They were phenomenal. They made moving enjoyable. They were early, took less time than they needed and were under budget.

Everything went very well. Punctual, professionals, very careful with my things, efficient. They were very accommodating at every point and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or use them again. A nice plus is that I recently found out they do restoration work and will be restoring a table for me before it's delivered to my new house. Great job!

Both moves (to and from Japan) were extremely smooth. The move to Japan was more difficult for us as we were emptying our place of several years, and the Gentle Giant move portion was the least stressful day of the entire last week. The movers were prompt, friendly, and polite. They did the packing the first day for us and then came back the second day to pack the container that was going by ship to Tokyo. Our int'l move coordinator, Bob was extremely responsive to any questions whatsoever, whether it had to do with customs forms or just how move day would go. For first move, we compared their pricing to two Japanese moving companies (Nittsu and Yamato), and they were significantly cheaper, but the quality of service could not have been better. The Gentle Giant movers were clearly careful and intelligent in how they did the job, and we felt safe that our things were in good hands. In the US to Japan move, we had one caster come off of a cheap table, and that was the extent of any damage to our things. No big deal. At the other end, the moving company in Japan (Springs International) they contracted with was also excellent: friendly, polite, professional, and efficient. (They did the packing and move in just one day when we returned to Boston!) When we returned to Boston, we didn't even bother asking any other company, we knew we wanted the same level of professionalism and efficiency. Moving is very stressful in general, but using Gentle Giant considerably reduced that stress for us in this area. They were worth every penny! We will use them in the future for any moving we do.

The crews have been unfailingly professional, friendly and efficient. These guys literally run up flights of stairs. I think they like the exercise to tell you the truth. Nothing was damaged and they moved with speed. I would recommend them to anyone. Worth every penny.

Other providers much easier to work with at the quote stage and have provided accurate quotes. I had no experience with the actual delivery process for which many people give high marks.

Gentle Giants were absolutely fantastic. They gave us an estimate based on our own estimates of what needed to be moved. It turned out we had forgotten lots of stuff and we had to keep adding to the set of items to be moved. After loading all our stuff (extremely efficiently) when we reached the new home they realized one of the two trucks was too big and couldn't make the slope up to the house. So they unloaded the smaller truck, and then went to the street to move stuff from the big truck to the|small truck which they then brought to the house, and then unloaded this. All these complications, and then the final total was *less* than the original estimate. And throughout the people were, true to the company name, truly gentle - we asked them to move several items to one place and then changed our minds and there was not even a hint of irritation! We will definitely use them again if needed (though we really hope we don't have to move again!).||Btw, we should mention that the move also included a crane to take a piano out of the old house and they moved this also - this was a fantastic bonus - not needing a separate move for the piano!

They moved my daughter three times. Each move involved a third or fourth floor walkup apartment in Back Bay, Boston. The crew was punctual, professional and very fast each time, even though they were carrying things up and down four flights of stairs. I would recommend them very highly.

Ned, Dave and Prince were polite, respectful, efficient and professional. They did as instructed and were careful with my belongings.

Everything went without a hitch. Each time, the team arrived on schedule and finished prepping and packing ahead of schedule. They were organized and understood that items were going to 4 different locations. They were very neat and courteous. All siblings received all their items (furniture/paintings/breakables/antiques) in perfect condition and on a timely basis.With regard to the city move - everything went smoothly and with minimal disruption. Although price was a little higher than competitors, we received a discount after the first move and all moves were handled very well.

They are pricey but I never had a moving company that acted so professional. They were extremely careful with everything, clean, and respectful of my belongings and courteous. They had to move the belongings up three flights of stairs and nothing got broke. They were so efficient. I definitely got what I paid for. The service was excellent.

The move went very well. They were on time, worked fast, polite and professional. They carefully moved the items to the truck and ran back to get the next item. Yes, they actually ran! There was no damage and they put everything in the right locations in the new house. Yes, we would hire them again, but hopefully we won't have to move again. We will definitely recommend them.

The moving quote from Gentle Giants was more than (as much as double) other companies, but we thought it would be worth the money if they were really as good as reviews said. They did load and deliver everything without damage to anything. (We did all the packing ourselves). Moving everything without damage was the most importance factor for me, so I might be willing to use them again, but I would definitely explore other options first because of the following 4 complaints. 1) They were not very communicative: a) they did not confirm that they received the paperwork I mailed in, b) I had to call them to get the finalized date and time for our move, c) they had trouble charging my credit card because they never bothered to ask me for the billing address and phone number, d) they kept calling the wrong phone even though I had given them my number twice. 2) They left trash in every room and on the lawn outside of our new home. 3) They did not reassemble all the furniture properly, so I had to fix it myself; and they broke the nylon washers on my daughter's crib, so I had to buy new ones. 4) They mistakenly left one item (my husband's moped) in storage in Maryland and did not deliver it until 2 weeks after everything else.

Very pleasant, respectful, nice young men who took good care of my belongings and moved them efficiently. They took great care not to damage walls or floors and even the tree out front was treated with respectfully when parking the truck. I really appreciated that they took the time to listen carefully to my concerns. I would use them again any time! A bit more expensive than movers that I have used in the past but worth it!

We have used Gentle Giant for three of our moves and they never fail to impress. They are consistently professional, trustworthy, and super fast. They eliminate much of the stress of moving day and that is priceless.

We could not have asked for a better experience. Their price was a few hundred dollars more than other quotes, but worth every penny. Nothing was broken during the move, including the things we packed. I have never seen any mover work harder or more quickly - they literally ran back into the house, or back to the truck, to get the next item. We are moving from MA to FL in the very near future and will seriously consider them for our long-distance move. I have moved many times in the past 30 years and they were one of the best two moving companies I have ever used (the other was a long-distance moving company who was bought by another company and no longer does business under their original name).

Excellent, Excellent service!! Moved the contents of my home and a huge storage unit to Virginia. The staff members worked very hard and were all professional and considerate. The team leader was amazing and the whole move was well organized. Gentle Giant really is the expert at moving!! Worth the price!! I would do it again with them anytime!!

Expensive. The workers were polite. Some of them were better than others. Had four guys. A few errors made.

Fabulous, couldn't ask for anything more. Crew was clean meticulous and educated. Price is a bit high but I am a firm believer we got what we paid for. They even offered to return and pick up boxes after we unpacked.

Gentle Giant is an amazing company and totally on the ball with the estimate. I shopped around and received quotes from two other moving companies and Gentle Giant was right there with one other company (the other was one-third the price which made me nervous!). I absolutely recommend taking advantage of their free walk-through consultation because the Sales Manager who conducts the walk-through will be able to provide the moving crew detailed information about the street, stairs, hallways types of furniture, what needs to be emptied out or taken apart and what can be left intact. It also provides a truer estimate of what the costs will be to move and where you can save money. After the walk-through, I received a report the same day and then I was able to speak to the Manager who performed the walk through to go over it and drill down to specifics. Given our tricky stairs, he recommended a fourth mover and we are so glad we did. They were extremely efficient and it was good to have someone always in the truck arranging our things and making sure it was safe. The customer service was great. I was always able to get the sales manager and my moving consultant on the phone or if I needed to leave a message I received a call back very quickly. They were also very quick to respond to e-mail. They were also very nice. Our mortgage fell through at the last minute and I was able to call Gentle Giant to cancel the move a week prior to let them know that we were in the process of securing a new mortgage lender and that we were still moving but could not predict when. They held our deposit and told us to call whenever we were able to move. I was able to call a week before we wanted to move and because they are headquartered out of Massachusetts and have a huge staff, we were able to secure a move on a Saturday without any problems. The only detail missed was I did not receive a phone call in the days preceding the move as promised. I called instead on Thursday before our Saturday move. However, I was very pleased to be connected with Sudi (main Somerville office) right away, who apologized for the oversight and quickly moved to go through the pre-move checklist and questions to make sure everything would be set for Saturday. The movers themselves were amazing!! Crew chief: Eric and the Crew: Eric, Jordan and Sean McDonough were fabulous to work with. They were efficient, thoughtful, organized and strong! From the moment they arrived, my worries about moving disappeared. Finally, love love love the company, corporate culture and commitment to charity and fitness. I spent a long time researching each company and GG just fit very well. The main office is in Somerville but because they have seveal warehouse locations, the mileage between the warehouse, our apt. and our new house was relatively short, which saved costs on gas for the truck. My husband and I are athletes so to get a crew of young, strong men and a company that prides themself on having a healthy, fit moving crew was reassuring and familiar. This company matched our needs and how we live in so many ways. I've being telling everyone I know how happy I was with GG and recommending them left and right as the go-to moving company in NE.
