Or Renato and Rombulo general Contractor or Silva yard work and Silva General Contractors, I had them do work in my house few times, they come across very polite and the present a good number for the job, as neither one of them is a contractor or carpenter or whatever they sale. They are 2 farmers that did good landscaping, I had Ray a/k/a Renato for 5 years or more do landscaping at my house, good work for 5 years. In 2010 I had some people build a wall around my house, the first group quit, as they could do the job right, the second team I fired as they also had no experience on this type of wall, with pillars and big curves, at this time my landscaper Renato Silva said to me I have a causing that can do that wall with out any problems. I tell him to bring him in, well this guy was ok. He was avail to pick up were the others left off and Ray or Renato will help along, thru this job lots of people stopped and watched, and some requested to have work done at the houses. And this is how they started the so called co. Later that year I again contracted them to do a walk way, always and only if his causing was working with them. Ones the job was done they recommend that I do the rest of the walk way around the house. At that time I had no much money for this project as we did not plan on doing it just yet, Renato a/k/a Ray, said. Mr. Mike I been working for you for years I trust you , let us do the walk way, I well bank the job no problem, so I got a quote for the work, He said 7 thousand Dollars, I gave him 3,000.00 and bank 4 thousand. Well 3 week go by and Ray a/k/a Renato calls, bring the balance sheet with him, the balance was now $14,000.00 Dollars, I almost die. My wife and I paid him with money from our retirement funds. This past June 2013, we had bad weather lots of rain, this rain and wind did some damage on a building we own in S.Boston. Insurance got involved, had to get some estimates or quotes to have the repairs done. Had a new roof, remove 2 sets of chimneys, rebuilt a 3rd floor apartment, new floors, insulation and electrical work done. I got good prices and had each company do they work. Finish all the work by July 24th 2013, had the checks made for every company, I also had a young guy that oversee every aspect of the job and helped the process by helping them all, by carrying or help hold or move items, every one got they check no changes in price, but Ray Silva General contractor, he estimated a 8500.00 dollar job, but his bill shows $26,400.00 Dollars, I asked why, and he said that he under estimated some of the work and it took longer that he wanted. Well yes that may be, but how is that my problem, during this ordeal the tenant on that apartment die, they made a mess on apartment 2 that was occupied, the tenant allowed us to go in the apartment to remove the fire place and chimney and said I well return the 11 of July. You know how this is going to end right ?, the tenant come back on the 11th 10:00 PM , her apartment was upside down, had to put her in a Hotel in Boston at $300.00 per night. 1 night. Then one day they went in her apartment with out permission to do some non requested work, (paint her front door inside & out.) That infuriated the tenant, had to give her $200.00 off her rent, then one day she went to use a storage room that we had for her , the door fell on her, Mr. Renato a/k/a Ray had taken the screw out of the hinge to open the door with out permission, we got a letter from the tenant, she moved out. August 1st a tenant moved in in apt 3 top floor that was new, 3 days later we got a call, the bathroom sink leaks water, also water come out of the floor tiles and the toilet was not flashing. nice, well the sink had a striped drain pipe, that also was to short, and the plumber used some sort of silicone to stop the leak, didn't work. The toilet, was not they fault, it was a defect float. The shower drain was so tied that the seal come out making the drain leak on the floor. Then I had the heating system done at the end of August, had to call Ray a/k/a Renato, the thermostat was missing from the wall on the apt 3, he tell me he found the wires no thermostat, run the wires and installed a thermostat on the wall, the heating guys come by to make sure that it works properly, they found the thermostat to be installed up side down and the wires are not to the original thermostat. We do not know were he got it from. 2 month after they were done we got a letter from the people next door, saying that work was done next door and they damaged her walls in the process,the letter come with pictures, accidentally made 3 holes in the walls next door. Call Renato Silva, here I learn that they have no Insurance, They have no FID number, No green card, No drivers License, No workers Compensation Insurance, They have noting and he would do nothing to solve the neighbors? problem. How do they operate, I have no Idea. How is it that this guys walk the streets of Boston charging all kinds of money and they are illegal. I did paid the $8500.00 we agreed on mines - some expenses that he created, it is all up in the air for now, I have no intention of paying the 17,900.00 balance. That is not on my contract. Met Ray and Romulo through a neighbor by referral. They are very friendly, responsive, etc. They showed up on time, cleaned up after, etc. I've worked with them over a couple month time span. With an older home I've had many things go wrong and always call these guys and they come to the rescue! One day while the guys were here working I had a piece of furniture delivered to my door. They were kind enough to bring it in and help me set it up. It's the good work they do and friendly quick response which will keep me using Silvas going forward. Would recommend to a friend.
