Overall my experience was great. Rick was quick to get back to me and schedule an estimate. He gave me options because I was worried the whole job might be too expensive (it wasn't). And the work itself was scheduled quickly and executed perfectly and efficiently. The foreman and painters were also excellent and they minimized the disruption in the house. I wouldn't hesitate to have them back for the next project.

Rick was great. We had 38 new windows installed and needed someone to paint some of them and stain some of them. We were able to quickly arrange a time for him to come look at the job. He was knowledgeable and not pushy and referred us to other people for services that he didn't provide. He explained that it would be difficult to match the stained wood to the existing casings and gave us some instructions on how to best determine the stain to use. His estimate was in the range of others. His crew came by and did the job in about 4.5 days. They left the house very clean. They did a really good job matching the new window stain to the existing casings, and the painted windows look good. On one set of windows the first coat of stain was not properly wiped off. We called Rick and he had his crew fix the stain; the end product looks great. The painted muntin-to-glass transition was crisp. At the end of the job he came by and walked thru the house with us to discuss any remaining issues we might have. We are very happy and will use him again on some other interior\exterior painting.

Let me start by saying that Rick Orcutt is by far one of the best contractors that I have ever had the pleasure to work with. We purchased a new home right before Christmas and the walls were hideous. There was an ornamental mantle piece that had been screwed into one of the walls and it was awful. The first day we took ownership I ripped it off the wall, which lead to a huge portion of the drywall needing to be repaired. The colors of the rooms were disgusting, and all of the trim work were in tough shape. I called a number of painting contractors and met with them all. Rick was one of the contractors who I called. My first impression was that he was a detailed individual. He had a calm demeanor and seemed to be very experienced in what he was doing. He walked through the entire house asking me lots of questions (what I felt about doing this, that, if I had colors in mind, etc...) He wasn't trying to sell me extra work, rather he wanted to make sure that the quote that he would eventually give me would not include any extras after the fact. Originally we agreed on a price to just repair the walls in 3 rooms and the stairs and paint those areas. While his quote was not the lowest (it was pretty much in the middle) I just got this really good vibe from him when he came to meet me. After talking to the other contractors that showed up to look at the job I could tell that he knew his stuff and would give us the quality that we were looking for. After reviewing the quote with my girlfriend we decided that we wanted to add some additional items (trim around all windows, doors, baseboards, baseboard heating, and doors. This was a significant add-on but Rick was able to come back with a reasonable price to add this work to the job. He was able to complete the job well within the timeframe that we asked for. There were days that I would show up to the job and they would have 5-6 people working on it. They were able to knock out the work and they took extra care to protect the brand new hardwood floors that we put down. I did a number of walk-throughs with Rick as the job progressed to say whether I liked/disliked certain things. Rick was able to accommodate all of the changes that we were looking for and still get the job completed on time. We've now been in the home for a few weeks and we absolutely love it. And to top it off I stupidly dinged a wall with a piece of furniture after the painting was done when we were moving in. Rick came back to look at it and gave me advice on how I could fix it myself in order to save me from paying him to fix it. I just feel like I have a painter for the rest of my life and any time I have a question or need advice on a job he'll be available to help me. For someone that isn't very good at home improvement jobs this feels really good. I've already recommended him to a number of people and will continue to going forward.

The job was done right from start to finish. Estimate was good and provided detailed outline of everything they would do. I hired Rick and his guys did a great job. The fact is that we are picky and I am writing this several months after the job and we are still very happy.

Rick Orcutt was extremely responsive. He came by within three days of talking on the phone to give us an estimate. Following the visit, he got the actual estimate to me in under 36 hours. The painting took place in under two weeks and the delay was on my end, not theirs. The painting was done by a gentleman who works for RIck; it was done exceptionally fast and well. We are so pleased with the process and the end result and would recommend Orcutt painting to anyone. To top it off, the day after the painting Rick called personally to ensure we were happy with the results and insisting we call anytime in the coming weeks if something related to the painting popped up.

Rick contacted me immediately and scheduled for an estimate. He was punctual, professional, and gave me an estimate quickly.On the first work day, he was there with his crew to go over the job before the crew started. He walked thru with me when it was done. They did a great job in a timely fashion.

oo I called for an estimate 2 days before christmas as I had a few days off between holidays .Rick was on time and sent me an estimate on Christmas eve which I thought was great considering it was a holiday and that he wanted to do the job. I got back to him on Monday and his crew started on Wednesday. He told me it would take 3 days and would not rush the job and if it took and extra day he would finish it on a Saturday. The crew showed up on time every day they were very neat and they cleaned up every day to make it terrific job well done. My next painting project the first person I will call is Orcutt Painting.

Rick and his crew were punctual, professional, and most importantly took great care with our household. The painting was spectacular with all cuts, corners and trim done perfectly. I've painting 95% of my house myself and have very specific requirements for edging, etc.. Rick and his crew exceeded all expectations and everything, including cleanup, was done perfectly. If it weren't for the painted walls you wouldn't be able to tell that they were here!

They were incredibly professional. The room was cleaner after they finished than before they started. The crew even put our furniture back in place for us when they were done. The quality of work was great. Not a stray drop of paint anywhere. After the project, Rick and his manager ,Ray, both called to check in and see what we thought of the work. Overall, I was very satisfied with Rick and Orcutt painting. I would definitely hire them again.

Highly recommended. Rick was always prompt in responding to our requests and in providing an estimate. The team arrived on time every day and were professional and courteous. The rooms look spectacular, and there were no problems. The crew was especially diligent about cleaning up afterwards, leaving our home cleaner than they found it. We have used Orcutt painting twice this year and have no reservations recommending them.

They did a fantastic job. Their work was meticulous. Edging around woodwork was perfect. Repair to walls was seamless. They arrived on time, completed the work efficiently and left the house spotlessly clean each day. I have nothing but the highest praise for their work. I would not use anyone else.

Orcutt painting did an excellent and professional job in all respects. The quality of the job is A+. The owner gave me an estimate that was honored and I appreciate that he was attentive to all details of the job. His crew is courteous and pays important attention to detail. I have very standards for this and was completely satisfied. They were patient when I struggled to find the right color for a room and politely accommodated changes. I am particularly impressed with the attention paid to proper prep work, their patience in taking the time to do the work properly, and their concern that I was satisfied at each stage of the process. They minimized the disruption by placing furniture back each day and worked quietly. It was easy to have them in my home. At completion the owner came to inspect the job and to make sure I was satisfied. Highly recommended.

I was extremely happy with our experience dealing with Rick, Ray, Anderson, and Robson. Prior to actually agreeing to have the work done, we were given a large "toolbox" of paint samples- thousands of separate chips to choose from. While making our choices, we received an itemized quote that broke down the prices by each area to be painted, which made it easy for us to prioritize and select the areas most worthwhile for us. After deciding on colors and which areas to paint, we were able to find an agreeable time to start the job. The main portion of the job took a total of 3 days, which is one less than was originally estimated. Each day, the crew would show up very punctually- they were literally within 5 minutes of the same time each day. I was somewhat surprised, and quite pleased, at the minimal impact their work made upon our home life during the job; they were very quiet while working, moved all the furniture necessary during the day, and then returned everything the way it had been previously. They also swept and vacuumed (using their own shop vac) every day. On the last day, a walkthrough was completed with the lead member of the painting crew, during which several problem areas were noted in one of the hallway areas where the skim coat that was used to repair flaws in the wall was visible. (It should be noted that this area was painted using a lesser quality paint of my choosing due to a need to match existing paint elsewhere in the area; I suspect that if the better-quality paint that they recommended and which was used everywhere else in the house this would not have been an issue.) We agreed to wait until the paint had fully dried before deciding what to do. The next day, Rick came by personally to inspect, and he was very concerned and apologetic- in fact, he was far more upset about that I was! If I had done the painting myself, I would probably have slapped another coat of paint over those areas and called it good, but Rick insisted upon more thorough measures. He also opted to wait to receive payment for the job until this problem was corrected. Over the next few days, we were visited multiple times during which the areas were sanded, re-skim coated, primed, spot painted, and then the entire wall was repainted. At the conclusion of these measures the wall looked perfect, and Rick came by again to personally inspect and make sure everything was just right. I've rated them "A" for price even though I'm sure I could have saved money by hiring someone else- this is because I do not believe that I would have seen the quality of service and result we enjoyed for a substantially lower price. Anyone can drive a truck and call themselves a painter, but these guys are professionals from A to Z. In conclusion: Rick was likeable and professional. His crew was clean, quiet, a pleasure to have in your home, and did great work. They demonstrated a dedication to doing the job right by the extensive measures taken to ensure a perfect result. I'd hire them again in a heartbeat, and would recommend them with enthusiasm.

When Rick came to do an estimate, I was impressed with his professionalism - asking all the right questions, listening to our concerns, and offering advice that made sense. We arranged a three day period for the work. The first day started with some unexpected and unavoidable difficulties with some of his crew having emergencies, but Rick was somehow able to get people here to begin the job. The first day involved repair of cracks and dealing with the stains. The following two days involved the actual painting. The crew was friendly, accommodating to our schedule, and clearly knew what they were doing. They use quality materials and at the end of each day, everything was cleaned up and the whole house usable. They finished earlier than we expected on the third day. The quality of the job was excellent and there was no sign of problems. The final clean-up left us wondering if anyone had been here. I would absolutely use Orcutt Painting again and will not hesitate to recommend them.

I chose this company based on the excellent reviews. I did not read carefully enough because all the positive reviews were for interior painting, there are only a few reviews for exterior painting and they are not as positive. The owner, Rick, was only involved during the estimate process and then when I had questions, he did not respond for several days and I had no other contact information for the company. This was a very bad situation, I couldn't communicate effectively with the people doing the work and I had no contact information for the person in charge. When I escalated my email and questions to Rick I did finally get a response and contact information for the person in charge of the project. After that point communication went smoothly but Rick was not involved with the project. Also, the person in charge didn't even have the final estimate Rick and I had agreed on so he wasn't aware about some pieces of the project. The prep work was very thorough and complete. More scraped paint ended up on the ground then I hoped for but I don't know what is normal in this situation. I mentioned the paint chips and they cleaned it as best as they could but it would have been better if they caught the chips before they ended up on the ground. We assumed we had lead paint and the treatment was meant to be accordingly. I assume they did this correctly, there was no power sanding done. They left their trash in our garage for the entire duration of the project and I had to ask twice to have it removed. It was there for at least a week after they were done. It ate up a lot of space in our garage and in retrospect I should have been more insistent that they remove it along the way. The painting was done using spray, and that was not mentioned in the estimate. It never occurred to me that spray would be used as I assumed brush painting is the default. My mistake? In the end, the paint job looks very good. I have always heard that spray doesn't last as long as brush painting. I guess if in 3 years the house still looks good, I will revisit this review.

Orcutt Painting did a fantastic job! Rick Orcutt responded immediately to our request for an estimate. He did a walk through of the rooms we wanted painted, asked several questions and gave his professional opinion concerning the work we wanted done. Rick followed up a few days later with a written estimate the detailed the work to be done and itemized the cost for each room. Before the painting commenced, he came onsite again to ensure that the areas for which he gave an estimate were the areas we still wanted painted. Rick was very amenable when we wanted to add an area to be painted that was not in the orignal estimate. The painters who worked at our house were polite, professional and timely. They always left everything neat at clean at the end of the day. The work the did was excellent - my husband and I are very pleased with the final result. We definitely will call Orcutt Painting for any future painting needs and we highly recommend this company. 12/2/14: We hired Orcutt Painting for a second time (first time was in August/September 2011 - see above) Orcutt Painting is the best - polite, professional, and hard working. As with the first time we worked with Rick Orcutt, he responded immediately and gave us a very fair estimate. He is extremely honest & professional and is great to work with. Orcutt Painting is our go-to painting company and is the only painting company we will call when we need painting services in the future.

Rick was very responsive and came by the house to give us the estimate. He was very polite and courteous. We told him what we wanted and the deadline that we were in. He gave us our estimate, which was one of the better ones that we received and he was able to schedule us in and promising that the job will be done on time. Given that our house was empty, Rick's crew came in the next day and started the prep work (saturday). His crew (Sal and others) were very friendly and courteous. They did a very good job. We had other contractors working in the house at the time, and they commented on how good a job the painters were doing. Sal also patched up/fixed a bad patching job by the contractors as well. After the painting was completed, I had a walk through with Sal. Rick also mentioned that if we ever unhappy or needed any touch up job, they will gladly do it for free. You just can't beat service and promises like that. Will definitely recommend Orcutt Painting to everyone.

Thought they were very responsive and accommodating. We called only a week before a party we were having and they fit us in the within a couple of days and had everything done in 1 day and ready for our party. The workers were very professional and did a great job!!

Prior to beginning the job, we interviewed Rick, and found hm to be very qualified, personable, and knowledgable. He began by telling us just what the job entailed. He would fill cracks, sand the walls as needed, and paint. At one point, he had to use a twenty four foot ladder. Rick has two employees who also painted. They were very experienced and professional, and couldn't have been nicer or more eager to please. Since I wanted to have the walls in the dining room wallpapered, Rick offered to do the sizing and sanding of the walls, in preparation of the paperhanger's visit. The entire experience was without complications or disruption. The men vacuumed and dusted every day before they left for the afternoon, leaving the areas spotless. The day after the job was finished, I noticed a small area that was a bit lighter than the rest of the wall.I mentioned it to Rick, he looked at it, saw what I had noticed, and called two of his men to come back, and redo that small area. They arrived, along with Rick, and he had them redo the area in question. They sanded the entire space, and repainted. The problem was with the wall and NOT the painting job. We were very pleased with the outcome. Rick is a joy to work with. He took the time to explain another problem I had, that didn't involve his painting. He is patient, good natured, and excellent at his job. I wouldn't hesitate to tell people how very pleased we are to have chosen Rick Orcutte to paint our house. It was an A+ job done beautifully. We have already spoken to Rick about more painting we would like done in November!

AS stated above, they worked hard and quickly on a difficult job that involved repairing the living room ceiling, patching cracks and holes in many rooms and painting a lot of molding and trim in addition to the walls. The place looks amazing.

Rick was very knowledgable and offered some good consultation during the bid process. He is upfront and honest about his costs and is very conscientious of doing a quality job for his clients and ensuring everyone is on the same page. Rick desired that we draw out the lines for the stripe and in agreeing to do so he came in far less in his bid than two other competing bids. We went with him and did indeed draw the lines for the white stripe ourselves. When performing this the night before Rick came to paint, it became clear why he wanted us to do it. It is pretty tricky business and a difficult thing to get just right. When Rick and crew showed up the next morning to paint, I showed them the lines I drew and expressed doubt that I had gotten it right. He and his foreman listened to what I was looking to achieve and even helped me straighten out one of the main lines. I left for work very confident that they would get the look we were hoping for. When we came home that evening, we were blown away. The room looked absolutely fanstastic. We show it off with pride now when people come to see our newborn son. Thanks again to Rick and crew. They are great people to work with.

We were very impressed with Orcutt Painting from our first meeting. More than any of the other painters that we had give an estimate, Rick viewed the job with a critical eye. He pointed out not only aspects of the work that would be more involved than we had anticipated, but also suggested elements we could easily do without to decrease the overall cost of the job. He outlined both a timeframe and a price estimate within 24 hours of meeting with us, and worked closely with our hardwood floor company to complete the job as efficiently as possible. We (of course!) changed our mind about the scope of what we wanted done a week before he was scheduled to begin, and he took it all in stride and adjusted his schedule accordingly. We met with him a few days before the job began to review the final details, and he introduced us to the two men who would be doing the majority of the work, who were equally approachable and capable. We absolutely love the way the rooms turned out!! We went through each room with a pretty critical eye after the work had been completed, and couldn't find a single glitch. The only area we could see this company improving in is their responsiveness to e-mail. Both my husband and I can be difficult to reach by phone during the workday, and so prefer to take care of details over e-mail, which sometimes took a bit longer than we would have liked.

We are getting my elderly parents' home ready for sale. They were very professional and friendly. Came right away when requesting an estimate. Extremely pleased with the work and would hire them again

We got an estimate from Orcutt to paint the walls, trim, ceiling, windows, bookcases in the living room and also to paint our dining room. Rick is extremely thorough in going through the work with the client, brining up every issue or concern he has right away; clearly he has a lot of experience and it comes through. Some of his concerns/feedback helped convince us to not paint the stained but unpainted trim and bookcases and windows. He would have been willing to do it but he warned us of some of the potential drawbacks or maintainance concerns - an educated consumer makes more informed choices. We were undecided about the living room, so we went ahead and hired another painter to paint the dining room. This was primarily a cost consideration. The other painter seemed as qualified and was a few hundred dollars cheaper than Orcutt for that room. Unfortunately the quality from the other painter wasn't as good as we had expected; we had to point out a few times spots that were missed or didn't look good and overall were only moderately satisfied with the job. We decided to hire Orcutt to do the living room once we were ready to paint that room and the half bath. Orcutt's crew did an excellent job, were pleasant to work with, and were worth the extra few bucks. We weren't quite happy with the way a spot in the LR ceiling turned out and they were able to fix it on the spot when we did our final walk through. We also had them touch up a few spots that we still were unsatisfied with in the dining room (a room they didn't paint). Overall, Orcutt's experience showed from the moment he arrived and also came through from his crew that completed the work.
