Ray, Robert and Rick were just fantastic. They did a great job from the estimate to the completion to the project. They will do a terrific job and address any concerns you may have. I liked the outcome of the living room so much, I had them paint the hallway. They are polite, timely and great to have around. I can't say enough good things about them.

From the beginning of our rapport, Rick Orcutt always returned my calls promptly, was clear and direct about all details and timing. When Ray came to assess our job, he was a pleasure to work with: prompt and courteous. They helped us through our complicated interior painting needs that included two large bedrooms, a den an office room, all ceilings, trim work and preparatory scrapings and repair. Greg, the head painter, is quite experienced in all the aspects of painting. He is very clever and had excellent suggestions as to color choice, degree of brightness and type of paint for the character each area. He expertly and patiently quided us through the daunting maze of color possibilities available. His knowledge and discernment were invaluable to us. The fellows who worked with him, Damen and Richard, were superb also: always clean and neat in their work, they were respectful, efficient and intelligent. They all worked tirelessly, quietly and most importantly did a gorgeous and flawless job in our house: Stellar craftsmanship! We look forward to working with them again in the near future.

The whole crew and supervisor were absolutely fantastic. I also met the owner, Rick Orcutt, and he was also very nice and professional. We got a quote that was very accurate, and they were very accommodating. We had scheduled the job with them that would take about a week, and I had to cancel last minute because of a family emergency. They were so nice and told me not to worry about it, and asked if everything was ok. When I was able to have them start the job, they were on time, very professional and very friendly. We were getting our house ready to sell, and they did a wonderful job. The place looked beautiful, and people coming in to see the house even commented on how great everything looked. Our house sold in a day, so thanks to the crew! I would definitely recommend them and use them again.

The whole Orcutt team was wonderful!!! They arranged for a Saturday visit to do an estimate to accommodate my incredibly hectic schedule. When I mentioned that I am very particular and that heads would roll if I found a dot of paint on the marble fireplace or parquet floors, I was assured they were also very particular and meticulous! Meticulous they were! The living room and hallway look wonderful!! When I asked about the size ladder(s) they were using so that I could figure out what size to get to reach curtain rods, change light bulbs, etc., they not only shared the information but offered to purchase one for me and bring it in the truck since my car would not have accommodated the size. I can't speak highly enough about this team of people!! They were professional, completed the job in a very short framework (a request from me since the movers were coming within a week or so), personable, and went beyond the call of duty!! They also followed up to see if there were any required touch ups once I moved in (for the record, there were none! The job was perfect!!) Perhaps the highest complement I can pay is my plan to not only "sing their praises" whenever I get the opportunity, but also to re-engage them to paint the dining room and 2 bedrooms before the relatives descend for the holidays! Many thanks to the Orcutt crew!!! I very much look forward to doing business with you again!

Work was done over 4 days. 2 - 3 man crew was prompt and very professional, and answered all our questions and requests. They cleaned up after themselves and moved furniture back to its original positions. Rick called us immediately after we called him and the job was set up on the dates we requested. I would recommend his company to other Angie's List customers.

. . . For example, the trim on one window was only painted 3/4 of the way up--the window shade (which they should have removed) hid the result. I never saw Mr. Orcutt except twice: when he came to estimate the cost of the job, and to pick up his payment. There was a competent and conscientious foreman on site every day. That was good. I suspect the ever-changing crew were illegal workers paid less than the minimum wage (not one of them understood a word of English), so I don't fault them for the quality of their work. More examples: the apartment was not cleaned when the job was (supposedly) finished. When I brought this to the foreman's attention, he made sure that one or two men came back the next day to sweep up. I have to say, though, that the toilet was left in a really disgusting state, which I didn't discover till long after the dirty deeds had been done, as was the case with the incompletely painted window trim. I also had to remind the foreman that the front door had not been polyurethaned as agreed, so that was done in a hurry, too. If two coats were put on on the same day, that would have been bad workmanship, but I think only one coat was applied. I paid for two. I let it go, though; I just wanted to get rid of them and forget it all. The experience was a complete surprise to me since Orcutt Painting Co. was so highly rated on Angie's list as well as by someone I know whose beautiful house I had seen. I shoulda done the work myself.

A truly positive experience from start to finish, Rick Orcutt and his crew were the best contracters I have ever had, they were professional and curteous, helpful and obliging in every aspect of the job...If there was a rating higher than and A I would give it gladly and highly recommend this company to anyone looking for painting services.

I got Rick's name from a neighbor who was very satisfied with his work. He came over right away and gave me an estimate which he broke down by room. Because my husband is very sensitive to paints smells, he recommended the no-VOC paint from Benjamin Moore and scheduled the work so it could be done while we were away on our vacation. We had minimal cell phone reception while we were away but Rick matched colors and got everything done so that when we arrived home, our house looked fantastic. It is an old house so Rick had warned me that the walls in our bedroom would not look perfect unless we replastered which we decided not do. However, I think it came out great and is definitely a huge improvement for the reasonable price tag. He came back 4 days later to do some minimal touch up. We are very satisfied by the work.

Excellent. The workers were very professional and polite. They arrived on time and worked hard the entire day. They were here for 5 days and cleaned up each evening before leaving. Our home is new with hardwood floors. The ceiling are 9 ft with a great room ceiling at 18 ft with steps leading to loft. The workers were extremely careful not to damage the hardwood floors and painting the 18 ft walls in the great room was not a challenge for them The quality of their work is excellent and we highly recommend Orcutt Painting.

The entire job went very well from the estimates to the finished job. Rick gave a thorough estimate and all work was done on schedule and with professionalism. We are delighted with the result and would use Orcutt Painters again without hesitation!

Rick Orcutt and his team were the best! He was patient with us (new home owners) and explained all of our options for color and paint product. We never felt rushed or ignored. His team was highly professional, courteous and responsive to our requests. We had work done in many rooms and every night they would clear out their supplies and clean up. Their work was precise and we love the job they did in every room. Most important to us, Rick was honest and upfront about some of the work we had asked him to do. He let us know that we didn't require all the work we thought we would need because the previous owners had painted some trim recently enough that it still looked very good. Honesty is good to find with contractors and we will definitely use Orcutt Painting in the future. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.

I was not happy with the experience. Make sure you know who the subcontractors are and if they do good work before using them.

I think good business practices indicate a well managed company. Orcutt Painting is exactly that. The owner Rick is a hands-on owner and they performed excellent painting services. We bought a house (built in 1958) and before we moved in I wanted all wallpaper removed ( 2 rooms), and all rooms re-painted, except the kitchen. We also had some ceiling cracks in a few heavily textured plaster ceilings which we wanted repaired. We had several contractors quote the job, and we chose Orcutt Painting for several reasons - a personal referral from someone who used their services, price was competitive and fair, and professionalism. Our quote appointment went well and on time, a detailed written quote was sent to me with a clear explanation of the work to be performed, and our job was scheduled within a reasonable period of time. The project went off without a flaw - on time and excellent workmanship. The painters showed up on time every day, were professional, respectful, quiet, and cleaned up at the end of the day. The foreman Ray, was personable and kept me informed every step of the way. My project lasted 5 days as quoted. The old wallpaper was removed on day one. Walls were washed, glue removed, patched where needed and prepped for painting in that large living-room. Other bedrooms were primed as needed, and painting began in some rooms on day one. They managed the multiple priorities well to make progress. Rick was clear on what to expect for our ceiling repairs. Because of the heavy swirled, circular plaster design of the ceiling, any repair would not be flawless but they would try the best they could to fill in cracks and minimize the appearance of the repair. Rick also suggested we might choose to delay the painting of walls within the staircase and hallways until after we moved in. The risk of movers smudging freshly painted walls wasn't something I had considered. I was glad he mentioned that. We scheduled a date after our move and they returned to finish the painting in those narrow areas. We were very happy with the results from all aspects. All rooms were painted, including trim - I couldn't be happier with the result. I knew what was to happen every day during the project. They were patient while I examined colors when the painting began to be sure I liked the colors. I did! But if there needed to be a change they were understanding about that possibility. After our kitchen reno we will have Rick and his team back to paint our kitchen.

I want to recommend this company without reservation! We had them do interior work in the winter. This spring they painted the exterior of our house. I come home every day now and feel like I have moved to a new home. Although Rick was reluctant to help me with colors, the painters recommended finishing the look off with painting the highest rim of the home. This totally changed the outcome, so much more pulled together and beautiful. The painters are professional, timely, and considerate. They cleaned up each day without exception. At the end of the job, the rains and heat came. We closed the windows, and some got stuck. Although Rick was going through some major health issues, he sent the lead painter out, who promptly fixed and redid all that was necessary. These guys are great! Thank you!

I had a great experience and am so thankful that I hired Rick to handle this job. A tenant was living in our condo for the past three years and we wanted to have it repainted before we moved back in in early July. Rick was so helpful in talking to me on the phone and fielding the questions I had regarding the process and logistics (even before we had agreed to work with him.) Though the job itself was fairly straightforward, I was trying to coordinate everything from Philadelphia, which complicated things. However, Rick was able to work around my schedule and limitations and assured me of his team's ability to finish the job in a timely fashion and with excellent results. They exceeded all of my expectations. I would highly recommend Orcutt Painting to anyone looking to hire a professional painter.

Overall it was a good experience. The owner was on vacation when the project started so I worked with Ray who was very responsive with the quote. I had a deadline for my son's graduation and they worked very hard to get me into the schedule (which they did and completed the job with a week to spare) My only complaint was that I did tell them that my contractor would still be working there but I think they misunderstood that. caused a little bit of chaos. The group that came the first day (4-5 guys) were very noisy and rowdy but I have to say they did work hard. After the first 1-2 days there were two guys who were very quite and respectful of our space Equipment: The first day they had to borrow my ladder as theirs were still being used at another job. The next day (weekend) they used the contractor's ladder without asking. (a no no) 3rd day they brought their own. All was well. Only a few small detail pieces of work that my contractor pointed out they weren't doing and that I should make sure they did. They complied without question. Great experience except first day.

Rick Orcutt came to my house and provided me with a written estimate a few days later. We scheduled the job to begin about a month out. Rick, Manager/Supervisor Ray, and crew of 4 painters arrived on the first day right on time. The first day was the beginning of crack and damage repairs and painting of woodwork. For several more days, a reduced crew came to finish patching and sanding cracks, prime various areas, and to apply 2 coats of paint to all areas. I am extremely happy with their work. The crew was professional and pleasant. I left them alone each day in my house while I went to work, and by the time I came home, they had always cleaned up their dust, cans of paint, etc., leaving them to the side of one room, rather than in several rooms that were still in progress. They were flexible when I changed my mind about the color of one wall. One painter returned to redo it, and I was billed a very reasonable amount for the change. The only possible area for improvement would be for them to clarify their estimated finish date for a job as a job progresses. It took a little longer than I was told initially, excluding the redo of the one wall because of my color choice. I was not in a hurry, so it was fine. And I'm guessing that all of the patching from ice dams damage, light fixture replacement, etc., probably took longer than expected - the repairs look great. Their total price was excellent for the amount of work they did. Please note I supplied my own paint, as I was still deciding on colors until the day they started. This also allowed me to buy Benjamin Moore zero VOC paint, which looks great and has virtually no out-gassing. Orcutt uses only Benjamin Moore, but the zero VOC would was an upgrade. I plan to call them again when I'm ready to have the upstairs painted. I've already recommended them to friends.

They came when they said they would. They were very neat and did a very nice job. I highly recommend them and plan to use them in the future.

They were OK, not terrific. The price was right, but the work was all right. When you paint over a great, big bump and then say well, that was already there, that to me is not professional work. I wasn't happy with that. Richard Orcutt just comes and gives you the estimate, he doesn't do the work. And some of the guys who did the work, I just didn't feel they were professional. If you do your own painting, which I did for years, and you see a lump here and a bubble here you can think, oh well, I did it. But when you hire someone to do it, you expect a professional job.

Ray, the owner's manager, was polite and prompt when he came to do the estimate. It took a bit longer than he predicted to get the written estimate, but it was very competitive and they were willing to work with our tight timeline (which included painting long days and even into the morning of the day we moved in!). The job is very attractive and the painters were extremely polite and considerate, taking extra steps to protect the newly refinished floors, etc. My only issue was that we'd agreed they'd paint with Natura (no VOC) paint and they seemed to have forgotten that and used their usual Regal instead (all Benjamin Moore). This created a short-term issue with air quality. The owner, Rick, was out of town during part of the job and was hard to reach directly via email and phone (I always got voice mail when calling and he did not answer emails) but eventually got back to us when we had questions, etc.

Great- very responsive on follow-up to all concerns. In retrospect I may have used a flat vs a eggshell paint on my very large walls, but that was ultimately really my call and my design consultant.

We had an excellent experience. From the first contact, Rick was prompt, professional, and did what he said he would do. He was flexible in coordinating the paint job with some other work we were having done in the house, and he came back after we moved in to fix up and nicks from moving furniture in and from the refinishing of the floors. Above and beyond. We were super happy with the final results and highly recommend him.

I really liked him a lot. I felt very comfortable with him and feel he would have done a great job. I ended up using someone else based upon price.
