We were most impressed and grateful when the serviceman advised that there was a part he could order to fix the problem (for approx. $250) but that he couldn't in good conscience advise us to order it since we'd be wasting our money due to the age of the machine and the likelihood it would start to have more problems (and more repair costs) soon. That gave us peace of mind to invest in a new washer instead and we very much appreciated his honesty and professionalism.

Terry responded within two hours to my call for my mother's malfunctioning dishwasher. He went to her house, figured out the problem, and fixed it quickly. My mother is 90 years old and lives alone. He treated her with kindness and respect. He explained slowly and deliberately the process of starting the dishwasher (which she had been forgetting as well) and went over it several times with her. He even wrote it down for her to follow in the future. He tested it over and over to make sure everything was working fine before he left. He then called me to let me know the problem and his recommendations for keeping it in running order. It was a pleasure working with this company.

When I called with a and quot;brokenand quot; dishwasher, Terry suggested that I try a few things with his guidance over the phone. I did and it turned out that the dishwasher wasn't broken after all. The electronic system has been stuck and it it needed to reset itself which he talked me through how to do. This saved me the fee for his showing up and evaluating the situation. He couldn't have been nicer, more professional or more patient. It was the right thing to do and it is rare to find a company whose policy it is is to the right thing before taking advantage of the customer. I will be calling Weinstein again for any repair of this nature again and recommending them to everyone! They are a true find! Good job guys!

I have used this company for several years. They are excellent! They come when they say they will and don't make us wait a long time. They fix what's wrong and don't try to sell us on anything we don't need. They provide advice about prolonging the life of our appliances, also. Their prices are very reasonable and I hope they never go out of business. Ever!

We have been using Weinstein for appliance repair for many years. The qualities that caused one recent reviewer to give him a low grade are actually one of his most endearing services: He doesn't like to waste his time and his customers' money by coming to deal with problems that are either easily handled by the appliance owner or plainly not fixable. That is why he insists on doing a phone diagnosis first. We have often saved visits (and thus money) this way. So sometimes he gives us the bad news over the phone -- your machine is so old, and the cost of repair so high, that you would be better off just replacing the unit. Or, he gives solutions that we can handle ourselves.When he comes, he is diligent and gets the job done if it is doable. I can understand that his phone manner can be off-putting, but it is worth seeing through this to the value that lies beyond it. If you are a homeowner or small landlord that just loves to pour money down the drain by having someone come when their services are really not needed, Weinstein is not the right guy for you. But he is still the right guy for us

My real estate agent referred me to Weinstein Appliance. Over a period two days, we had multiple conversations. There is something off about the guy. wouldn't use him due to his telephone manner and horrible attitude. He called me multiple times telling me what I should do to troubleshoot to save him time. He called me at 8am one day scolding me for not calling him back day before, after we agreed that he would call me back when he knew his schedule. With respect to the washer, I simply wanted someone to find the problem and fix it. Instead, I foolishly listened to him over the phone and unhooked hoses, removed inlets, and cleaned items to confirm the issue. When I confirmed the issue about the hot water inlet, he complained--more like whined--that this was going to be a difficult job to b/c a gas dryer was located on top of the washer. I told him if he didn't want the work, I'd find someone else. Then he got all argumentative and was borderline scolding me again. He may be a good technician, but his customer service stinks.

A Weinstein repair came to our home and repaired our icemaker and the switch on our washing machine. I was very happy he had all the needed parts on him for the repairs. He did a good job with the repairs. The quality of work and price was good. We will use him again in the future.

I like the response time, it was fast. The reason I gave them a B overall is because of a misdiagnose. There was no water came into our dishwasher. From my google research, looks like one of the valve may not be working properly. On the first visit, the technician confirmed my suspicion. He needed to order the parts and said that he will come in couple days. I agreed with the total cost of repair, seemed reasonable. So Friday came and he came over to the house. He checked again but this time he discovered it was actually a plumbing issue. No water coming out of the pipe at all. I was surprised that he just found out about this at that time. I asked if he checked before, he said yes but he thought there was water. He admitted that he didn't check careful enough. I understand that it didn't only waste my time (had to come back from work) but also his to come back the second time. But I felt he dropped the ball so I gave him a B. He didn't charge me for the parts ordered. It was a minimum charge. He was also kind enough to look at another issue with different appliances I have.

Door would later pop open. Came second time to fix. Problem remained.

.They were very honest and effective. He gave me some pointers. They come out the same day and the prices are reasonable.

He responded quickly, we made an appointment, he showed up promptly. Problem fixed. I only wish all service calls were handled so easily!

Show up the next day on time. Mark diagnosed the problem quickly, gave me a cost for the repair. Clearly very knowledgable about appliance repair. Nice guy! Doesn't take credit cards :(

mark was one of the most knowledgable and useful people i come into contact with. the info he gave me was excellent and more than useful. it really opened my eyes. i did not go to the appliance store he recommended for a new purchase, simply because it was too much of a hassle to get to. i went to a local appliance store and will keep my fingers crossed.

I called this morning. The gentleman who answered the phone diagnosed the problem from my description of the leak and the type of refrigerator (apparently it is a common problem with GE side by side refrigerator/freezers). He said he would have one of his technicians call me in the evening to schedule an appointment for tomorrow. Less than an hour later, the technician called me and said he was available today. He came and fixed the problem in about 10 minutes. Both gentlemen were very knowledgeable and very friendly. The whole process was quick and easy.

Two men came. One guy supervised, and the second did the work. The second guy laid his filthy (and I mean filthy) jacket on my kitchen counter. When he put the dishwasher back together, I saw water leaking out from under the cabinet, which he didn't see. He had to re-dismantle and fix at my insistence. He had the foulest language. After they left, I saw that he had put a gouge in the paint finish of the dishwasher, for which I had to call the company back to touch up.

My six-year old GE Profile refrigerator crapped out on Thanksgiving Day morning. The inside refrigeration box was 99 degrees and all of the food was melted or spoiled. Something was seriously wrong. Called Weinstein on Friday morning. After troubleshooting over the telephone, he arrived at my house within the hour. He was very candid about what he could and couldn't do and even suggested that I might have to call a GE authorized dealer (which I wanted to avoid that because the local GE authorized service is HORRIBLE.) He suggested replacing the motherboard (all high-end appliances have motherboards these days). The guy thought he had one in the truck (who carries these things around with them?). Sure enough, he came back and replaced the motherboard. The refrigerator has worked perfectly ever since. The entire service call only took about an hour and the price was ridicously reasonable. This is the third time that we have used Weinstein in the past year and I wouldn't call anyone else.

The freezer was leaking. I thought it was the icemaker so I cut off the water to the freezer. The water continued to accumulate so I made the call. I called Weinstein and he personally picked up the phone and did some basic troubleshooting on the phone. I did not even remeber the type of refrigerator I had. He was very professional and corteous and went through a couple of things. Weinstein arranged a time with my renter and showed up promptly. He completed the repair within 30 minutes. The auto-defrost was clogged. He unclogged it and was on his way. I think the price to repair the problem was fair.

We have used them a number of times both in DC and MD. They are very professional and know what they are doing. They are great about telling you if something is worth spending money on or needs to be replaced. Very honest.

Technician was on time for the 8am appointment and very professional. He tested our Whirlpool top-loading washing machine (empty) in every cycle and could not reproduce the problem. He was thorough in asking what cycle and water level we were using when the problem occurred. After the inspection the technician explained, in detail, the motor type and what had caused the burning smell. Basically, we were using the "small" load setting and had over filled the washer causing the motor to overwork. Technician also showed us how to easily re-level the washer's back feet to help eliminate the chance of an off-balance load and informed us that we should never use the small load setting no matter how many items are being washed since that setting can overwork the motor causing the burning smell to occur. Technician was very honest and did not try to sell us a new motor or any unnecessary parts. After taking his advice, to this day (8/12/2010), the problem has not returned. Paying the $59.00 fee was worth it because we now know that we don't need to spend hundreds of dollars on a new machine.

Called for an appointment and spoke with Mr. Weinstein, who asked me questions that narrowed down the problem. That is an advantage over other companies who use schedulers. Repairman arrived on time later that day, did his own independent testing, and found that the part Mr. Weinstein suspected was in fact broken--a device that controls the defrost cycle. He had a replacement in his truck, which worked perfectly. This is one of the best experiences I have ever had with any appliance repair--prompt, efficient, correct the first time, courteous, and a very good price.

Weinstein is honest, efficient, professional and fixed the problem. My washer didn't work. Called Weinstein on Saturday. Said he was tied up on Monday and Tuesday, but offered to come out on Sunday at no extra charge. He arrived promptly, listened a few times to the machine and took it apart. Said he suspected the pump. Water was still in the machine and he used a small hand pump to get it out. Discovered that a small cloth pill case had somehow got sucked into the pump ("I never saw that before," he said.) Pulled it out. Also inspected the rest of the machine and discovered a broken coupler on the motor. Replaced it. Very professional, careful of spilling water, worked efficiently and put everything back perfectly. He could have sold me a new pump, or even a new motor, and I wouldn't have known the difference. He offered me a magnet with his number. I took two to give one to my neighbor.

I called Weinstein at 10 a.m. on Friday, 1/22, to see about repairing my automatic dishwasher, which had stopped drawing water. One of his repairmen, Alan, called me back shortly after 11 that same morning and set up an appointment for the following Monday afternoon. Alan came to my house as scheduled and quickly diagnosed the problem. He quoted an estimate for the repair and talked candidly with me about repair/replace options. I decided to go with a repair. Alan said that he would order the necessary part and call me the next day about its availability. He called late morning the following day to report that the part was not available locally and had to be ordered, and that he expected it to arrive on 1/27. He called me again around 2 p.m. on 1/27 to say that he had received the part and that he might be able to get to my home yet that afternoon, and if not, he'd be here on 1/28. He called back around 3:30 p.m. and said he's be here in 10 minutes. He came, installed the new part, and my dishwasher was back in business by 4 p.m. I will definitely call Weinstein in the future - and request Alan - if another appliance repair is needed.

It was the holidays (between Christmas and New Years). Most places were closed or not making calls until after New Years. He came out the same day to check investigate a non-working electric stove. He was at my house promptly.The stove needed a new part, but he was able to fix it so that it worked partially until the part came in. Even though it was the holidays, he brought the part in within a few days and repaired the stove. He took the time to explain the problem, was courteous, and professional. I think the amount he charged was very reasonable.

Done promptly and has been working ever since.

Superb . Terry is extremely capable, No one could be better.
