JMS is extremely professional and responsive. They returned my calls and emails promptly and kept their appointments on time. They provided me with estimates for my insurance company to repair the water damage in my home. The insurance estimate could have been more detailed to insurance company specifications. The only negative comment that I have is that they are extremely expensive for the repairs that they stated needed to be done in my home. There was a huge difference in the amount the insurance company would reimburse us on the claim versus JMS's estimate. We had the insurance company return and they offered us money on the claim, but I believe that JMS labor costs are high. Therefore, although I would have like to use JMS, in the end we went with another company. If this was not work need to be done for an insurance claim, I would definitely call JMS again for another estimate for remodeling work for my home.

John the owner is so easy to get a hold of by e-mail and phone. He always takes the time to discuss concerns, aims to please the homeowner and is attentive to making sure you are happy and will notice if something needs further adjusting, even if you don't see it yourself, which is (greatly) appreciated. Steve the carpenter did the work described above, he was supposed to start our project on the first visit earlier in the day, but started later in the middle of the day. If he called just to let us know he was running late, we would have appreciated that better. Besides the start time, the only other area that needs improvement would be the following: Toward the end of our projects above, which of course included some small scale work, which was done, the owner was expressing displeasure via e-mail about small jobs. It would have been much better if he had told us directly that he would rather not do (smaller jobs). I certainly would have respected his decision about small jobs if he told me beforehand, then I could take the time to arrange for someone that does not mind small projects. Lastly, other than this (one) aspect of communication that needs improvement, we are pleased with the work.

the process, any concerns and my satisfaction mattered. One extra was that the cost was just as John had estimated! I would recommend John and company to anyone and everyone.

John provided excellent service, and restored my excitement for a bathroom remodel project that had been terribly mismanaged and incorrectly performed by a previous contractor I fired. A complete contrast to my first contractor, John was prompt, polite, informative and professional through the entire process. JMS installed everything except the floor, including beautifully tiled floor and shower, a steam shower with glass paneling and rainfall shower option, corner Jacuzzi and custom made vanity. I highly recommend that you contact JMS if considering any remodel project on your home.

We were out of town when our house/pet sitter notified us that the sump pump was backing up into the basement. We immediately called John who within one hour was at our house to investigate. Found that the sump pump drain had become clogged. He brought in the landscaping professional who had originally installed the drains. They were able to snake the drain and resolve the issue that afternoon. John's firm also recently installed a basement staircase handrail, guardrail, and took care of some minor plumbing issues for us. Everything was done with the highest degree of professionalism, quality, and responsiveness one could possibly ask for. My wife and I have been customers of JMS Partners for 7-years. Everyone who works for John's company has been extremely trustworthy and professional. A former Navy fighter pilot, John is organized, methodical, and thorough. John has enormous integrity and is hyper-focused on customer satisfaction, going the extra mile to ensure that work is done according to his customers' expectations.

JMS was wonderful! Truly a great experience. I recieved phone calls and emails ahead of time. Even a few text messages. I took photos iwth my iphone and sent them to them ahead of the work so they could see what they were getting into with an old hosue and a smattering of odd small repairs. The communication before and after was excellent. The worker was perfect. very attentive to me and my elderly family member. Everything was done above and beyond my expectations. A truly great job. Knew their stuff, showed up on time, done perfectly -- but they're not cheap. I paid $70 an hour for a skilled handyman but that included a senior discount. If you want top quality work, and want them to show up do it right and be happy and are willing to pay a bit higher price than a "bud & dud" operation -- this is your ticket. Best of all -- they even billed me. (I was a first time customer). They emailed me the bill a few days later, and I mailed a check the week after. very happy all-around. You can probably find cheaper handyman, carpenters etc, but they won't be this professionally and hassle free!

John was excellent. We arranged to have him come over to the house on a day/time that was convenient to us. He arrived on time and did a thorough inspection. He explained things to us in a very clear manner and answered our questions. We have every confidence in his judgement and expertise. As future repairs are needed, we would reach out to JMS Partners, Inc., without any hesitation.

JMS Partners was one of several contractors I contacted through Angie's List for an estimate. John, one of the owners, replied to my inquiry the same night to let me know he was busy until early June (I contacted him in early May). On June 2, before I had a chance to follow up with him, he reached out to me. During the month of May I met with some of the other contractors I had reached out to and decided to work with one of them, so I did not schedule time to meet with John. However, I was so impressed by his follow up that I felt compelled to share my experience via this review. I will certainly keep JMS Partners in mind for future needs.

They are a general contractor. Their price is a little on the high side but not that far. They do a good job. Of all the people I have seen, they are very good. They work consistently. They do not come and go. They are usually here to finish the job. They had to finish a deck for me that took two weeks.

Excellent work, as usual. Cannot ask for better service.

The guys from JMS were all great! John, the owner, was very responsive throughout the whole process. He gave a very detailed estimate and kept us informed every step of the way. We were very pleased with the quality of all the work as well as the professionalism and attention to detail of everyone involved. When small things came up that were not necessarily part of the original scope of work, but would make the finished product better, there was no hesitation to do the job right. For example, a heating vent in the laundry room floor was originally slightly under the baseboard. When replacing the tile, it was a simple modification to move it over half an inch so it would look nicer when finished. Noticing and taking care of small details like that make the finished product even better. We were very pleased with our experience with JMS Partners and will definitely use them again in the future.

The experience was fantastic! JMS was on time, neat and clean and a joy to work with.

He was very courteous and very knowledgeable. He was willing to do what I wanted done on my roof. I wanted to use him but was unable to because of how quickly I needed the project done. He was very professional. When the other roofer was working on my house, I had some questions. I called John and he actually helped me get the problem fixed even though he didn't get the job.

JMS was prompt with his estimate and sent a detailed cost analysis. His workers are insured for any injury on the job. I believe they have Social Security and Worker's compensation. The painting was done on time and my wife and I were both very satisfied.

This vendor is a extremely good communicator. Even when I made a mistake, he assumed positive intent.

We contacted John Tartaglione / JMS Partners summer 2011 to get an estimate to have the exterior of our house - a new-ish colonial - painted. He and a painter walked around the house, and later John sent us an estimate for the paint job. We felt it was a fair price and hired him for the job. He was busy with other jobs at the time, but sent us a monthly e-mail to let us know we were in his queque, and by January - with the mild 2012 winter - John's carpenter was at work preparing our house for painting. We liked John and his carpenter, and one thing led to another. We knew our house needed more than just a paint job, and, when we saw the quality of the work that John's employees were performing, we asked John to take a look at some other things we were concerned about - such as the winter resort some squirrels had set up in our attic. John ended up replacing our roof- which had been damaged by hail, removing our attic insulation and replacing it with energy efficient, squirrel-proof, spray-in foam, replacing and repairing windows, clapboards and walls that had hidden water damage - either from poor construction or the 2010-2011 Snowmageddon winter and replacing all of our guters and down-spouts- - - as well as, eventually, painting the house. Naturally, we ended up spending much more money than we had planned to, but we are happy with the results and feel our home is both more secure from the elements and - when the time comes - will be more sale-able. Also - John was very good about alerting us to work that could be covered by our home insurance company, and he was always available to meet with the adjusters. Another important plus about John is communication. Phone calls and e-mails were always answered promptly. The work he and his sub-contractors performed was always detailed on his invoices.

John Tartaglione, Owner of JMS Partners, without question, has the highest degree of integrity and professionalism you could ever ask for. There could be no better General Contractor to handle your home?s remodeling needs. I?ve known John for six years. I first met him in 2007 when he did some very small carpentry projects for my wife and me. We liked his work so much that in 2010 when we were considering a much more extensive addition and remodel, he was the first person we contacted. For our large addition/remodel project John provided us a very detailed itemized estimate. His price was about 10% higher than competing bids. But the other contractors? estimates were very approximate and I could see the potential for hidden costs. There when you need him: At one point during the project there was a period of significant rain and our basement began filling up with water (through no fault of John?s ? this was an existing/recurring issue with the home). John came over to help and stayed until 2AM, lending us a pump and helped my wife and me avoid significant damage to our home. Again, going way above what we could have asked for. EX #3 ? Expert Knowledge: There were many instances where John?s knowledge of construction processes and new materials on the market enabled us to find solutions to issues that has saved us money in the long-run and resulted in a superior outcome. This is where John brings VALUE to the table. If you?re looking to have something done by the cheapest means possible without regard to results, he?s probably not the one for you. However, if you?re looking for a very high quality outcome with minimal stress, he?s it, hands down. EX #4 ? Accountability and Responsiveness: During the project, John was always there to provide me updates as often or as little as I wanted. He has never failed to respond almost immediately to any call, email, question, or concern I?ve ever asked, even after the project was completed. Our project has been completed for 1-year now and there?s not a day that passes where we?re not extremely happy with the outcome. Everything that John?s company did is rock solid and has turned out beautifully. After everything John did for us, I felt compelled to write the best possible recommendation I could come up with. Stop right here. You have just found the best contractor around.. JMS Partners just may be the most professional company that I have EVER dealt with. My husband and I had extensive undiscovered water damage in our basement. The sale of our home fell through. We had moved away and quit our jobs.. Now what.....We were absentee home owners and our home was on the market and we had a basement that needed major attention. John gave me peace of mind so I could sleep at night.
