Great! Rick was very friendly and knowledgeable when he came to look at the place. I was glad when his estimate was the lowest (actually significantly lower than the other estimate I had gotten). The price was about 1/3 ceiling, 1/3 walls, 1/3 trim, if you're interested. Rick gave me good advice, didn't try to oversell me, and was easy to work with. His partner Ray supervised the job, and he was great, and didn't appear to mind my probably silly questions or requests (this is the first time I'd hired someone to paint for me). They completed the work exactly when they said they would and they couldn't have been more considerate. The place was very clean every night. Whenever I decide to sell my condo, I have two more horrible-looking ceilings to take care of before I let buyers in the door, and I will definitely hire Orcutt again.

Rick came to give me an estimate himself and was very helpful. He pointed out where we might not have to do work and also suggested we should wait to do the last coat on stairwells until after our movers had taken furniture up the stairs in case any damage was done. We decided that we would paint a few rooms to save money and Rick helped us understand how much money would save if we did that which was helpful and he did not give us a hard time about it. When the painters came they were quick, efficient, and did an excellent job. The walls are smooth and the painting was precise. They did leave some dust after leaving, but nothing beyond what you might expect. They also came back to do the stairwells although they made a mistake and painted them all the wrong color. Give them credit though, they came back immediately (on Christmas Eve day no less) to fix the problem with no hassle and lots of apologies. I was impressed with them, despite the mix up with the paint color.

Rick and the other members of the company were very professional and customer service oriented. Always on time, easy to reach, returned phone calls promptly and performed excellent work. They were very diligent in their work and did a great job making sure that there was a minimum amount of disruption to the household and cleaned up after themselves. We had this work performed mostly in the 2 weeks prior to Christmas week so it was not always easy to work around everything else that was going on but they did a good job. All work was completed to our satisfaction.

Showed up on time (unlike the competition, which rhymes with Babe Tickle) and sent an estimate right away, unlike the competition. The estimate was also significantly less than the other one I received. Also showed up on time on the day of the job, and did a nice job repairing the walls. Worked VERY CLEAN; this is a pet peeve of mine, and they were EXCELLENT in how they kept paint off floors and woodwork, and thoroughly cleaned up when done. It was like they weren't even there - fantastic. They did a nice job painting and were responsive to any imperfections. There was a bit of a mix-up with the low-VOC paint I wanted to use, in that they didn't plan ahead & couldn't get the paint on the day they were supposed to start painting, and then ended up using the wrong gloss. I was worried there'd be a problem resolving it, but they were VERY responsive and came out and put on a new coat of the correct gloss. Despite those minor incidents, they did a great job & the service was impressive.

Rick and Edson could not have been more professional and helpful. When Rick arrived to give me an estimate, he made recommendations to minimize the cost of the job such as leaving the trim and woodwork as they were (they had been recently painted white) and matching the color of the more expensive paint I had chosen for the bedroom using Benjamin Moore. Rick was respectful of my choices but offered options at every point to make sure I would be satisfied with the cost and work. I'm an inherently messy person, but Rick and Edson and their team worked around my clutter to deliver a gorgeous end product. They covered all of my stuff effectively so that it wouldn't get paint splatter, and every evening they returned the living room to a comfortable state. I contracted food poisoning mid-way through the job - Edson was great about rescheduling for two days in a row on short notice. The work was completed quickly and well and on estimate - great company and great guys.

They did a wonderful job. Called me back, came out to provide an estimate and did so within a couple of days. When I hired them, they showed up on time. Did a great job. I will definitely use them again for more painting jobs.

Rick returned my call immediately to schedule a walk through and estimate. He gave recommendations for the work needed and a realistic time frame for the work to begin. His estimate was returned promptly and we scheduled the work to being a few weeks later. From encouraging me to consider wall colors early to accommodating my family through the project, Rick and his team were professional, thorough, and detail oriented. They cleaned as they went, were on-time and on task each day, and maximized time well. The estimates of time needed and costs were right on - no surprises. We are very pleased with the results of this project - our walls and trim needed much work, especially in preparation before painting, and the house now looks amazing.

I read Orcutt's reports on the list and called them for an estimate. One reason I called them is that they are a small, local company. They came promptly for the estimate. I liked Mr. Orcutt; his manner was both professional and friendly, he asked me good questions and his estimate was good. I did not hire him only because a painter recommended by a friend, who has used him multiple times, gave me an even lower estimate and I had seen his work in my friend's house.

What I liked the most about them was the quality of their work and their excellent workmanship. I am using them again now on my garage and shed. They started today and they will be done in around one week.

The work crew was very pleasant and took great pride in their work. The on-site head painter/foreman was especially pleasant to work with. There were a few of the usual issues that are bound to happen with any job (paint splatter, missed edge, etc.) but they were promptly corrected when pointed out. We also worked out a fair compromise when the master bedroom was painted the wrong color (a brick red) because I provided the wrong color code. Note to those unfamiliar with renovations, always make sure to provide the paint chip along with the color code!

Rick Orcutt is extremely professional, gave us excellent advice on the project. The foreman and painters were very well-trained and very polite. Excellent daily clean-up and communication with us along the way. Very dedicated to doing high quality work. The accommodated some last minute additions to scope at very reasonable additional costs.

Rick was very professional in assessing the job, making sure I understood the work to be undertaken, the timing, and communication. He and his workers were on time, professional, and clean. The job was completed with one coat as specified in about two days. Upon inspection, we determined that one coat had not provided adequate coverage, so Rick's workers returned and applied a second coat at no additional charge. I am very pleased with the work Rick and his team did, and am currently having them prepare an estimate to paint the whole exterior of my house. I recommend them wholeheartedly.

Rick was extremely professional and helpful. Most importantly, from showing up for the initial quote through the entire job, he and his crew actually showed up when they said they would! They did a great job. Rick gave good advice on scoping the job, e.g. leaving the ceilings alone because they were in good shape. He broke out the basement and closets separately so I could see how much it would cost and decide based on my budget how much to have done. On the job itself his crews were professional, meticulous, and cleaned up after themselves each day. The work looks great! They followed up on some touch up and minor items and made sure I was satisfied. I'd highly recommend these guys. I was skeptical at first being new to Angie's List but was very pleasantly surprised. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them and (not that I'll need it for a while) use them again!

They are super neat with their work. They don't leave anything behind and there are no mistakes on any of the walls. They did a great job for us and I am very pleased with the service. I would recommend them.

Absolutely A+, they were outstanding. They met a firm deadline, because the sale of my condo was closing. This was the second time that I have used this company.

"Ray" managed the project. The work was done rapidly and professionally, and to my great satisfaction. And the cost was extremely reasonable. I would certainly use them again (and am about to).

This is the second time I have used Orcutt painting and I am as pleased as I was when they did my dining room. I plan to use them when their schedule allows for two halls and about four interior doors. I wanted to start the exterior but rick told me it was too late and we should do it in the spring. I love this company and all the people involved. Rick is an honest contractor, and you will trust and like him from the moment you meet him. I don't know where he gets his workers but they are always neat, nice and professional. They never ever do a slipshod job. If there is a problem they always know how to work it out and the results are great. I cannot recommend these guys enough and if Rick's schedule may have you waiting a few weeks, even a month, they are so well worth it!!

They were wonderful from beginning to end. Very professional and on time. Did great work and then cleaned up the workspace thoroughly. And their price was in line with other estimates. I plan to work with them again for any painting inside or outside that we may need.

We had received three estimates and Orcutt Painting was the best estimate. Rick was very informative and thorough during our initial bid. The work was quoted as being four to five days of work and they were finished at noon on the fourth day. Ray was our project manager and he did a good job. We were especially pleased with the cleanliness and attention to detail.

Because of Orcutt Painting's excellent reputation on the list, I chose Rick despite his higher price. I was disappointed and angry to have the job passed off to a "partner" who had never been mentioned before. Had I known from the start that Rick wasn't going to be in charge, I would have made a different choice. In the end, the house looks good. The two painters who did the job were good workers, cheerful individuals, and cleaned up well at the end of every day. I'm happy to have the job completed, but once again I learned a lesson from my experience with hiring a home improvement contractor. Even paying top dollar for a service and trying to be as careful and educated as possible, things don't always go as one might hope.

They did an excellent job. Very professional, worked fast and clean. Very accommodating as well. We are very happy with their work!!!

Tremendous experience. This company was professional and courteous from the estimate process through final walk-through. I was skeptical about picking a company from the top of Angie's List, but Orcutt did not let us down. They were extremely thorough in their preparation, cleaned up every day and the painters who lived with our family for the better part of a month where unbelievably polite. The home looks great and quite possibly for the first time we have actually had a contractor exceed our expectations. We would highly recommend Orcutt Painting to anyone.
