The workers were very polite, courteous, and did everything we asked them to. They did a superb job and were great to work with.

Rick Orcutt came out and gave me an estimate. He was punctual and very professional. He returned with his crew right on time and set to work. Since we had some time constraints (movers were coming) they worked on Saturday to get the job done. They returned to do an inspection to make certain I was satisfied. One problem area we had (due to a previous paint job) was attended to immediately. They made 2 more visits right away to correct the problem and repaint the wall. I was told that if when we moved in we noticed anything we weren't happy with, we should let them know right away and they would come back.

They did an excellent job preparing for the paint job. They were very professional, personable, and easy to work with. Very accommodating as well!

It went great. They showed up when they said they would for both the estimate and the work, and finished right on schedule. They protected the banisters and left the stairwell clean. The ceilings look good.

Excellent job. Provided estimate and we waited till the last minute to call back, they were able to fit us in on our tight time schedule to accommodate arrival of out of town visitors. My husband is fussy! Even he said these guys were meticulous. Even though the house is fairly new there were several spots on the wall that "flashed". These guys picked up on it immediately and primed those spots to completely take care of the problem. They came and left on time, cleaned up beautifully and the workmanship is top notch. As soon as I settle on paint colors I am having them back to do two more rooms for me.

We have used Orcutt painting for at least three other jobs over the years. This job was the most recent and again Rick and his crew did an excellent job. Prep work was thorough, and the finished rooms looked great. Where things are not right, Rick made sure we were satisfied and fixed any shortcomings without complaint and even urged us to call weeks after the completion of the job if we noticed any other things that were not quite right.

The crew from this company were real experts in this field. They did a fantastic job and they did double coats of everything. There were no streaks in the paint on the walls or the ceilings. We just can not say enough good things about how well the final product turned out. Their prices were pretty reasonable. They were not the cheapest we found, but they were not the most expensive.

Wonderful experience! Rick responded to my initial call immediately and they started work right away. We had a tight time frame. Rick's estimate was right on and they finished the project early. We were very happy with the results. Rick was very responsive and we would definitely use them again. (This work was done in July of 2006.)

EXCELLENT! I love my new rooms. Rick originally showed up to give me the estimate. He was very knowledgeable. He explained that the wallpaper may be hiding some/several defects in the walls. He gave me the estimate and explained that there may be some additional charge depending on the wall conditions. His crew started promptly on the day they were scheduled. They did an amazing job. It was a lot of work, on their part, but my rooms look amazing. Everyday the crew (sometimes one man and sometimes two) left my house very neat. I have no complaints. Can't wait to have them back to make the rest of my house look so beautiful. The additional cost for all the wall repair was nominal (less than $300). I am very pleased. The walls and trim look beautiful.

Rick is wonderful to work with - a complete class act from start to finish. He coordinated directly with another contractor to get both jobs done on our time line, and everything went smoothly - in fact, Rick finished well ahead of schedule. The quality of his work was excellent, we were very impressed. Rick and his crew were very conscientious, cleaning up daily throughout the project, even though we weren't yet living in the house. We will absolutely call Rick to do our painting when we decide on colors. In terms of price, we received 3 estimates, and Rick's was the best. He came in right on the money - no surprises.

I called Rick to ask him about getting an estimate for partially painting the interior of my home as well as some exterior work. Right away he told me it was too cold to paint outside & just wouldn't feel right about doing the job, since it most likely wouldn't last. We set up an appt, & he came to my house right on time. We talked about the work I wanted done in preparation for the sale of my home. He steered me away from doing too much and instead focused on what he thought must be done in order to show the house. He gave me an estimate that was completely broken down by room, so I could pick & choose which rooms I wanted to do if the estimate ended up coming in too high for us (which it did not). The day they were scheduled to start at 8am was the day after Valentine's when all schools were closed and no one was driving. I couldn't believe it when Rick and Ray arrived at 8:00am!! They did a great job. Rick has already been out to our new house & will start in March.

Rick was professional in all aspects of the job. He provided a prompt and accurate quote and was available via phone for any questions I had before, during, or after the job. His crew was prompt, stayed on the job until it was finished, and cleaned up the work site each day. The paint job was excellent. I would highly recommend Rick. They washed down the walls after removing the paper, filled all visible imperfections, sanded, then primed. That brought out even more imperfections. More filling, sanding, and first finish coat. The painter still didn't like what he saw and once again filled some more, sanded, and put on finish coat number two. He also took the time to fix where a rounded wall met a ceiling. He turned a wavy, uneven joint into a nice crisp one. After the job was finished, Rick came by to walk through the job with me to be sure I was satisfied. If you are looking for someone to throw up some paint and get out quick and cheap, don't call Orcutt. These guys are true craftsmen and take their time to get the desired results. Believe me, they are well worth the money.

Job was only finished a few days ago, so we do not know whether repair of water damage and peeling was long-lasting; so far, we are completely satisfied.

After a few estimates, we decided to go with Orcutt because of their great reputation and location in our town, and we feel sure made the right choice. They attended to every detail, including sanding and priming our woodwork (which was in really bad shape) and restoring our stairway, which consisted of cracked horsehair plaster covered in very stubborn wallpaper. I mean to tell you, these guys were miracle workers. It now looks like a totally different house. The team was very courteous and polite, we totally trusted them in our place and they treated it as if it were their own. They even put up with our barking dogs with patience and good humor. If we had any minor concerns or questions over the course of the job, we just called Rick and he'd set everything right. All in all, it was an A1 production from start to finish, and we wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone.

I have always painted myself but after this experience, I am going to use orchid painting dining room looks fabulous and I can see the quality of the work. FANTASTIC is not enough to describe it. Mr. Orcutt and his men are the nicest people and their work ethic is beyond good. They worked very hard and my walls were difficult. I had put so many samples on the wall before I decided, they had to really prime them. In addition, the walls seemed to just eat up the paint and I think they needed three coats and not the two Mr. orcutt quoted on. I told him he needed to charge more because of this and it took 1 and 1/2 more days. His additional cost of $260 wasn't even enough in my opinion and extremely fair. I cannot recommend this company enough.

Rick Orcutt arrived punctually and looked at the work to be done. His estimate was in my hands in 24 hrs. He detailed all the work that would be done and gave a good price. We scheduled for a month out because of his bookings. The work was started early because one of his clients had other contractor issues so my job got moved up, which was a stroke of luck! The first day Rick, his manager and a crew arrived. He reviewed the expectations with his whole group and they started. They were very respectful, professional, capable workers. I removed the precious items and they took care of everything else. They were incredibly neat everyday. They worked efficiently and were very attentive. Any questions were immediately addressed and resolved. I couldn't have been happier. They worked with the carpenter on the molding project and I didn't have to be a go-between. It was a relaxed no worries project and I hate to give them such a glowing recommendation when they may get too busy for my jobs!

Hiring Rick Orcutt and his crew was definitely one of the best contracting experiences we have had in our 33 years living in our home. Rick was extremely prompt in returning my call to get an estimate, and always made himself available for any questions during the course of the project. His crew headed by Jessmer were very friendly and eager to please. It was refreshing to have workmen around who seemed genuinely to enjoy what they were doing! Rick never shirked from addressing any of our concerns; it is very clear that pleasing his customer is his top priority. In our opinion Rick Orcutt is what other contractors should strive to be: prompt, courteous, attentive, and professional. We recommend him with enthusiasm! You will not be disappointed!

This is the second time we have used Orcutt, and I was equally happy. They started the project on time, asked for clear directions, were patient when I ended up changing my mind on the kitchen color, and worked quickly and neatly.

They did a great job! We have used Orcutt Painting twice before and loved their work each time. My husband and I think so highly of Rick and his crew, that we won't use anyone else. Unlike a lot of painting companies, Rick understands that painting is only part of the job. He cares a lot about the customers' needs and concerns and is extremely reliable and trust-worthy. When we had a problem this job with our plasterer (from another company), Rick encouraged us to bring back the plasterer (and spoke to him over the phone) so he could do a better job before Rick's team began. We so appreciated Rick's willingness to go to bat for us, even though he didn't have to. And he worked hard to get us back into his busy schedule, since we were delayed by the plasterer. We like and trust Rick so much, we've referred him to friends, and plan to have his crew back in a month for some additional work. We can't recommend him enough!

The people who worked for him were really considerate and really thorough. I felt that they cared about the work and especially when they were doing my interior painting that they really cared about the work. They were very skilled.

They do very nice work and are professional about it. The job took a few days longer than expected, but it wasn't a big deal and the rooms look great. A nice bonus is that they will put color samples on your walls a few weeks before the job, so you can see what the colors might look like. Highly recommended.

After reading all the glowing reports on Angie's List we were disappointed. To be fair, our job was not easy, the building is old and there were delays due to other work going on. So I won't comment on anything that could have been the result of the work environment. Rick's fee quote came in lower than the others, and his crew is friendly. They made some good suggestions about color and finish (we appreciate that). They were pleasant even when we had to call them back several times for follow up. But we found the work to be sloppy. They didn't put down drop cloths and said they assumed we were going to refinish the floors (they had already been done, we had to redo them again). Small paint flecks got on the floors, furniture etc. The spray work on the molding wasn't adequate and had to be redone by brush. Flecks of wall colored paint got on the window frames and drips of trim paint got on the glass etc. We ended up with a good result but it took a lot of oversight on our part.
