Too expensive. Moving isn't rocket science. Go with the lowest quote, as long as they seem reputable.

I was disappointed that I had to find out about the difference hap hardly. They also were the most expensive and even more with the price difference wasted my time. They also had to question if they can honor the first price.

It was an incredible experience! I have had extremely negative experiences with movers in the past and Gentle Giant absolutely blew me away with their professionalism, courtesy and efficiency. The appointment was easy to make over the phone and my calls were always returned promptly. On the morning of the move the point person arrived to overview what we needed and walk through our house and any special requests we had. They brought two trucks to make the move more efficient but did not charge us extra for it. They moved unbelievably quickly despite being paid by the hour. After they delivered a box to it's spot in the house they literally RAN back to the truck to pick up another one and yet stood so patiently while we debated about where a particular lamp should go. They put down materials to protect our new floors and carpeting and took great care to protect our things as well as our home. Working with them was truly a pleasure. I could not recommend them highly enough.

Company moved us from Somerville to Holliston, MA on a hot summer day in July 2006. Team of 3 able bodies men arrived as promised at 9am, maneuvered the big truck onto our small one way, and quickly got to work. Estimate of 3 hours to pack up and get on the road was right on, the truck was the perfect size, filled to capacity, but nothing left behind. Met us at the new home an hour and a half later (they used the half hour they were stuck in traffic on the Pike as their lunch break) and got right to work unloading. They followed our instructions on where to place the boxes, and 3 hours later we were moved into our new home. Took exactly the amount of time they estimated, no unexpected glitches, charges, fees, etc. Everything arrived in one piece. We had a great experience with Gentle Giant and even though they may be a tiny bit more pricey than some other local movers in Boston, their professionalism, work ethic, and attitude were worth it. We felt we were in great hands.

I could not have been more pleased with my moving crew. They completely removed the pain usually associated with moving. I would never consider using any other company.

They were fast but not careless. Nothing was damaged in the process, it was really great! They were really nice people to work with, not only the people that actually did the work but the office people and everyone that we dealt with to set it all up. Everyone that works for them treats the clients with respect and amiability. They did come back out to reset a piano for us later as well. We would use them again.

As usual, they were prompt, courteous, helpful, efficient, professional. This is the model of good, responsible private enterprise in the USA.

My positive experience began with the salesperson, Ted, who was knowledgeable, pleasant and straightforward. With the reasonable estimate he gave me contact information for our office-based Move Coordinator, Niles. Having someone I would be able to reach leading up to the move was appealing and reassuring. The crew chief and two packers arrived on schedule the first day; the chief looked things over and discussed some items with us, and the team began to pack. They were careful but quick and efficient, took a break only for lunch, and finished ahead of schedule. The next day, the crew chief and three movers arrived, again on schedule. They disassembled and wrapped the final pieces and loaded everything up, including a stop at our storage unit. They unloaded no surprise -- quickly and carefully, and had plenty of time to unpack and still finish on schedule. The crew chief was excellent throughout. The final cost came in a bit under the estimate, a pleasant surprise.

Gentle Giant worked with me on a very tight schedule. They showed up on time, were very careful with everything, packed up the place within an hour and were very professional. They showed up on the other side of the country exactly when they said they would, and the guys that unloaded my stuff into a storage facility were very friendly and incredibly careful with everything, despite the rain making everything slippery. They even were able to recommend a former Gentle Giant employee who lived in the area to help move me out of storage when the time came (I ended up using him because I was so impressed with the company and have since recommended him to friends). They took great care of all of my belongings, were incredibly fair as far as pricing and the total cost was dead-on with what had been quoted. Nothing was broken or scratched, and they were very careful about tracking any dirt into the house. I really appreciated their help and highly recommend them.

They were superior to all recent furniture movers I have used (unfortunately I have moved four times since 2005) and most used historically. They were very professional during the initial sales process, including taking an inventory of items and mailing it to me to adjust as needed. The movers themselves were fantastic. They were pleasant, professional, worked well together and took superb care of my stuff. I am a bit of a control freak, but these fellows put me at ease and made sure that they wrapped everything well. I have had to take things to the re-finishers after previous moves. Not so with Gentle Giant. They were able to solve problems creatively as well as telling me all the options available to me. They seemed to really care about their work and making sure the job was done well. For about the same money as other places, I received exemplary service and care. I'll never use another mover again.

Gentle Giant would not come to my house to make an inventory and give me an estimate. They asked me to do the inventory, and mail it to them. The estimate was higher than the competition. And still no word that they would come to my house other than to pick up our pertinences.

They were right on time with 4 men and 2 trucks. They only needed one truck but they sent another one just in case. We did not have to pay for the truck we did not need (they had told us this in advance). Unfortunately, Gentle Giant has not requested the parking permits to park the trucks on our street. A police officer who was working on a N-star site that morning checked whether they had requested parking permits and asked them to move the trucks when it turned out they did not have the permits. They moved the truck into a parking spot just across the street. The move went very smoothly. They were very friendly, fast and efficient. At the new house, they unloaded everything, including our piano within 2-3 hours. If they did not know where to put an item they would ask us. We did not have to pay for the parking permits (total of $200) and the total cost was less than estimated.

I called and set up for a small team to moved my boxes and furniture from the PODs that would be located at my house, into the house. When the morning came for my PODs to be delivered, I found out they couldn't get the PODs off the truck with my driveway configuration. I had to quickly call Gentle Giant and see if they could handle this. They set up a larger crew and a truck to head out to the storage building and unload the PODs there into their truck, transport it all to my house and unload their truck. They were able to accomplish all of this in just about the same amount of time allotted. This helped me so much with my move.

Gentle Giant Moving Co Inc/Boxxpress were very careful and came on time as agreed. Nothing was broken. We had one disagreement over a large piece of furniture which they had said they could get in without any trouble and I had told them they'd have to go in another way. They insisted they were right, but they weren't and this added more to the cost. They were willing to negotiate on some of the price for that reason. We still thought the price was too high, but I don't remember what it was.

Superb. This is my third experience with the company, and their work is excellent.

Our experience with Gentle Giant was excellent and stress free. GG were a little more expensive, but they were worth it. They sent a representative to the house to assess our needs and fine-tune the estimate. They delivered boxes and supplies on time. They said they would arrive the day before the move to pre-pack items and wrap the furniture between 7:30 - 8:00 a.m. and they arrived at 7:30. The movers were courteous and professional, and took great care packing our items. The next day they arrived at 7:35 a.m. to begin the move. Those guys hustled! They moved fast but carefully. They did not waste a minute. Once we got to our condo, they were extremely careful to place furniture exactly where we wanted it; they centered the pieces on the wall, and unpacked our clothes into the closets. At the end of the move, they took us through the rooms to make sure we were happy with the location of all the furniture. We have used MANY other moving companies and no one else comes close.

Gentle Giant is a pretty popular moving company in this area. They treat you really well and they are on time. They were easy for me to work with and I think they're just good in general. They really are gentle and price-wise they are decent too. I would definitely use them again in the future. I think they're just really good and they live up to their good reputation.

They were fantastic, we had a very large house emptied and they were so helpful. Each guy that came was more helpful than the last. They called us back right away when we were inquiring about prices. They also confirmed details many times before and after the move to ensure that they were doing things right.

G.G. did a great job--everyone with whom I dealt (estimator, scheduler, and crew) was uniformly friendly, professional, and very responsive to my concerns. I had to change the original date for the move, and G.G. made that very easy. The G.G. reps. discussed various price options, letting me decide. On the day of the move, the crew arrived early, worked hard, and finished the job ahead of schedule. Since my condo building has strict rules about moving hours, that was both a relief and a money-saver (fines are due for exceeding the hours allowed). In my so-far 20 moves, this was the most pleasant and efficient.

Gentle Giant Moving Co Inc/Boxxpress were very quick and efficient. They really hustled to get things done and since they charge an hourly rate, this was especially nice. It was a quick move and they made it seem effortless. I can't remember the exact cost, but I know it was very reasonable. They were very careful.

Gentle Giant Moving Co. Inc/Boxxpress was very good to us. We had a huge amount of household goods and they were very efficient and careful. Nothing got broken and the men were very nice, polite and professional. It was a good experience.

I have only great stuff to say about this moving company. They treated me really well. They helped me finish packing stuff up because I was not done. They were on time. They knew what they were doing. They were really careful and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to move.

They are fabulous. They have different prices depending on how busy the time of year is and how many men they use to do the work. They come right out and give a written estimate. They were polite and professional.

I thought that they were just fabulous. They did a fantastic job. There was no packing involved. They took a lot of time on deciding where things were going to be placed and also deciding to move things from one place to another. There were some big pieces and it took a lot of manipulating to get it all in here. I am very pleased with them. The pricing was fair.
