My expectations may have been too high. I came home expecting sparkling clean. The house was clean, just not the "ta da!" I was expecting. Honestly, the house was in rough shape to start with though. Maria was wonderful with getting in contact and responsiveness. The price was good. I'd hire her again.

I pay them on a bi-weekly basis.  Since I’ve been using them for so long, I know the owner and I really like them.  They do special things that I ask them to do.  They do wipe down baseboards, which is unusual.

We've been using Maria's Home Care for OVER 10 YEARS. They have a key to our house which I gave them after they had come a handful of times and I was pleased with the results. We have never had anything missing from our home.  We found Maria's through a concierge service that my former employer offered as an employee benefit. I told the company I was looking for a cleaning person/company who was bonded and insured and they gave me a list of companies in our area.
Maria came to our home, looked it over, asked what we wanted to have done and provided us with a price. I could tell right away that this woman ran a strict business and was very watchful over her employees. She is responsive to any type of thing you might want done differently next time or anything additional you might want done. She has a man named James who answers her phone and he is very nice and polite and always makes sure Maria gets my messages and calls me back if need be.
I am guessing that the member who graded them poorly didn't want to let them come to the house when they weren't home and/or provide them with a key. They have alot of customers and usually provide you with a range of time they are coming like most vendors do. They leave a message the day before and say it will be after a certain time. So, if they say after 1 PM, then it could be up to 5 PM when they come. You can ask them to come a certain time of day and they will try to come in that time range. I'd rather have them come in the middle of the day so they aren't here when I get home from work but sometimes that happens. It's okay with me as I know they do their best with scheduling and some houses occasionally take longer than normal.
There is nothing like knowing that it's our cleaning day and the house is going to be all clean when we get home from work. My advice is to give them a key. It's much easier that way.
One thing to mention is that they will charge you your regular cleaning cost if they are locked out of your house or if there is no cleared access to the house (snowy/icy walkways and driveways). If you see bad weather is coming and you know you are not cleared out then it's easy to change your appointment. You must call at least a few days ahead of time though. I've changed many appointments with them for a variety of reasons and it's never a problem. We have never been charged a fee for a cleaning that didn't happen because we know the rules and follow them.
Our house has 2 full bathrooms, three bedrooms, an office, a tv room and a large kitchen/eating area. Two of the bedrooms are carpeted, the rest of the house is hard wood or ceramic tile. They vacuum all the rugs, also area rugs and they do some light dusting here and there. They also vacuum and wash all the wood and ceramic tile and wash the stairs that go down to the basement. We have a garage under the house and we come up those stairs all the time. The stairs are painted with deck paint so it's nice to get them washed once a month. This type of area would be something we probably wouldn't get to on our own very often.
We have them use white vinegar and water to wash and disinfect the tile and wood floors. We provide all the cleaning products we want used as well as old kitchen towels. I believe you can pay extra for them to bring cleaning products with them and they always bring their own vacuum.
In addition to the floors they change the sheets on two beds, clean two bathrooms, tidy up the tv room and the kitchen. It's a real bargain, in our opinion, for the amount that gets done and the price she charges. Three girls can get all this done in one hour because they use what seems to be very efficient cleaning techniques. Our home has roughly 2,000 s.f. of living space. So, if your home is larger and you need more time, of course your price would be higher.
I've recommended Maria's to two friends and, at this point, they have also both been using their services for at least 5 years. One of these friends was paying more elsewhere and not getting the same quality of work.
That's it, the bottom line is, we trust them and we are very satisfied with the cleaning they do in our home.

Maria showed up spot on time to give an estimate, and was easy and pleasant to deal with. Her business is large enough that she was able to give references that we knew, so it was easy to hire her. She was also right on time to clean the house and finished quicker than she estimated - so it was less costly than her estimate. The results were excellent - house is cleaner than with prior provider, who was more expensive. She's very businesslike, and we will definitely continue to use her.

I paid her weekly and her price was decent. The work was okay, but it was not what I was looking for. My previous housecleaner was fabulous, but when I moved to this new place she wouldn't come this far to clean. Maria's Home Care Service had a good rating on Angie's list, and I expected better than I got. It just wasn't up to par. I was disappointed.

THEY DON'T ALWAYS SHOW UP WHEN SCHEDULED. FOR AN EXAMPLE, THEY SHOW UP AT 9:30 IN THE MORNING WHEN THEY ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO COME UNTIL NOON.
