+ -1 moreWent well. On time and effective. The treatment drastically reduced the number of carpenter ants, earwigs, and millipedes in and around my house. This was the Angie's List special. In the future, I will probably only get the exterior treatment, at least on the floors. Despite all assurances that the interior stuff was perfectly safe, I was completely paranoid about it and my infant daughter and ended up wiping it off for my own sanity. The exterior treatment is Termidor SC and the interior treatment is Suspend SC.

I declined to have him to do any work, and called a local pest service that did the whole house for the same amount of money that the "Big Deal" cost.

+ -1 moreThe woman on the phone was helpful and the technician was good about letting me know they types of chemicals he was using. He actually went back to the truck and pulled material safety sheets for me to keep. I have no complaints and will continue to use their service.

+ -1 moreThis past Spring the bugs were terrible, especially the ants. I followed instructions from UMass Amherst and purchased ant bait to eliminate a variety of ants, including carpenter ants. The bait worked and the ants were gone within a week! This was on or around June, 2013. On July 29, 2013 I received a letter in the mail from P & S Pest Control, offering to renew an annual contract for $599 if I renewed before 8/29/2013, and $699 afterwards. Oh! That's right... I had signed a contract the year prior with P&S but I didn't think the contract was still good after they provided a partial refund because one of their employees refused to follow-up the carpenter ant treatment, claiming it was too soon (and missed evidence of a prior termite infestation). Curious that I still had a contract with them, I called and asked when they had last treated the house. The woman on the phone said April 29, 2013. If P&S Pest Control really treated the property then it didn't show. There were ants everywhere. That's why I put ant bait traps everywhere in June 2013. I definitely will not hire P&S Pest Control for anything.

They set up some traps, something like that but no standard exclusion. The guy was a really nice person. We had good communication, etc. Their price was good. They responded well.

+ -1 moreP&S Pest Contol was GREAT! The exterminator was very professional. He was informative and explained the entire process, what I should expect before during after he sprayed and how it was environmentally safe for my pets. Since his visit I have not seen a single ant. I am very satisfied. The only problem I had was getting in touch with them originally to actually set up an appointment but after seeing the great product they offer, I can assure you, they are worth the wait. Be persistant when you call as they must be in high demand. I have a 1 year contact and will keep Angie posted when they visit again.

+ -1 moreThe technician did a very good job. The only problem was contacting P&S by phone - we called repeatedly both initially and for a second follow-up treatment. Eventually we resorted to contacting them through Angie's list which was much easier. The phone number listed for P&S does not even allow you to leave a message!
Description of Work: Sprayed the outside of the house to eliminate carpenter ants. Returned as we did some carpentry work on the front entrance to use a "bomb" to destroy the nest above the front entrance.

+ -1 moreIt went very well. They did a great job. We had a major ant infestation. We did the typical thing of putting out traps. It was insufficient. We talked to three different vendors. This is the one we ended up going with. The problem hasn't repeated. There have been no ants since then. We did a quick walk through of the house with them. They told us we'd need to be out of the house for four hours after the spraying, which was no problem. One of the things that was nice, they were there in person to answer any questions we had. Their price was in line with the other two vendors we talked to. They came on schedule both times they visited.

+ -1 moreIt went alright. Showed up a little late for interior spraying and could to perform exterior that day due to inclement weather, said they would be back in 2 weeks to finish exterior. Had to call after 2 1/2 weeks to see if they were still coming. Insects definitely diminished but didn't completely get rid of them. Thought they could have been more punctual and responsive. Overall not too bad.

+ -1 moreWe payed for a multiple spraying over spring and summer. They came as scheduled on thier first spraying, but then because of rain and/or just plain forgetting us, we had to call them to make sure they follow thru with the rest of the scheduled sprayings. They took a little longer getting back to us than I would have like, a week, but they did come back and finish the job. In the end, we did notice a big difference in the amount of mosquitos, much less, than the year before without spraying.

+ -1 moreThe technician arrived on time and explained the process. Since we had to be out of the house while he did the spraying, he waited patiently until we were ready to leave. He sprayed inside on the baseboards and outside on the entire perimeter of the house. We only saw one ant after that, just a day or two after the treatment, and it looked like it was moving very slowly (i.e., in the process of dying!). Since then we have not seen any more ants at all. Before the treatment we would see those big, black ants frequently during the late spring and summer. We are very pleased to be rid of these pests.

+ -1 moreFirst consultation: the technician advised that he should put out baited traps for the rats (OK, yes please) and spray for the moths. Second visit, he resprayed for the moths, checked the traps. They had not caught a single rat. Then they wanted $60 a month to check the traps. I had some credit and said use that up, get back to me. As far as I can tell they never returned. The rats, however, have enjoyed the liberty to reproduce and are a pest to the entire neighborhood. So would I use this provider again? Angie's List doesn't offer "Maybe" as an option. I would MAYBE use them again, but only after comparison-shopping with other services as they seemed quite high priced for what they delivered in terms of pest eradication - temporary moth relief, and no rodent relief.
Description of Work: I bought 2 Angie's List "big deals" from this service provider, intending to use them for my home plus a rental property, but was informed that the exterior pest control was not included so combined them to deal with the issues for just one house. Sprayed for bugs inside the house (we had an infestation of wool moths); put out rat traps outside (rats moved into our neighborhood recently). The moths returned, they sprayed again, it kept them down for a while but now the moths are back so the eradication was not lasting. The service provider never checked the exterior rat traps (covered with leaves, and who knows if a rat ever entered or not). The rats are proliferating and we are now getting cats to keep them off our property. I would rate this provider as "lackluster." For $500 I expected a bit more diligence and followup from the service provider. The technician was very pleasant and personable, and they did indeed keep the moth infestation at bay for several months so I don't regard them as terrible - not by any means -- but I do not feel I got value for the money spent, particularly in the exterior rodent control department. As far as I can tell they baited the traps, and failed to get any results from that, and the rats are enjoying a heyday.
