Description of Work: Disconnect and reconnect gas range. New range had a different connection configuration that required new piping from the basement. It was a two visit process on the same day. The prompt, friendly associate did a quick and professional install.

Description of Work: They came in to fix a leaky sink. They came promptly and fixed the issue right away. I've used them for several other services in the past and am always happy with their level of service. I will not go anywhere else. Great team!

Description of Work: I called Allen Plumbing because the heat on our first floor was not working. They were incredibly considerate about working around my schedule, got someone over the same day, and he was quick, efficient, and professional in diagnosing and solving the problem. That evening, our heat worked beautifully. I didn't compare prices so don't have a comment on the price. My priority was to have the work done fast and well and that is exactly what they did!

Description of Work: I reached out to them regarding a potential leak in my washing machine. They were very professional and made recommendations on the best ways to have the machine serviced. Although they did not provide the service, their response and help with the issue was appreciated.

Description of Work: Around 8:00 PM on Saturday, 12/06/2014, we realized out sink was stopped up. (We had guests over that evening and cooked dinner for all of us, so it might have been brought on by the food scraps that were going down the "Insinkerator" on the right side sink.) It would not drain. By the next morning, although the water had gone down, when water was poured into the sink, it was left standing, so I called ALLEN PLUMBING (in Somerville) early on Sunday morning to request a visit. The fee was $150 just to have then come out on a Sunday, but we wanted to have the sink back in working order by Monday morning. MICHAEL arrived in the afternoon and worked on the drain. He cleaned out the plug to drain the sink, attempted to remove the trap & disposal tailpiece and in the process realized the slip nut & trap were cracked. He replaced the drain with a new trap & disposal tailpiece. Then he snaked the drain to make sure the stoppage was cleared. |

Description of Work: They replaced my water heater on very short notice. Prompt service, no issues. In general I find Allen to be good in all respects however a tad pricey - this is a good tradoff if you care more about responsiveness and quality than price.

Description of Work: Allen Plumbing installed a new water heater and removed the old one. |My water heater gave out on a Monday morning so I was really pressed to get it done that day since I was home just that day. Allen Plumbing was very willing to get it done for me that day and I appreciated that very much and from start to finish it was a very pleasant experiece and I appreciate that very much. But I do have to say that the price was a little steep for me. And maybe I was at fault because I didn't try to shop around - I just wanted to get it done that day as I was stressed about the whole thing happening. I have been told by people I know that they paid less to have their water heater replaced. But I don't know all the circumstances of other people's situation so who knows. Anyway it is what it is.

Description of Work: They replace a 75 gallon hot water heater. Overall I was very satisfied. My only real complaint is with the price. They were less expensive than another provider that I have used in the past, but I still had a strong sense that I would have ended up with a lower price if I had received multiple quotes from others in the area. Time considerations, however, did not allow for that.

Description of Work: i had a tenant call me friday night saying the heat and hot water were not working. Michael from Allen plumbing was extremely professional,courteous, and clear about what the cost of the visit would be. He addressed the problem quickly, without attempting to make it seem more complex than it was. I will call him again next time I have a plumbing or heating issue.

Description of Work: This was for heater maintenance and hot water heater replacement.

Description of Work: Personnel good and punctual. Replaced hot water heater. However, we found their quote to replace a standard faucet was outrageous. We chose not use them for this.... had a family member drive from NY to Boston to do the job. Including paying for his travel, per hour work, and the purchase of an American faucet, it still cost us less than 1/3 of what Allen Plumbing had quoted.
