These guys are landscapers that do remodeling during the colder months. They need to stick with what they know. The estimate was reasonable, so we thought we'd give them a try. But the old adage, "you get what you pay for" was true in this case. First off, we had agreed to a specific time frame the work would be completed. I was home during this work, and these guys came in around 10 to 11 AM every morning. When the schedule was extended I complained about the fact that they get started so late, the owner said, "well, most of my clients give me a key." He was combative, rather than apologetic of the need to extend the timing. What difference does it make if I give someone a key when they are coming to start work as late as 10 to 11 AM every morning? The install on the sink went well, but the shower didn't. They lacked attention to detail. There were uneven tiles, grout joints that were larger in some spots than others, holes in grout, uneven tiles. During the project they scratched up a Ethan Allen dresser. They broke a shower arm, causing it to leak. They put our shower faucet on incorrectly so that the cold and hot settings are now reversed. I did call and ask that they come back and fix some of the tiles, which they did without any problem. I did notice that after they were done, for days after, there was a strong odor coming from the shower. Both my husband and I knew it was the smell of urine. I can only assume one of the workers urinated in the shower rather than using our toilet. I called the owner and he strongly denied any of his workers would do this, and went on to explain that when showers/sinks sit without use for a long time, this can happen. Well, I cleaned out the shower and it sat for at least several weeks longer without use (because of the issues we had with the shower arm) and that smell never returned. The shower still needs to be fixed--a new shower arm replacement and the temperature controls need to be fixed, but I certainly won't be calling these guys to come back to do it. I'd rather pay a new contractor to correct it. They are probably great with landscaping/patios, but buyer beware if you're looking to get a remodeling job done.
