Description of Work: Dave didn't great job on the small drywall repair work we needed done. He was prompt, very friendly and courteous. Will definitely contact him for future projects!

Description of Work: Repaired multiple defects in our dry wall and plaster walls from previous work done by other people as well as some water damage on the ceiling. Did a great job. The only thing that probably wasn't worth the extra expense was having them do the painting of the areas after repair. Probably more cost effective to do that myself.

Description of Work: In the summer of 2012, I began an extensive remodeling project of my basement. Since the area requiring drywall was extensive and the ceilings were 10 feet high, I decided to subcontract the services of a professional drywaller. As my father is an architect, I had the opportunity to review a variety of contractors based on quality and pricing. The Kehlers have been in the drywall business for decades, initially restricting their contacts to large scale commercial projects but recently offering services to individual homeowners. Clearly, when it comes to drywall and finishing, experience is what counts. Based on recommendations of associates of my father, I contacted Mr. Kehler and arranged for an estimate. Unlike the experience of the individual that gave Mr. Kehler a poor recommendation, I received a prompt response. A written estimate was provided within 24 hours of the measurement .The pricing was exactly on target for the price. The agreement was 1/3 payment upon delivery of materials with the balance due upon satisfactory completion of the project. The materials arrived as scheduled. Mr. Kehler was on hand to inspect the materials and the delivery. The project began as arranged 5 days after delivery of the materials. As I am a hands on person, I personally was present during the entire drywall hanging project. The workmen were efficient and meticuous and employed all the steps reuqired for a high grade professional installation including gluing in addition to screws as well as using mold resistant materials where necessary. I was amazed how these young men were able to lift 4 x 12 sheets of drwall 10 feet high walking on stilts. All lights and receptacles (72 total) were precisely cut using micro-routers without disturbance to any of the electrical wiring. The installation was amazingly fast. I was delighted. Within 2 days, an expert finisher came and began the project of applying mud and tape ( a project that would have taken me weeks to complete). The finisher did an absolutely outstanding job. The walls and ceiling were smooth and perfect and no join lines or screw holes were visible. (The sanders likewise completed their portion of the work quickly and efficiently with as minimal dust and could be expected.) Waste was minimal during the project and clean-up was performed to my standards. Without questions, if anyone wants a professional drywall job, Mr. Kehler and his team are the way to go. I should also add that Mr. Kehler gave me some great construction tips to insure symmetry and flow where the drywall met an area where I was installing a drop ceiling to access utilities. He also provided great tips on mechanical ventilation as well as advice on construction of another extensive area of the basement that I intend to finish next year. In the end, I may just have Mr. Kehler and his team do the entire project!!! :-)

Description of Work: We had an elderly relative move in with us and had to remodel a 1/2 bath into a handicap bathroom with walk-in shower, and adjoining first floor study into a bedroom. Dave came up with a great design that included a built in tile bench in the shower and an alcove to house the designer sink that had been a feature of the downstairs powder room. A closet was added to the study.

Description of Work: We have an 87 year old house that had many drywall issues. Dave gave me a fair price to hang new drywall over the living room ceiling, repair numerous cracks in a bedroom, bathroom, hallway and stairway. All of the repaired areas and new ceiling were primed for painting.

Description of Work: We had a laundry room and bathroom framed and finished with drywall in the basement. The laundry room had tile repair around the perimeter of the room. We had paneling removed in the family room and Dave was able to repair and finish the drywall under the paneling. This saved additional work of replacing the existing drywall.

Description of Work: We had 5 rooms that we built and hung with drywall, but we wanted professional drywall finishing. Dave Kehler came and looked at our spaces, evaluated the work, and gave us a prompt estimate. It was not the cheapest, but it was very fair and I was comfortable that they would take their time to do a good job. The estimate was far below the most expensive bids we received. They taped all joints and screws. They applied 3 coats of joint compound -- the first a special type to fill in some of our less-than-professional joints. They used a special tape to give a good, sharp corner of our angled walls. The floors in the main part of the house were protected so that they were not dirtied or damaged.
