Description of Work: I had just landed from a flight home for the holidays when I got a call from one of my tenants saying that they had no hot water (~9pm). I asked them to go into the basement and noted water was everywhere. I was pretty sure the hot water tank had cracked. Called ASB plumbing (Tony) immediately as I had used him before to great satisfaction. No answer but, left message. Got a call back first thing the next morning, 8am. He told me he would look at the problem immediately and get back to me. He called back at 9:50am confirming that the hot water heater was indeed busted. He said he would be glad to care of it as tenants without hot water can be a priority if needed. Since I'm pretty sensitive to ensuring my tenants get service as soon as possible, I was pretty happy to hear that. I gave him the go ahead. By 12:30pm that day, it was all taken care of. He asked what I wanted to do with old hot water heater... my choice was either paying him a little extra to take care of it or risk getting a ticket from good 'ol somerville; I went with the former... Now that I just got back from the holidays, I went down to the basement to check things over and the job was done perfectly. The area around the new hot water heater was clean and he added a riser to keep it above the floor for when the basement floods.

He also moved the position of the gas valve on our stove. This was in Oct of 2009. We recently had him come back again to replace a radiator valve. Description of Work: In late spring of last year Mr. Anthony Buccieri installed a Bosch aqua star 2400 "on-demand" hot water system in my house. The system failed on Wednesday February 4th. I awoke to no hot water and a flooded basement. Mr. Buccieri did come that day and confirmed that the unit had failed and it failed due to freezing of internal components. On Thursday February 5th, The tech support people at Bosch (the vendor), after requesting photographs of the installation (which I, not Mr. Buccieri took and sent) indicated that the problem was not the unit itself, but a bad installation on the part of Mr. Buccieri. The unit failed because the way that it was vented caused the unit to freeze internally. Mr. Buccieri insisted that the problem was not his fault and actually tried to initially make me pay for a new appliance as well as a new installation. Interestingly Mr. Buccieri admitted that he has the same unit installed in his own home and that it is vented "internally", which is the correct way, according to the vendor, as opposed to the external venting that was used in our installation. When I refused and indicated to Mr. Buccieri that I planned to pursue legal action against him, he suggested that we split the cost of the appliance. This all occurred on Friday the 5th. By Saturday morning February 6th, I was furious and Mr. Buccieri again asked me to find a vendor. So, again I'm looking for vendors and Mr. Buccieri is "supposedly" looking for the water heater, but to no avail. On Monday February 9th, Mr. Buccieri showed up with a Noritz model N-0631S which is a less expensive, lower rated unit. Mr. Buccieri, after 7 days of no hot water, was still unable to even get the inferior, less-expensive water heater installed because, according to him the connections and fittings were different than those on the original (Bosch Aquastar 2400) unit. Further checks on reviews on the Bosch aquastar unit suggested a very high rate of satisfaction from customers in all climates and weather conditions. On Monday evening Mr. Buccieri phoned to again ask me to share the cost by agreeing to pay for his labor. I refused and again warned him that I planned to pursue legal action if necessary after finding someone else to complete the job that he had so badly and incompletely performed. He insisted that he would not finish the job. Currently sitting in my cellar is the blown Bosch unit and the uninstalled inferior Noritz unit that is rated as "non-energy star compliant". It is not a high-efficiency unit. Avoid this guy at all cost. He takes on more than he can handle and is terrible when it comes to service.

Description of Work: We asked him to come and check whether or not the burst of water we had in our laundry area was caused by a leak in our washer hose. He checked the hoses and right away found the problem.

Description of Work: I called about a furnace pipe with a pinhole sized leak in the basement. Anthony came in as we scheduled and located and repaired the leak. He then completed other jobs to toilets, sinks and replaced a broken, leaky faucet. Anthony also checked a broken radiator and advised us about the need for replacement. He called back later about potential pricing and availability, but I chose not to replace the radiator at that time. I called Anthony again several weeks later with an emergency need to properly connect a stove after gas leak required gasline shutoff by the gas company. He was able to rearrange his schedule, came right out and had the stove fixed in minutes.

Description of Work: We a drain issue going on, where the water from the kitchen sink and disposal backed up and ended up coming up into the adjoining bathroom's tub. It was disgusting.

Description of Work: Tony, the owner, came to my house to do an estimate on replacing my 75-year-old steam boiler, and converting to gas (from oil). I wasn't sure whether to keep my steam radiators, or take the opportunity to replace them with hot-water baseboard (HW gets higher efficiency than steam). Tony was very personable, and really enthusiastic about heating technology. He measured my rooms and radiators, and promised to get me an estimate by the end of the week.
