We have used Rick in the past for wallpaper removal and painting and he did an excellent job. Therefore, we called him for repair of the peeling kitchen ceiling. When I contacted Rick we scheduled an appointment to view the ceiling. He explained what was needed to correct the problem and provided a written estimate. Crew arrived on time, cleaned up when they left. They did excellent work. Very efficient. Rick came back to check the work.. He is always professional. Costs are reasonable and competitive. We plan to have more painting done later in the year and I will use Rick's company.

Upon the completion of this job, I believe Orcutt Painting has now painted or repainted every surface in my home as they have been the only company we have used since 2001. Obviously, we have been extremely happy with Rick?s services and could share many positive stories. But rather than repeat what many have already written let me try to post something different. Estimates ? we have always appreciated the fact that Rick breaks down his estimate for us by room. This has allowed us to carefully evaluate our projects in order to pick and choose pieces that fit into our budget based on time and money. In addition, Rick has often discourage me from repainting areas which he felt weren't need such as ceilings and trims. This has allowed us to stretch our budget further with our projects. Care for our Home - Rick?s staff has always been incredibly careful in home, making sure to gently move and protect our belongings. They cleanup at the end of each day and store their tools and supplies in the corner of our garage in order to minimize any inconvenience to us. As I walked around my home after they completed this last project I was just amazed how clean and well put together everything was. I noticed they had even repaired the broken air vent grill on the refrigerator and had removed 10+ years of dust and dirt from the ceiling fan, beams, and light fixtures from our cathedral ceiling which are well beyond our reach and ability to clean. To some these may seem like minor items but they are details which really make a difference when you walk back into your repainted and refreshed home. I did notice that someone wrote about how honest the staff is from Orcutt Painting. I would like to underscore this point. We have never felt the need to be home while Rick?s crews are in our house. Typically we have simply given Rick the key to the house and his staff have come and gone as needed. Nothing has ever been missing and I feel completely comfortable with this arrangement. Please note that this is not how we typically operate. Our home is always locked. We do not leave keys out or door unlocked to provide access for scheduled workers or repairmen. We always make sure that someone is home when work is being done.

Our experience with Orcutt Painting was very positive from beginning to end. Rick responded promptly to our inquiry by phone, email and a visit, met all timetables (even sooner we had expected) and estimates, and was flexible in responding to a couple of changes in scope. The workers did excellent prep work, were very professional, timely, quiet and neat. We are very pleased with the job they did.

Rick's group was great. They did a beautiful job prepping the walls/ceilings/mouldings that needed to be painted, and we are very particular! The crew was efficient, and the clean up was impeccable-- like they weren't even there. I highly recommend them (and plan to use them again!)

We couldn't have been happier with the results. As noted above, the job was done in two phases, both while we were away. In each case we returned home to find the work done as well as anyone could have expected. It was if someone came in with a magic wand and transformed our home exactly as we envisioned. The only evidence of all the work that had been done were the painted surfaces and some dust from the plaster work done in patching cracks and filling holes. All the furniture and furnishings were back in place. If anything (except for the bit of dust) the house was cleaner than when we left. Even after several weeks and careful examination of everything done we found no flaws at all in the work done. As I said earlier we couldn't be happier. In addition to the quality of work the Rick Orcutt did an outstanding job in managing things. He is a true professional at what he does. I heartily recommend Orcutt painting. I can't imagine anyone doing a better job at the very reasonable cost we incurred.

I wrote to Rick to come an give an estimate on a whole house painting job. He was enormously accommodating and has great communication. He spent a long time going through the house with me and explained what needed to be done. He was very detailed and patient and I am positive he would have done a great job. The only reason we didn't use him was that his quote was well out of our budget range. However, we would highly recommend Rick.

Rick's team was very responsive and professional. The work was completed well and in a timely manner. I would use him again.

I first called Orcutt a few works before Christmas, when I was having trouble getting workers of any sort take my calls, let alone commit to a job to be done before the holidays. Rick not only took my call, but was able to juggle his schedule to do the job. I was so impressed with his two painters that I had had them return after the holidays to do a second job. I really like the way Rick works.....he does the quote and, then sends in good, honest painter and then follows up. I really like the fact that he sent two painters....it just makes the jobs go so much more efficiently. During the first job i I had to leave the house unexpectedly for the rest of the day......and I was not too happy about leaving two painters who I had just met alone in our house..but my gut feeling was that they were completely honest and I came home ,that night to find the room done to perfection and all in place. It was like a miracle. I highly recommend this company.

They did a good job and we were pretty happy with it. We found them on Angie's List and they were on time and easy to work with. They gave us an estimate before the job started and they finished it in one day. We just moved in so it was easier to do. We did not compare prices but I would assume they were reasonable. There was something that they did not pick up but they apologized. They came when they said they would and were very nice.

We had a new front door installed and needed the interior painted before Christmas eve. We also had a variety of touch up jobs and new window interiors to paint. Rick came and gave a very reasonable estimate, pricing each item separately so we could decide on exactly what to do. The painters arrived on time and finished the job quickly. He had two painters working on different projects in the house, and I am very pleased with all of the work.

Rick was able to come out to evaluate the work within a few days and provided his estimate the next day. He was very helpful and patient in assisting us decide on a shade we were happy with, and his crew was very professional. We also appreciated that he stuck to his estimate.

Excellent experience. Easy to book appointment. They did a great job painting and did everything they promised in a timely manner. Highly recommend them.

Rick and crew were extremely responsive and professional. The crew were considerate, easy to have in the house, and extraordinarily neat and careful in our home. They took appropriate time to achieve great results but nevertheless moved along at a good pace, faster than we thought. Ricardo, Sam and the others deserve special kudos for their work in repairing damage suffered by aging, previously wallpapered walls and for perfect results in all areas, including around cabinet molding. We would hire this company again in a heartbeat.

Rick and his team were excellent and very professional. They took the time to prepare and finish the job. They showed up on time and whenever I had a question, Rick would call me back right away. Rick even volunteered himself to come over to inspect the job when it was completed. I have use numerous painters for the past 30 years and Orcutt Painting is the best one I have ever come across.

I am completely happy with the paint job, Rick, and his team! Once Rick explained the best time/way to reach him -- responsiveness was excellent. Reasonable/fair price compared to other estimates. His team did a thorough job, and cleaned up after themselves. Rick, and his team was responsive to my needs, concerns, questions. I would definitely use him again, and would recommend him.

Rick and his team were great. They were very professional and communicated well. They had to spend a lot of time fixing wavy walls in our 1929 house. The quality of work and end result were great. I would use them again.

Start to finish the job went well, Rick was prompt in responding for estimate. His crew show up on time very professional paint job. The crew worked around our schedule ( very helpful for us ) They always cleaned up work area. Would diffidently us Orcutt if we need more work done.

Responsive, professional, high quality, thorough, detail oriented, proactive ? those would be how I?d describe them. I strongly recommend Orcutt Painting. I had a tight time frame when I could meet with painters for an estimate before I actually bought my house (thanks to the previous owner?s flexibility). Rick Orcutt met me right on time, and we did a walk through quickly. I received the estimate two days later including a phone call from him to say that he sent it. When you are moving, there are so many things in motion, and I really appreciated how he was proactive and respected my times. I had a tight time line because I had only a few days between when I closed on my condo and when my family was to move in, and he sent the right size crew so that they finished ahead of schedule. When I did a walk through with his manager (I had already looked at the rooms myself) who was very thorough, he noticed that there was some coverage issues in one of the bedrooms. He immediately called and scheduled a team to come back and add another coat. I didn?t have to ask. Due to my tight timeline, I had furniture arriving at 11 am one day later, and his team was able to come by so early that by the time I showed up at 9 am, they were done and the walls were dry. That extra effort really impressed me. I have worked with other painters, particularly at my previous residence as I prepared to sell, and Orcutt was far better.

We recently moved and had 3 rooms in our house painted. Rick was great to work with & in contact throughout the job. We were having floors refinished at the same time and Rick and his crew were extremely flexible & accomadating in working around the floor guys and in doing some additional trim work that we decided on in the middle of the job. The crew was absolutely meticulous and very friendly. We we're very impressed at how much attention to detail was given to make sure the walls were smooth and free of imperfections prior to painting. The work was completed on time prior to our move in (Rick changed the size of the crew as needed) and at the agreed upon price. Rick also cameto inspect the completed work and to make sure we were satisfied. I can't say this about other contractors we worked with. We will absolutely use Orcut again in the future. Overall an exceptional experience and highly recommended company!

We had very high hopes. The owner of the company met with us. He was very professional and detail-oriented. His bid was very reasonable. He came recommended by a friend and had great reviews in Angies List. However, I think that perhaps his success has become overwhelming. He did not have enough workers to do our job in a timely process. It was a very long, drawn out job. We were told that they would try to get to our house in July. It was not until September that there was any actual painting, although scraping began in August. Although we had asked to have our front foyer painted, the workers didn't know about it. It was painted very well in the end, but almost didn't get done before they left. Communication was very difficult. The workers did not speak English well and there was no supervisor to talk to. When we called the owner, it always felt like we were complaining instead of simply communicating. If we had been warned that the workers were going to chop half of our hemlock trees away from the house, we would have hired professional arborists to prune them. I would have liked to know that the workers would be unable to do much repair on the wood floors and balcony of my porch before they painted them. All in all, we were very happy to see them leave. Unfortunately, it was almost two weeks after we paid our final payment before they took their scaffolding away/

I initially called Rick of Orcutt Painting Co. because of the fantastic reviews on Angie's List. My impressions of Rick when he came to the apt for the estimate. He was a gentleman all the way, didn't push or try to sell me. As a matter of fact, he was very generous in offering me some insider painting tips. He made some suggestions on how to treat a particular, recurring problem I was having with one of the walls in the living room. I liked that a lot about him. He did, however, refuse t o give his opinion on which flooring sample he thought would work best. (All in good humor.) He made sure to prepare me about how his prices might not be the lowest of the painting quotes I would receive. As he promised I received the written estimate within two days and no, his prices were not the lowest but for what he offers, combined with all those glowing reviews, I would say he's a find! I ended up not using him but only because my tenant and his brother-in-law ended up painting the apt themselves. If I ever needed a painter again in MA, I wouldn't hesitate to call Rick. BTW, his prices are not that bad!

If you need a high quality paint job these are the guys to go to. They were pricey but pros that did excellent work for us. At the recommendation of our decorator, we asked Rick Orcutt to quote a paint job for us. He arrived, was very professional and easy to work with. Sent in a quote that we accepted, and they started right away. After 2 coats, we remarked that it looked like another coat was needed, and they were very responsive - put on another coat. Overall, the results were excellent. High quality job. Would work with Rick Orcutt again.

He has the most professional demeanor. His estimates are fully detailed so that you can understand what you are buying. He is so thorough and timely. We could have his staff in our house at any time since they are us such a high caliber. If there is anything you are not happy about, they will fix it for you.

I could not be happier with the work that Rick and his crew did for me. Rick is very professional and helped me with colors. I also appreciate that they use low VOC paint so no paint smell! The job was completed on time and for the quoted price. The crew members that I met were polite and professional. When they were finished everything was cleaned up and back in place. Rick came over after to go over the job, make recommendations and to make sure I would please contact him if any issues arose. I would use them again and Highly recommend Orcutt painting.

This is the second time we have used Orcutt Painting and we were very satisfied again. Rick Orcutt was very helpful and thorough with is estimates (we had him give estimates for a few other projects that we plan to do later). He arrived with his painter on the day of the job to ensure that what we wanted would be done. The painter was extremely courteous, clean and fastidious. The job was perfect. The room was spotless when he was done and he was careful to keep things clean when he walked through my house. I am very pleased with the job performed.
