR BUGS. They are extremely unreliable and do not follow through with what they promise. They couldn't have chosen a worse time to show their lack of responsibility and pride in their work.

MR Bugs came to our home to check out some loose material that appeared around the margin of our fireplace. He identified the problem as odoriferous house ants and advised us to simply go to the hardware store and buy a certain product. He also told us how to use it. A short visit but a modest charge with no upselling push.
A month later when we returned from a trip we found several mice in traps. Called MR Bugs who advised that this time of year mice were leaving homes, not entering. Suggested we simply put out out new traps and let them know if any new population showed up. and quot;Sounds like you have the problem well in hand.and quot; This last was remarkable. I expected a home visit and a big sales pitch for an annual contract or some other proposal. No new mice either.
These are nice folks who seem willing to work honestly with customers. Give them a try.

He was incredibly responsive and did what he was supposed to. The cost was reasonable too, and the termite inspection was the least expensive that I've ever had done. He really went over and beyond!

MR Bugs was able to schedule a visit the next day. He was timely and pleasant. The actual examination only took a few minutes, and he reassured us that the rot was due to other reasons and not termites. He took the time to answer my questions, and appeared to be knowledgeable about pest hazards. He gave us some tips on pest related hazards to watch for in some repairs we have planned, and did not push any inappropriate services or use high pressure sales tactics (he did not try to sell us anything because it was clear he did not think he would need it). Kept his number because if we ever have a pest concern, I will call him again. Thanks MR Bugs!

He came out twice to look over our site before we finally called him back and asked him to do the work. He advised me to put traps for them and I did. Then he came and put his station there. I again used them and caught some more mice. So both my trap and his station are there. He is such a great guy. He has a low pressure and relaxed personal style. He is local and it is him and his wife. He goes out and she answers the phone. They are very responsive and good about calling you back.

My initial call to the MR Bugs office was handled by a very friendly woman. I explained what I needed, and she was able to schedule the inspection appointment within the week. Mike arrived at exactly the agreed-upon time. Mike performed a very thorough inspection (I have training and experience in the entomological field, so I know what I'm talking about). He was friendly and professional. If the need should ever arise for the services of a pest management specialist, I won't hesitate to give Mike a call.

We were looking for someone that specifically did termites because we thought we might have a termite problem. Mr. Bugs seems to have done a good job. The price was very reasonable; he was here for probably an hour assessing the inside and outside of our property, talking with my husband, and explaining things. It was a very nice consult and it was extremely cheap. He was on time and my impression is that he explained everything in very good detail. He seemed experienced, like he knew the area, and has been here for a long time so he knows the problems. We thought we had a problem in a stump along the fence line of our property but he explained that we may never have a problem because termites don’t go that far when they migrate. It was a very good explanation. They came pretty quick after I called.

He does an honest assessment. He is a nice guy. He make a point not to use strong or toxic chemicals. He doesn't play games as far as termites go, which is a common scam. He is an honest exterminator which is hard to find. He does what is necessary and no more. There have even been a couple of times when he has told me that I didn't need a professional exterminator.

While I initially chose the company, because they were local, I will continue to do business with them because of their professionalism and quality service. They were very responsive and kept me up-to-date on their planned treatment date. When they suspected foul weather, they rescheduled rather than spraying because they said that it would be a waste of money and the treatment may wash off or not be as effective due to the cloudy day. I plan to continue my "annual" sprayings with them!

They are very progmatic about the work and will give honest advice about the effectiveness of any specific solution. They know the Bethesda area very well. This is a very sylvan area and we have some unique pest issue. They are very thorough. We have been using them for three years now.
