ADVANTAGE REMODELING CORP

This is a terrible company to work with. The owners are hands off and the employees that the owners leave in charge, just make up things as they go. I contact Advantage Remodeling to get a sunroom added to the back of the house. The sales guy who came out was extremely nice, but had no idea what he was talking about. I told the sales guy what I wanted and showed him everything and he said it could be done. I went with the company and signed a contract. When the subcontracted workers got to the house to perform the work the first thing they said was that they couldn't do what I originally wanted because there would be a drainage problem. So I went with another layout and design. The workers took a month and a half to complete a job that should have been done in 3 weeks. They constantly put me off to take care of other jobs. They said they completed the job but it was incomplete. They did not caulk or seal the outside so water drained behind the drywall and warped the drywall. They also did not add the storm doors that I requested. I had a storm door that I had purchased prior to the project and I requested that they put that door on. Well, they mis-measured and were not able to put the door on. I still had the water problem. So I called and I called and got no response. I reported them to the BBB and the Licensing and Regulation department. It wasn't until then that the owner contacted me. He claimed he didn't know all of this was happening and that his employees did not keep him abreast of what was happening. He also said that he was trying to take care of several other complaints made by other customers. He brought another crew back out to seal/caulk around the house, which stopped the water and he corrected several other things, including the doors. I eventually bought new doors, because the doors they installed, were poor quality and poorly installed. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Advantage subcontracted out the work to a group that tried hard but who did not have either the equipment or the experience to know what they were doing. The shutters were hung crooked and after repeated attempts to get them straightened out there are still a few that are crooked. Contacted advantage about the work. Their response was: "Contact the subcontractor." Now two years later the shutters are falling off the house because they were not anchored properly and the shutters themselves have begun to warp. Advantage took no responsibility for this and we are out alot of money and with crappy work done. Do not hire! They had done some minor work for us before and did it okay but this last job was not professional!!!

When they finished, there were several things that were wrong. The whole ceiling fell in due to a leak and they wouldn't come out to fix it until I contacted the BBB. There are other things starting to go wrong as well. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

They sub contracted the replacing of shutters of our house that was not very effective or efficient. The windows were put up by a reliable company a long time ago. They cleaned up some of the wood work on my front porch about a year ago. They did a good job. Recently they replaced the wooden shutters. Some of them were rotting. They sub contracted the job. That company was very reliable. The workers were very good. They were very well prepared and had the equipment to do the job. It took them some time and the job was messy but they did it well. Their prices were reasonable. I would probably not use them in the future. It would depend on the work. There are probably other companies on Angie?s list whom I would use.

I DID NOT LIKE THE COMPANY. THE WORKERS DID NOT SPEAK HIGHLY OF THE COMPANY THEY WORKED FOR. THE WORKERS DID A GREAT JOB, BUT I HAD MINOR PROBLEMS. THE WORKERS DID COME BACK OUT TO HANDLE MY REPAIRS THOUGH.

I STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS I DID BEFORE THEY REPLACED THE SHINGLES. THEY PUT NEW SHINGLES AND DOWNSPOUTS IN AND I STILL GET WATER LEAKING. I'VE CALLED THEM TO COME OUT, BUT IT STILL ISN'T RIGHT.
