Super excellent! Tony was just great. Probably sounds dumb, but every once in a while you meet a tradesperson who's just so craftsmanly and in tune with their work, it's kind of inspiring. Oven wasn't heating consistently, Tony said the igniter needed to be replaced. However, the gas was hard-piped in, and the pipes were so old (35 years+), that he was afraid to wrench on them any harder for fear of creating an open gas leak, said we needed to get the gas re-piped with flex line, then he'd come back and finish the job, which he did. No extra charge for the return visit.

I've called on Tony of Around Town Appliance Repair three times and he's been helpful, honest and thorough each time. He gives his assessment of the situation and offers recommendations for next steps. He is quick to respond to phone messages and emails and when he helped me diagnose my dryer issue over the phone he didn't end up charging me anything. I'll call him first every time.

I would call around town appliance again for any more repairs to my appliances. If you check out their website, http://www.aroundtownrepair.com/, they actually post their rates which I find rare when it comes to appliance repair. He was very personable and quickly fixed our dryer. We got lucky because our dryer was from a major manufacturer and he had the spare parts on hand. he also gave me some tips on how to prevent the dryer from breaking down in the future.

After about 10 years, our Kitchen-Aid gas stove started to have some problems. One of the burners and the oven wouldn't light properly which caused the kitchen to fill up with gas. After looking at repairmen on Angie's list, we contacted Around Town Appliance Repair. The reviews seemed honest and fair and several mentioned that he had offered advice which could minimize, or eliminate the need for a repair visit. When I called for an appointment, Tony, the repairman and owner, asked about the problem and said he was booked for the next several days. The repair wasn't urgent, or an emergency, so I set up an appointment for a few days later.
Tony arrived on schedule and called before arriving to let me know the approximate time he would be there. When he arrived, he was polite and personable and was very easy to work with. He inspected the stove, asked us several questions to make sure he understood the problem and then let us know what the possible options would be once he started to take apart the stove. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything very thoroughly.
After taking the stove apart, he explained that the oven needed a replacement part and that the burner could probably be fixed with just a cleaning and inspection of the contacts in the burner switch. He said that it would be a waste to just replace the board if the switch could be cleaned up and repaired. He also explained the best options for cleaning the stove, since the damage to the switch was probably caused by something boiling over, or using the wrong type of cleaners which could build up over time.
Tony repaired the oven and cleaned the switch very quickly. He also noticed that the other burners weren't burning properly and he took a few minutes to run a wire brush over them to clean them up. He said that I should brush them up with a brass wire brush every so often to keep them burning properly.
The price Tony quoted was very reasonable and the care and quality of his work was exceptional. Tony is a true craftsman. He was genuinely concerned with repairing the stove properly, not just replacing parts and jacking up the bill. He also made sure that we understood the problem and what was needed to repair it, as well as how to prevent problems in the future.
I will definitely call Around Town Appliance Repair for all of my future Appliance repairs and I highly recommend Tony. He is honest and fair in his pricing and looks for ways to help save you money. He is the type of repairman that you always want, but are afraid you won't ever get.

Tony came by to see if our over-the-range microwave could be repaired, or if it was more cost effective to replace it. He determined that we needed to replace it. He pointed out that we needed to remove some wood panels when we replaced it and also offered his services to help with the install if we wanted. He pointed out a few other potential issues with our refrigerator (lack of ventilation would shorten its life) and was very friendly and professional.

Tony is outstanding. Responsive and knows his craft. He gives advice on how to save money, whether the repair is even worth it and will call around to find the best alternative. Just an excellent, honest, up front guy. I would highly recommend him for any hope appliance repair work you have.
