. My phone call was returned promptly, the service visit was scheduled for the next day, and when the previous job delayed his arrival, his office called to give me the revised time of arrival. He was quick, knowledgeable and friendly. He has repaired other large appliances for me over the past ten years and I wouldn't call anyone else.
Description of Work: Ceramic-top electric stove repair: one switch replaced. Then, instead of replacing one of the other burners, Mr. Milton explained to me how my stove functions! (It has a "simmer" on/off button which had been left on, so the burner wouldn't heat beyond simmer temperature!)

The individual in the office fielding my calls and the serviceman who did the repair were both obviously very experienced in their jobs. I felt well served, and the stove worked perfectly afterward.
Description of Work: Very unsure of what we spent--can't find the paperwork. Our Viking stove had a burner that wasn't working. Miltons diagnosed the problem, got the parts needed, and repaired it--all extremely quickly.

I called his number (this is the third time I've called Milton's Appliance for repair service) and gave the make, model and trouble symptoms to the office manager. She arranged for him to come to my home within about 24 hours. My washer had stopped mid-cycle. I had removed a lot of the water but there was still some inside and he coped with the extra weight and trouble. He astonished me by the speed with which he opened the access to the motor, identified the broken part, and replaced it. I would call him before anyone else the next time one of my large appliances breaks down.
Description of Work: He came and repaired my old washing machine in about 15 minutes. He had the parts in his truck so there was no delay. His office manager gets the information on your appliance, make and model and symptoms, so that he can arrive prepared. He was very fast and informative about my washing machine.

We were delighted that the company was able to give us an appointment between 1 & 3 pm even though it was about 11 am when we called. Mike showed up within the 2 hour time frame and the work was complete within about a half hour. The $99 charge included $69 for a service call plus $30 for the labor, which isn't exactly free but I'm guessing is pretty much standard.
Description of Work: Mike M. diagnosed our Amana bottom-freezer refrigerator, which we had reported was not cold in the fridge portion, though the freezer seemed to be working. He removed the bottom freezer drawer unit and the defrost heater cover and quickly determined that while the fan was working, the heater itself was not, which led to an accumulation of frost that was blocking the flow of cold air to the upper box. Suspecting the heater's electrical connection had failed, he asked me to switch off the circuit breaker and removed & replaced the plug. With the power back on, he was able to verify that the heater was working and cold air was flowing. He then reassembled everything and was on his way.

MIKE DID A GREAT JOB OF KEEPING THE 20 YEAR OLD WASHER AND DRYER THAT CAME WITH OUR HOUSE ALIVE AND IN GOOD REPAIR FOR SEVERAL YEARS. HE ALWAYS RETURNED PHONE CALLS PROMPTLY AND ARRIVED THE NEXT DAY. WHEN THE TIME CAME FOR A NEW WASHER AND DRYER HE QUOTED US A PRICE THAT SIMILAR TO WHAT WE COULD FIND ON-LINE OR ON SALE ANYWHERE. HE DIDN'T CHARGE FOR DELIVERY OR INSTALLATION OF THE NEW APPLIANCES OR REMOVAL OF THE OLD ONES. (THESE MACHINES ARE LOCATED ON THE 3RD FLOOR OF OUR HOUSE.) HE ALSO DIDN'T CHARGE FOR THE ORIGINAL SERVICE CALL TO COME AND DECLARE OUR DRYER DEAD. HE DELIVERED AND INSTALLED THE NEW WASHER AND DRYER 2 DAYS AFTER WE ORDERED THEM.
