There was no stress! They were always friendly and were helpful in placing furniture in the right places. They were very organized and thoughtful. Other companies said that they could do it all in one day, but when Gentle Giant came, they said it would be a 10+ hour day and would be very stressful. I agreed to the 2 days and am so thankful for their honesty and quality of work! I would hire them again in a heartbeat!

Our move could not have gone better. Gentle Giant is more expensive than other movers, but they are worth every penny. They were so professional we never gave our stuff a second thought. You are given a Move Coordinator who you communicate with for the whole move. It was great to not have to deal with a bunch of different people. Our Move Coordinator was extremely professional and responsive. When we did have to leave a voice mail with her, we would always get a call right back. The movers themselves were great guys who took the time to meet with you before they started moving stuff and go over what was being moved. They were also extremely professional and efficient. They treated our boxes and furniture with care and respect. We were given a one week window of when our stuff would arrive in Austin (14-21). They let us know the day before that they would arrive in the morning of the 15th. They would have come at 7:30am but our building will not allow people to move in until 9:00am. Again, they do a walk through before hand to find out where you want stuff. While moving in furniture, they made sure to ask specifically where you wanted furniture and made sure once it was there, that was where you wanted it. I highly recommend this company for any move especially if you want a worry free experience.

We used Gentile Giant for packing and also for loading two PODS with our stuff, since we have not yet purchased a new home. These guys were awesome. The packing day was the longest, and the actual loading of PODS took only four hours. The estimate was the highest we received, but we went on reputation (which is well deserved) as well as little things, like the sales rep actually working out how the truck would make it to and from our house. The best part is, they came in $500 UNDER estimate. I would wholeheartedly recommend Gentile Giant to anyone who asks, and we will be using them to unload our PODS when we finally find a new home.

items were packed well by courteous and professional employees ....estimate was given by a knowlegeable estimator who asked the right questions.....they arrived the day before move to pack and loaded entire truck the second morning....items were delivered 12 days later at destination as move had indicated.....gentle giant uses their own people on both ends of move.....a good group of guys to work with and would use them again.....not cheap but we got a quality move by quality people.....

Each time was the same scenario - I was able to book the appt online or over the phone. I received an immediate follow up to confirm the move and review the paperwork. The forms were conveniently emailed to me for my signature, a reminder phone call was received two days before the move, the movers have always shown up within the "window" of time scheduled, they have always worked hard, worked fast and worked smart in handling my belongings and packing the truck with great care. And each time I have received a follow up call or survey from the company to conclude the process.

The salesperson was professional and very responsive to my questions and concerns. He was very organized. The moving crew was excellent. They were professional, efficient and intelligent. They were also very courteous. I felt completely comfortable having them in our home and around our baby. They frequently checked with us to make sure we were satisfied with their work and progress. They surpassed the estimate a little bit on the load and deliver day, but that is only because they went above and beyond their duties to make sure that we were as comfortable as possible after the move. One man time to hook up our dryer, and helped me obtain the proper dryer cord from a local hardware store. Another man assembled and disassembled our elliptical machine, and someone else took the time to unpack our wardrobe boxes...which surprisingly made a huge difference in our comfort! While we were unpacking our belongings I also appreciated that they had packed in a more logical and efficient manner than the previous moving company that we had used. Our items were undamaged, and it was easy to unpack. Gentle Giant is somewhat pricey compared to their competition, but I believe you are getting what you pay for with them. Aside from that, I worried that the estimates I had obtained from their competition were off by a lot and that there may be hidden costs. With the estimate I had received from Gentle Giant, I felt that it was the most realistic.

I had originally provided a review stating the responsiveness was a 'F' . I did this because I contacted them via Angie's list. They responed that they never received the email soon after I wrote the negative review. They however never tried to contact me directly, they only responed to the negative review. That is why I gave a reponsiveness as a C.After the explanation, I contacted them directly to get to the botton of the issue. This is when I found out I had used them 10 years ago, when I moved into my house. Remembering the good experience I had back then, I decided to go with them despite the Angie's list mix up. I could not be happier. They told me a 4 hour window when they would show up, and called me to let me know they were on their way 30 minutes ahead of time. It was a small job, and they needed just a two man crew. They parked the truck in a way that it didn't obstruct traffic which impressed me. They cared about my neighbors as well as me their customer. They took extra care with my furniture, wrapping it in paper and in some moving blankets I provided. I had already moved some items into the container, and they continued working with the stack I made. They used the couch cussions to help shore up the stability of the stack. They also tied things down using the ropes and straps I provided. I could not be happier with their service. and recommend contacting them directly if there is a delay via this list. There seems to be a technical difficulty somewhere. I still believe that they could have tried to contact me directly when they received the bad review. It would have solved a ton of problems from the beginning... Other than that... they are top notch.

Update: I received a call from the owner who sincerely seemed concerned and apologized. They are refunding me for all damages. Original: I had set up a move from a house in Waltham to another house in Waltham. We did have a house load of items to move such as a ton of stuff in the basement and back yard. I had used them before with no problem. On the Friday before, 2 men arrived and were very helpful in packing some of the larger items. On Saturday, 4 men arrived to move the items. They were reasonable, although didn't listen to everything I told them. They didn't pack my clothes as I had wanted to them do. However, they were hardworking and worked to finish the move. However, my main problem was dealing with an issue of slicing my hose. My hose was working fine that day and the basement was not flooded. When they moved the final items in my yard that night, somehow my hose got nicked. It was running overnight and flooded my basement. I was left with a huge bill. I felt as if their quality department didn't believe me. The guys who moved the yard items denied that anything was wrong. It's quite possible they sliced the hose and didn't see it right away. I had no incentive in blaming them and flooding my basement after they left. I found the flood the next day after the move and had to call a company to take care of the basement. I will add they are covering part of the bill.

It was a positive experience overall. They were prompt, careful, and did a very good job.

They’re the kind of people you don’t mind having in your home. They take very good care of everything; we haven’t had any damage in all of those moves. I’ll keep using them and keep recommending them!

They did a fine job. Things had to be re-located to various areas, and they were able to do get everything where it needed to go. Everything was delivered on time and in good condition.

We needed a lot of help moving from an apartment to a new house. We have two small children, not enough time in the day, and lots and lots of stuff!! We were quoted a price that was almost exactly what we ended up paying, and we feel it was completely worth it, given the amount of work these guys did. They worked incredibly hard and VERY well together. They were on time, and very professional. It was a pretty seamless move, and we could not be happier with the outcome. You certainly get what you pay for with this company! This was actually the second time we used them, and would recommend them to anyone.

I was impressed from the very beginning. The sales contact was very helpful, gave me a detailed estimate but more importantly went over all of the things that could impact the price so I would know in advance. The moving crew was punctual, professional, polite and extremely hard-working. I would up paying more than I had intended but I was not as packed and prepared as I had initially hoped to be. The crew kept me appraised throughout the day of the time used, time remaining, and what the final cost would be. All in all a well-run company and a very pleasant experience.

Everything was absolutely okay with them. We pretty much packed up everything ourselves except for some things that we didn't have appropriate boxes for such as lamps. We've used them 5 times before. We had a lot of stuff to move. These guys were awesome. We would definitely use them again.

Gentle Giant moved all of our belongings and furniture to a new home. We packed the boxes for the move. The new home was less than a mile a way. The staff was very hardworking and got the job done very quickly. We did not have any problems with this company. We had a good experience and would use them again if needs arise.

They moved me August 5 and by August 8 everything was at my new home. It was well-worth every cent! There were a couple of damages, but with in 1 month everything was corrected. There was a representative there within a week to tend to my issues. I would definitely recommend and use them again.

They were great, punctual, very good with our inventory management and good at figuring out what was going where. They were very fast.

They were so professional and knew exactly what they were doing. They were so accurate knowing their poundage was on. They were very clear with what they were doing and there were no hidden costs. The two men who delivered were top notch and just excellent. I would recommend them to anyone. I knew exactly what to expect and when they sent me the final bill it was less than the estimate. You can use a flat fee or you can have the weigh your items.

They were very good. They came out and they moved my only aunt from assisted living back to her home. They do their job. They were efficient, they showed up, they moved my aunt, and it worked out fine. It wasn’t a big house move, so she didn’t need a big moving company; and they do small jobs. They were very good.

There was not one minute of stress in this move. What you are buying is peace of mind when you hire Gentle Giant. Two days of packing in December....190 tags on my furniture and boxes. They called the night before to give an estimated time of arrival the next day. They were on time to the minute. All furniture was assembled Let me state how polite and professional everyone was.
