Emanuel and his crew were a pleasure to work with from the first day. The painting crew were very easy to work with. The guys worked very hard every day. They cleaned up at the end of every work day which was a pleasure to come home to. I'm very happy with the project it looks better than I ever imagined it could. I have had many bad experiences in the past with contractors but, Coelho Contracting is an exception. Angie's List really works I would have never found him without it. The roofing project went perfectly. The whole project took 2 days and it looks great. The guys took a lot of care with the flowers and garden surrounding the home. I'm very pleased with the clean up and professionalism of Coelho Contracting...Thanks again.

This company is extremely professional. They are knowledgeable and on top of everything. They can pretty much do anything and that is why we liked them. We wanted an expert in painting and construction. We will have them do the work because they were very reasonable and honest every step of the way.

Emanuel and his crew were consummate professionals. He showed up when he said he would to perform the estimate and got us an estimate in a timely manner. Karla in his office was always available to answer questions by phone as we scheduled the work. He arrived with his crew on time and got the project off to a good start. We weren't entirely happy with the installation of the first window, and they quickly resolved the issue, with no hassles. His crew left our house in immaculate condition each night so we didn't come home to a mess. And when we decided to add some additional work at the end of the project, it was easy to negotiate and got done in a timely manner. We couldn't be happier with our decision to hire Coelho Contracting!

The paint looks good, but they were supposed to have done some minor repairs, but they did not do that great of job. Some windows were painted shut, so now they will not open, and then some were left open and blew out. I liked the men who did the work, but I was not too happy with the owners. It seems they did not inform the workers of all the work they were supposed to do.

Coelho Contracting were prompt in returning our initial call and in providing a thorough estimate and continued to work with us to refine the scope of work until we were able to finalize a contract. Both Emanuel and Karla exhibited endless patience with our many questions, were extremely flexible when we increased the scope of the job to include the family room, and were invaluable in guiding us through a very successful remodel. Coelho worked with us to keep the budget in line with the original contract, and we are very happy with their attention to this detail. We are planning to further remodel the house and look forward to working with Emanuel and Karla in the future.

I finally called and spoke to the woman who takes all the calls. She said that they no longer do "small jobs" like that. I told her I saw nothing on Angie's list to indicate they would not do this job. She said it clearly states that they don't do "handyman jobs." There are several reports from people who had "small jobs" like mine completed by them. I had called many handymen who told me the job was too large, so I decided to go with a company such as this. She did not know why she did not call me back. I wasted a great deal of time because they never called me back.

We had phoned for a quote. Karla said, she would check the house and send us the quote, that we didn't need to meet with her. Everything arrived quickly and in good order. The price, however, was way out of line with the other two quotes we had, and we ultimately went with another company.

Emmanuel and his crew were FANTASTIC! He was patient, diligent and willing to meet all of our needs. We had never done a project like this before and were very nervous about dealing with contractors, etc. Emmanuel made us comfortable and explained every step of the process. His crew was polite, clean and very dependable. Emmanuel has a great eye for detail and he gave us specific thoughts and recommendations on colors and design elements that made a huge difference in the finished product. His wife Karla is his office manager and she is very responsive and a pleasure to work with. Anytime we needed a question answered or had a concern they were always responsive with late night calls or early morning visits. We LOVE our new kitchen and would recommend Coelho Contracting to anyone. COME SEE OUR KITCHEN AND SEE FOR YOURSELF!

When I met Emanuel Coelho, he gave me such a sense of competence and integrity that I ended my search for a painting contractor immediately. His wife Karla, who tracked the job from the start, deepened my confidence. It's clear that she doesn't want her company associated with anything remotely shoddy. (She was so thorough and observant that she even offered to try and remove paint spatters on our foundation left by previous painters.) The painters themselves were friendly, fearless, and extraordinarily hard-working. They managed to work like the wind without losing track of the details. Once I watched as a guy reached his hand through a swarm of yellow jackets in order to reach a spot with his finger that his brush hadn't covered properly. And every day the guys did a great clean-up job. The end result was absolutely beautiful. Friends and neighbors gushed about it, and I still find myself staring sometimes, wondering if this could possibly be our house.

It took a while to get in touch with them, but once I did I scheduled a time for Karla to come out and to inspect the work to be done in order to best provide a quote. Karla is very nice and knowledgeable. I felt rushed and talked over at times. When I received the quote, I thought of removing some of the work, but was informed by Karla that my job was small compared to the work they did, and that they wouldn't do the work if I decreased the scope of it. I decided to go with another company who I felt more comfortable with and who shared my vision.

The Coelhos are the best! I have owned my house for 4 years and met them in the early stages of reconstruction. I could not be happier with the work and the professional experience. Emanuel knows exactly how to make the customer happy and his suggestions are extremely useful in ''seeing the big picture''. This work was done 2 years ago but it is worth talking about. We went from having the worst yard in Charlestown to a outdoor space that rivals any urban garden. I smile every time I see it and I owe it to Coelho Contracting. The experience was painless for us and their team focused on keeping the space clean and organized every day. This was a MAJOR job. They needed to remove 10 concrete steps and 2 walls then dig out the yard and replace the steps in the ''beacon hill feel'' that we wanted. I would not change a thing. I would not hire anyone else. As you will see, this is my first post but I will be adding more since I only use Coelho Contracting!

My wife is in her final months of pregnancy and we bit the bullet to re-due the outside of our house and add more living space by adding a new dormer. Coelho contracting was hired to do this work and to come up wit the best way to trim the windows and the entrance way. Once again, they exceeded my expectations. My house was vinyl siding (baby blue) and we wanted to clapboard the house and put a colonial feel around the windows. This was what I told the Coelho's and they took the ball and ran with it. Again, taking the front of my house from the worst on the street to the best. Everyone has said that it is amazing and could not believe how fast the team worked. Coelho took great care in completing this project before the birth of my child and used their creative ability to make it look 10 times better than I expected. The work was messy and a lot of demo. My house was kept clean and neat the entire time. It looks awesome. I have no pictures but it is 3 Mt. Vernon St, Chalestown.

I called to get a quote and they were booked until next spring. They referred me to a person that contracts for them (not a company). I decided not to call the person, as I felt more comfortable with companies that were listed on Angie's list. I did like the fact that I could speak to a person and get an answer right away, other times you leave messages and never hear back from people.

The experience was superb from start to finish. Karla is personable, extremely knowledgeable and willing to work with you until you are satisfied. I requested a special type of paint that is an environmentally friendly one used by restorationists and comes with a lifetime guarantee. Karla initially told me that it might cost extra since it was significantly more expensive than their standard paint. In the end, however, she did not charge me extra even though the paint is almost twice as expensive as their standard one. The painters were extremely professional, arriving on time, staying late, painting with extreme care and cleaning up thoroughly each night. In addition, they went above and beyond the call of duty moving an entire pile of wood (half a cord)in order to reach the retaining wall and then moving it back once they were done. I did not ask them to do this, and in fact, assumed I'd have to move it. I couldn't have been happier and recommend them very highly.

We had a retaining wall that had fallen apart on one end of our property. We knew it had to be replaced, but we were wondering if we ought to replace it with a material other than concrete. We ended up speaking with five different contractors who offered five different approaches, including one contractor who preferred to replace our entire 210 foot retaining wall, as opposed to repairing one single section. Emanuel Coehlo offered a straightforward solution; we hired him and are very pleased with the work. The wall looks very nice, it was rebuilt in a single day and we thought the price was fair.

I received a call the day after my call indicating that they could not help me because my job was more handyman work which they did not do. I appreciated the call so I could move on with my quest.

He was prompt to set an appt and arrived exactly on time. I chose another contractor, but would call him again

Called for an estimate. I got a very friendly return call informing me that they are not taking new work for one year given the number of bathroom and kitchen jobs they have lined up.

I was interested in remodeling my bathroom. The company said they are not taking requests for another 8-9 months.

Coelho is an excellent company and I would never hesitate to recommend them for the work cited. Interactions were very professional, friendly, & good natured. Their crews work incredibly hard, are polite, neat and very meticulous. Their standards were higher than ours, exceededing our expectations in every part of the process. For example, they were hired to replace the back deck boards but they noticed that the rails were a bit wobbly and they tightened all of them up without charging more. When the front deck boards didn't exactly fit around the posts, they redid them using one of their best carpenters, never once mentioning charging extra. The Owners checked on their crews regularly and asked often for our feedback. Whatever we pointed out got fixed (there was little to comment on). About price: they were not the least expensive but they were the best value. (They even cleaned our windows on the last day!) Our house is transformed, the neighbors are amazed. Hire them!!!!

Job 1: When we realized he s a full-service contractor, we hired him to replace the windows on the 1st floor of our house. He explained all the ramifications of installing the windows & recommended Harvey replacement for the quality & cost. The windows are terrific. Job 2: We had a wonderful experience working w/ Coelho, his wife Carla & their crew. Our 2-family house was badly faded & peeling when we bought it 3 yrs ago. So when we finally saved up the funds to rejuvenate it, we checked Angies list & recommendations from friends. We picked Coelho Contracting bc Emmanuel answered questions, had wonderful references from Angies list, we thought his price was fair & the offering he described was comprehensive. He did a fabulous job. Carla helped us pick the colors & trim, & went out of her way to instruct her crew to deliver what turned out to be just stunning trim along our roof peaks, windows, doors & banisters. We enjoyed working w/them very much. They made our house look beautiful.

We were hiring Coelho to paint the exterior of our house. When we realized that he was a full-service contractor, we hired him to replace the windows on the first floor of our house as well. He very clearly explained all the ramifications of installing the windows, and recommended Harvey replacement for both the quality and the cost. He did a beautiful job, and we would hire him again in a minute. The Harvey windows are terrific.

I've used Coelho Contracting before to paint my home and was very pleased. I hired them this spring to paint my rental property. The house needed significant siding repairs (clapboard). Emanuel and his crew did a great job on both the siding and the painting. A very happy customer- once again.

A very good company, overall very happy with everything. The paint job looks great ,Karla actually picked the colors for me. My home has a lot of detail which I never noticed before.
