Terminix - Woburn -Termite & Pest Control

Our experience with them has been fine.

We actually solved the problem ourselves so we did not use them. They quoted around $520. We have a termite contract with them and this was a problem with carpenter ants. The person who came out seemed to be trying to make a hard sell; he was more of a sales person than a technician.

I am reasonably satisfied with them. I have been with them for years now, and so I will probably stay with them. I pay for an annual service, and they come out on a regular basis. If I have a pest or a mouse or something, they will come out. They are good about that. I don't like that their price is getting a bit high.

lI'm so unimpressed with Terminix. First of all I signed up for an annual contract as a continuation from the previous owner of my house. This cost $199. When I did this the representative said she would send out an inspector to start of my service. Well this inspector duped my wife into installing a much larger perimeter system for $2500 and a gutter system for $1000 and pest control. Well shortly afterwards we found termites and termite damage in the house, so I called to have an inspector come out. The first guy didn't show up, at all, no call - chewed up half of my Saturday waiting around. I had to call them back and reschedule. The next guy said there was surely termite damage and it looked recent, but since there were no live termites that he physically say (they actually recede when you discover them), he said there was nothing they could do and wouldn't even pay for the damage !! And I had the platinum plan. Then I called Terminix to see if I could appeal. They told me that I should be able to get a repair and would have the local place call me. Nobody called. I finally called to cancel and get a refund and got the run-around.

I contacted Terminix to come out to my house for pest control. I was told that the rpice would be $100 but when I mentioned that the online ad stated the fee woudl be $50 the gentleman agreed to honor the online price. He then told me that if they have to do the work in the room it oculd go up to $500. I have been waiting for a couple of days now for Terminix to come out to my house. I have called on numerous occasions every couple of hours and I keep being told that they will contact me when they are on the way. I feel that I have wasted the last 2 days waiting on them. I have not been given any information, and have been left in the dark about my pest control needs. Not happy with my experience, and due to problems with Terminix I rejoined Angie's List to get help with finding a pest control company.

They were good. They come and go, I don't see them but I also don't see any bugs. I like the fact that you can just sing-up and they put you on schedule and they show up when they are supposed to and they take care of it. They're going to do it again in a day or so, I'm on a schedule. I have a contract with them and I'll use them forever.

In the beginning the service was good, then about 5 years ago John became our technician. I can't say enough good things about him. He knows what time we leave for work and makes sure he shows up about 30 minutes before we leave. He knows that mice scare me to death and if he finds one in a basement trap he puts it is a box and hides it behind his back so that I don't know (of course I do). He knows our house very well and pays special attention to certain areas.

They were definitely great. They were functional and I think they are the most knowledgeable and professional for the service. They actually come in for spot checking also.

I found out that I had termites (someone had pointed them out under a piece of firewood near the house), and tried to get a free online quote from Terminix. The website said I didn't qualify for an online quote, but they could send someone to the house. I got a call back from them within 5 minutes of filling out the form to schedule a date and 2-hour time range (the next day). Within an hour, the person who was going to come to the house called to set a specific time, which was nice. The person who came looked at the piece of firewood, and showed me termites in the ground near it. He looked around the house for mud tubes, but didn't notice any (later I found out there were 3 close to each other, which were easily visible). He then looked around in the basement. Finally, he was looking with a flashlight where some wood was close to the foundation, and said that there was a mud tube in there (not "possibly", "I think"; he stated it as a fact), and said "See that?" I didn't see anything out of the ordinary, but politely nodded. The price he quoted seemed reasonable for the work that would be done (somewhat higher than what I ended up paying a different company, but the other company did a baiting system whereas Terminix was quoting for using a liquid solution). The first sign of a problem was when he said that if termites see light, they die (perhaps considered true, but if so, an exaggeration; in reality, they just don't survive long in light). He also implied that the colony was living under the house, whereas I'm guessing they could just as easily have come from under someone else's house, or elsewhere on the property. I also was a bit suspicious when he pointed out a mud tube that I couldn't see. I was even more suspicious when his report under "Description of Visible Damage:" mentioned the termites under the firewood, but did NOT mention the mud tubes in the house! The 'F' for quality comes from what I later found out. I had a different company come by for a quote, and they found 3 mud tubes on the outside of the house (all within a few inches of each other), that the Terminix guy missed. He also noticed mud tubes in the basement -- real ones, that were right near where the outside mud tubes were located, that the Terminix guy missed. When I had someone from a more competent company come to do the termite work, I asked him about where the Terminix guy said the mud tube was, and the termite guy looked very carefully, explained exactly what he saw, and that there was no sign of a mud tube there. The overall 'F' is based on two things: [1] the quality of the inspection was lousy (missing mud tubes outside the house, as well as some less visible ones in the basement), and [2] it looks like he intentionally lied (given that I didn't see anything, a termite expert didn't see anything, and he left it off the paperwork, it's hard to imagine it is true). It is important to remember that I knew I had termites, and if I hired Terminix, I feel confident the job would have gotten done (and they do include termite damage insurance). However, what clearly looks like a lie about damage to the house, and missing some obvious signs of termites, I wouldn't even think of paying them to do an inspection.

Terminix for pest control. They were good about explaining about the pest and the chemicals they use. There price is reasonable. I will continue to use them.

They charge $200 for inspection alone and $100 for pest control. The initial experience was better than other companies we have tried. They were professional, and they did what they claimed they would do. We just had good experience initially and then they disappointed us.

The services they performed were good. I have had no problems. I enjoy every bit of them; they are friendly, courteous and nice. I would recommend them.

Their service went very well. They were nice and answered all the questions we had.

I have had no problems. They do a yearly inspection. I don't have any termites. They are very professional. They always call before coming if I am home they let me know when they arrive.

They are very good. I have been using them for about two years. I used them because of their professionalism and price. They always explain what they are doing and are always very punctual. I had a problem and I called them and they took care of it within two days.

I have been very happy with them. They come very three months. They were reliable and come when they say they would come. I have not seen any bugs.

They were efficient but I had a sort of fluke. I think a salesperson came in addition to the technician. The salesperson wanted me to buy termite control and the service people wanted to apologize because they did not feel that was their particular approach. I guess there was some internal conflict on how they should approach me. I called them recently and asked them to come back out because of some things I have seen in the house.

I have a contract with them and this service was under the contract. Their service is reliable and has always been excellent. They did a very clean job. Their employees that come and do the work are very nice.

I paid them $640 or $650 for a full year contract. They guarantee that if I find termites after they do an inspection, they will cover any damages and/or sprayings, and so on and so forth. I used to work at a Burger King place, and we had used them there and we had good results there. So that’s how I knew about their reputation. I don’t have anybody to compare their prices to and so I don’t know about it. I know that when I’d called about getting an inspection done, there was no charge for their inspection, whereas one of the other ones that I had seen on Angie’s list when I’d sent him an email had a $125 as an inspection fee. That was applied I guess if I did use their services but if I didn’t, then I’m out for $125. As far as I know the quality of Terminix services has been good. I had a little problem with their punctuality. I had them scheduled to come on one day and they ended up having to come a day later. I ended up calling them to see where they were, and somehow the appointment hadn’t been sent over to the technician himself. It was entered in the computer but he never got the information to come over. Their professionalism is very good. I will continue to use them in the future.

I like that they have a guarantee, and they came out and killed the termites.

They were really anxious to get my business. They were a little pricey, but whatever they did worked. They were responsive and punctual. I wouldn't use their services again in the future.

If we have any problems they come right out. They do a good job.

They are fine. I have an old home so I have lots of pests. They are very good and they come back. I am satisfied. I haven't compared their pricing. The quality is not bad. Sometimes things come back because it is an old house. They come if I have a problem. They come on the day they say they will and there is not a time limit. The one that comes now is very professional; others in the past have not been.
