DL Siding and Construction installed my backsplash on April 11, 2014. Brothers Mike and Rick worked really hard to install my new backsplash. It took two days because my old backsplash was so hard to remove. They did a good job except they didn't lay out the tiles properly for one wall. Therefore, when they got to the right corner of the wall they had to install 1/2" piece on the top row and a 1" piece on the bottom row. It looks a little strange, but I put a coffeemaker in that corner to hide the error. That's not as big a problem as the price I paid for my new backsplash. On Feb. 14, 2014, I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal to get a New Ceramic Tile Floor or Back Splash, including Labor and Materials for $349.00. When the estimator came out, he told me they mostly did floors and not backsplashes and that if I wanted smaller tiles for my backsplash, I would have to pay an additional $285.00. I gave him $100.00 down payment at that time because I thought I had already paid $349.00 and I needed a backsplash. Then, the day before they were supposed to come to install the backsplash, the owner Rick called and said he didn't feel comfortable picking out my tiles. I said I would go up to Home Depot and get my own tiles/grout. He said we would "settle all this" afterwards. Well, I paid a total of $540.13 for this backsplash - $349.00 to Angie's List, $100.00 down payment for tiles they were supposed to buy, and $91.13 for the tiles/grout I bought at Home Depot. I tried to explain it to Rick the owner, but he said "we were even." I really feel bad about complaining because Rick the owner had an accident last Saturday (the 2nd day of my installation) and had to go to the emergency room and get stitches, and he lost a lot of blood because he was on blood thinners. However, I think it's important that I should give you this review and tell you that I paid more than the advertised price of $349.00. Katherine Arth

I scheduled an appointment with the company for the onsite inspection of my bathroom. He arrived on time. He advised me that since I didn't want to use their one piece12x12 tile and wanted to use the squares that are made up of 1x1 tiles, I'd have to buy them myself. Also, if I wanted to use different grout that would match my tile color, I had to buy that, as well. I picked a date for the install and was told to call the office to confirm a few days ahead of time. When it came close to time for my install, I called the office as instructed. I wasn't able to reach anyone. I left a couple of messages and got in touch with the foreman. It seems the owner was out of town and the foreman was not fully ware of all the appointments that were scheduled but he would make sure that my appointment would be kept. The installers arrived on time. They set about installing the floor and got it done in about 5 hours. I hadn't bought enough grout but they had some left over from a previous job that matched well enough, so they used that. I had to do a bit of clean up afterward as they didn't get all the grout off the walls and tub. I also had to seal the floor using a spray product. They recommended that I do this about 72 hours after the install. It went on without any issue. I guess my lesson is to be sure to read the fine print. The deal called for "$349 for a New Ceramic Tile Floor or Back Splash, Including Labor and Materials". I supplied all the materials. I guess I give Angie's List a C, as well, because they haven't contacted me about the company charging me for the materials.

Seemed a little pricey for what we wanted. Didnt ask too many details or thoughts on specifics such as heating/cooling options, door window options, siding options, etc and just seemed to throw out a number. They priced out sliding door, windows, subflooring, electrical outlets, adding insulation and drywall to the interior of our carport to make it a 4 season room. FYI this quote didnt include a roof as we already have one on the structure. He also mentioned adding footers which were not necessary at all. Not the friendliest guy either. It was originally $34000 and gave us a 14% discount for getting it done asap. Other quotes we received were much more reasonable and they talked about specifics we wanted and costs of individual aspects

I purchased the deal for 349.00 for a backsplash or floor. I chose to replace my old backsplash in my kitchen. It cost a little more because I chose different tiles. I have to say that I am thrilled with the job. It looks beautiful. Craig and his partner were great. They called when they were on there way, very professional and polite. They did a beautiful job and they were very neat and cleaned up everything when they were done. I will be sure to recommend DL and will use them for my next project.

Glenn and Rick were very professional and got all the work done in a timely manner. We were very satisfied with the quality of the work and their timely customer service.

Everything turned out good. Scheduling was great and we had no issues. They were here when they said they would be here. They stayed until they got the job all done. There were one or two people here doing the work and it took a couple days to complete.

We did not care for the salesman's tactics. The more he talked, the more costly services were offered. We felt dissed that he was there to talk about the $349 backsplash deal, and one of his first comments was "you know we don't make any money on this." He was a nice person, but he constantly slipped in descriptions of higher cost services. I didn't feel this way immediately, it hit me a few hours later. It was not a typical hard sell, but the tactics were verbalized, nevertheless. I didn't expect this from an Angie's List provider. We chose not to go with the service, so to be fair to the company, I can't rate them on quality. They have gotten good reviews on Angie's List.

The offered deal stated $349.00 for labor and materials but when the estimator arrived. he calculated that the job cost would be an additional $260.00 -- too expensive for what I could pay.

A gentlemen came out and gave me an estimate. Very nice and knowledgeable person. The other person on the phone was very helpful and had no problems with going to refund my money. I know they are backlogged with other work, but that didnt effect my change of mind.

Rick was very nice and very professional to deal with, but the deal did not work out. I wanted 29 square feet of backsplash installed (coupon said up to 40 square feet). As soon as the estimator arrived he said the coupon really didn't cover backsplash (it said it did). Then I showed him the 12 x 12 tile I wanted to use (coupon said 12x12 included) but it was not straight edge pattern (coupon said straight edge), and his price quote was $1300 more than the coupon price for extra labor and extra cost of tile. While I agree that labor and materials would cost more, the estimate was way too high. When I asked if they would install straight edge 12x12 tile and I would just pay the cost of the more expensive tile, Rick kindly refunded my deposit and Angie's List will refund the cost of the Big Deal.

The rep came out and told me that they put the deal out to get more work from the buyer. He said they would lose money if they only did the work that was bought from Angie's list. He said that the toilet and vanity had to be remove to do the floor at a cost of $400.00 extra. When I told him a could not afford this, he told me to get my money back from Angie's list.

After visiting our home to provide an estimate, it was determined that the work needed was not appropriate in scope for the Angie's List Deal. I have no complaints about D L Siding & Construction or the experience in general.

I immediately asked for a refund. The price quoted was installed backsplash @ $349 and when he finished with his figures it came out to be $970. Couldn't explain why because he stated the job included $2 tiles which I was willing to pay the extra $4 per tile and it still came out to $740. The quoted amount of tiles needed was 26 tiles. The deal was installation at $349. I was so frustrated and disappointed in the service person attitude as well.

When they showed up to do the work, the price they quoted me was over double the cost of the Deal since they had to move some existing fixtures to do the work.

Excellent. Met with me several times. Installers very considerate - they did a nice job. They even arranged to cut an extra piece of granite that I had left over from a prior job - for a reasonable fee.

There were a few miscommunication but I was overall satisfied with the results. The counter looks great.

The price was very reasonable and the final results were outstanding. The workers were punctual and professional. He had good design ideas to help us make the space work. For the pantry, cabinets had to be modified to fit a nonstandard space, and when they were done, it looks like they were always meant to be there. On the outside of the house, the siding job was impeccable. The new siding matches perfectly to the old and you would never guess there used to be a window there. We are very pleased and would not hesitate to use this company again.

The final product was good but all the subcontractors did not communicate well together. For example the guy who took the template of the granite didn't communicate with the people who cut the granite. So when they brought the granite the first time it was the wrong size. Therefore it took longer than expected but the final product was satisfactory.

Rick was very helpful and attentive in coordinating the job and addressing any questions that I had. Despite some scheduling issues, work moved at a very quick pace and the result was a beautifully installed set of high quality counter tops. The workers were meticulous -- going above and beyond the scope of the job, and thoroughly cleaning up after themselves once they were finished. The price was fair, and I feel that the value added to my home is substantial. This company is very strong on customer service and I will be recommending them to my friends.

I recommend them and will use them again for home improvement projects.

Rick and his crew were excellent. We had an issue with the color of the granite advertised and he was very accommodating for us to come see slabs and choose the one we wanted. Even though we selected one of the colors advertised, he was ready to make it work. I will use them again for home improvement projects.

Granite kitchen counter top installed. Generally satisfied, all workers very professional. Some details below my perfectionist standards (e.g., broken and repaired back splash, I noticed afterward, caulking, a few small chips in granite), but overall a good result, once I recaulked and painted seam at back splash. Creative measuring of area for original estimate was disturbing (corner square areas were counted twice!) and while an adjustment was made.

The price for 34 square feet was advertised as $1,499. Turns out I needed 54 feet, which I knew. But the price became $9,700. That just didn't meet my expectations. Thanks.

D&L was in touch with me immediately after purchasing the deal. Unfortunately after meeting with the installer, the completed price was far higher than the initial deal. D&L was professional and willing to work with us but ultimately it was just too expensive.

I had the company estimator come out very quickly to estimate the job. Estimator was very professional. Did not use them because they came in almost 2x their coupon price, as well as other providers.
