I emailed a couple of vendors through Angie's List to get a quote to fix our garage door. Gary was very responsive, leaving several messages, and when I finally got a chance to speak to him, he diagnosed the problem over the phone, and we were able to fix it with out him even coming to the house. He was so friendly and helpful, he really just wanted to help me solve the problem. What a great guy. He will have all our business in the future and we will definitely recommend him to anyone who needs garage door service. Thank you Gary!

They were fantastic, explained their recommendation in a commonsense way (you don't see this often any more!) and charged a reasonable price. I would definitely use them again.

He is a professional. He came out, gave me a price and stuck to his price. I got the top of the line fiberglass doors. He came in, did his work and was done in about 6 hours. I asked for two garage door openers because my sister is in the early stages of Alzheimers so he gave me a key pad to open the garage door and he gave me the finger print remote as well. I will use him again in the future.

Old garage door opener broke on a Sunday. They called me that day and I booked them the next day (Monday) for the following day (Tuesday). They came while I was at work and, when I got home, I had a brand new, functioning electric garage door opener. No complaints.

They were excellent. The owner came to give me a bid the day after I called and installed the new opener the next day. He did a professional job and left everything in good shape.

It went perfectly well from start to finish. The door & opener work very well. Gary is very professional and very easy to get along with.

My car and stroller were stuck in the garage due to a broken coil. It was Good Friday. I left a message and they returned my call promptly. They came to check things and opened the garage for me a little bit later. They had to drive 15 miles for a part and they did charge me for their drive time, but they fixed things very quickly and promptly and the quality of work was solid.

The electric eye on our garage door was broken for a while, making it very difficult to get the door to close. We also knew the door itself was in terrible shape and needed replacing. Since S & S was rated so well, we called them for help. They came out the next day to look at the garage and get the needed information, gave us an estimate within hours, and were able to get in and do the work a few days later. They arrived promptly, finished quickly and efficiently, and even did an excellent job of cleaning up afterward. (I think our garage was cleaner when they left than it was when they arrived!) Overall, it was a pleasure to deal with them. I think the price was fair and the work was great. I would recommend them to anyone.

My old garage door opener was circa 1970 and installed in such a way that when it failed it was impossible to open the door manually. So it failed and the car was stuck in the garage. S&S came the day that I called to disengage the old opener so the door could be opened manually. At that time he gave an estimate and came again a few days later to install the door. He did not charge me for the initial call to detach the old opener. The whole installation process took a morning. He rewired the switch from the old door to work the new door, which was convenient. He cleaned up after himself and took the old contraption away. ----------- Update 18 months later ----------------------------------- The door started acting flakey - refusing to close at certain times of day. Then it just stopped working altogether. After I put it on manual it would no longer hook back up to the track. I called S & S thinking I would have to arrange time off from work. He asked me if it was on manual at the moment and could he open it. I said yes. So while I was at work he drove to my house. The problem turned out to be spider webs partly obscuring the sensors! He cleaned them up, re-engaged the track, and told me there was no charge. All of this while I was not even there! I came home from work and the door just opened. Has been fine ever since. Excellent service.

We really likes S&S and would call them again. The company we went with not only saw the problem mentioned above but the man got up on a ladder and took it down before it fell on someones head.

Overall I am very satisfied with the work. Cost was very reasonable and I feel like I got a high quality product. I would absolutely recommend Gary to anyone replacing a garage door.

A fantastic experience and an example of exceptional customer service. One of our garage doors was opening partway and then stopping halfway up. Made the mistake of calling another provider not on Angie's List who charged $79 just to look at and quote repair and proposed $420 fix including service and replacement of various parts, etc. and serious upsell pitch for even more money. Needless to say, got smart and immediately went on Angie's List and found S&S. I received a prompt response to my message from Gary and a prompt visit to my house when we weren't even home to provide a quote. Gary then called me to tell me that he had just fixed it on the spot for FREE, saying it was a simple fix and that other work the other provider had tried to sell us wasn't really necessary. I will be sure to call Gary when we next encounter door problems and recommend S&S to others based on his high level of integrity and responsiveness!

S&S did the job in a timely fashion and they knew exactly what to do. Their professionalism really stood out, I would recommend them highly.

I've used them in the past; he's a great guy. You call him and tell him whatever you need. He comes and takes care of it. If we're not there, he just leaves the bill and we pay it and I have no complaints.

I had my dad deal with them. It's a very small company and I think it was just one that came in may be with one other person, but he did a good job. My father was pleased. He was very responsive. The door still works well and looks great. The price was fair. I had no problems and the gentleman was very nice. The quality is good. If I have a problem and if I call him back he would be very helpful. He was punctual. He was able to work on his own as well.

Gary showed up on time, both for the estimate and for the installation. It took about 2 1/2 weeks to obtain the new panel, and when it arrived he installed in in a couple of hours. Not only does it look good, but the door operates more smoothly now than it has for many years. I am completely satisfied with his work.
