We were selling our home and needed to make a few minor repairs. We had some roof soffits that had fallen down over the years, a threshold that had just never gotten done and some windows where the screws had fallen out of the crank mechanism and some missing cranks. Jeff responded quickly and he knew what needed to be done and the time frame that it needed to done in. He found out how to fix the windows from the manufacturer and took time to make sure each window worked as well as it could. He also came back to install the window cranks that had had been ordered. Jeff was pleasant and he did the work well. I felt he would have competently done other repairs and I would certainly use him again.

They answered the phone right away and were courteous. They said they were very busy and could not get to me for at least a month. When I asked them to suggest another handyman, they gave me the name and phone number of another handyman. I did eventually figure out how to remove the medicine cabinet and reattach the door myself.

Excellent. he was there when he said he would be, did the job expertly, left the house in great shape.

Jeff Lasky is a terrific, personable, thoughtful handyman. He knows what he's doing and is up front about issues that need additional attention. He's entirely responsible and careful with the job, the house, and friendly to my nanny /children who are home.

I called Mr. Lasky the morning of March 9, and he came over right away to look at what had to be done. He took the measurements and got back to me in a week with the estimate. I gave him the go ahead but the rain in March & April delayed the work. His helper completed the work in three days, often working in the rain. We were very pleased with his work and asked Mr. Lasky to look at another planter in the same area that had also rotted out. Wasn't aware this planter was in bad shape until one of the condo owners pointed out that it needed replacing. When Mr. Lasky came over to pick up the check on 4/22/2010, he looked at the planter, took measurements and said he would get back to me with a quote. When three weeks had passed and I hadn't heard back from him, I left a message on 5/17. As of 6/28, he still hasn't returned my call.

Jeff was very easy to work with all around. My neigbor and I obtained estimates from 3 window refurbishing experts and chose Jeff based on price, knowledge and the fact that he actually does the work himself with his employees. I asked to him to install my new wooden blinds during the job and this was not a problem for him (very reasonable labor charged for this). Additionally, I have two large window security grates that he had to remove for the job and he went above and beyond on the reinstallation of these as they were initially installed improperly causing the windows to not function as I would like. This was an unexpected finding and Jeff found a creative way to reintall grates with no additional charge. He stayed true to his original price quote for the job which was appreciated.

Very happy with work. Jeff obviously takes pride in what he does. Handrail was a custom job, several 90 degree turns and landings. Did a good job matching replacements to existing treads.

We felt we got a good deal. Jeff was considerably cheaper than the other company we checked with. Many of our windows didn't really open, or wouldn't stay open, and now they all work and open and close. There was some work that wasn't included (re-glazing) which we did ourselves, and which was easier to do once the windows operated properly. I would have liked a more detailed quote, and better communication about scheduling and the process, but we were happy with the end result.

I spoke to Jeff by phone and explained the work I needed. It was a small project, likely one hour's or so work. He told me that emailing him was the best way. I promptly emailed him. He did not have the courtesy to respond. I emailed again and he finally replied saying he was too busy for this project.

He never showed for the agreed upon appointment.

It went very well. He was very responsive. He was exactly on time. It was completed on time even though it took more resources or effort than he had expected and yet he still charged what he gave as an estimate. I was very satisfied.

They are wonderful. Paul Lasky is probably the most creative problem solver and if there is an underlining problem, he tells you what is wrong and what needs to be corrected before he does the work; otherwise what will happen. It is not like he highly advises you to do it or pressure you. You always end up saying that he is right. He is a wonderful craftsman and is very meticulous. He is fair and I just love Paul Lasky.

My experience was very positive. I got other estimates from Angie's List and chose him. I was so pleased with my experience that I plan to use him again in the future for some additional carpentry work.

We were debating whether or not to get a replacement window for a damaged wood window that had an old window air conditioner installed in it for decades. We spoke to a couple of other window restoration companies who said they couldn't take on such a small job for one window, so we called Jeff since he specializes in window restoration. We ended up opting to repair two windows, the one we were originally concerned about and another one that had yet another air conditioning unit installed in it. Jeff charged us a slightly higher rate per window since it was a smaller job than he would normally take on (i.e., four window minimum). When he was looking at the windows, he also took a look at the storms that needed to be readjusted in the frame and there where some drafts coming in as well. So in addition to having him do the window restoration we also had him do the work on the storm windows too. The windows work great now. They have new copper chains and slide very smoothly. There are no drafts anymore. All we need to do now is repaint the window and the sill. Jeff came out quickly for an estimate and was able to schedule us in the following week. We are very happy that Jeff was able to fix the original windows in our home.

i was very happy with the service provided by Jeff Lasky and his team. He explained the pros and cons of different choices clearly, made a special effort to meet some time contraints due to my travel, and kept me well-informed about how things were going -- when they would be working, what they found when they opened up the windows and what it meant for cost and schedule, etc. They showed up when they said they would, got the job done when they said they would, came in at the cost Jeff had estimated, and cleaned up the work areas and minimized any inconvenience to me. Overall, their work was very professional and cost-effective. I would definitely use Lasky again.

I didn't think Lasky Homesmith was as informed as the other person I had give me a quote, although their quote was less money. He didn't look as deeply. We decided not to do the work because it was too expensive. He was a nice guy. He was a little bit slow. He didn't do as thorough of a job inspecting the property to see if there were any hidden costs. He was there in a timely fashion. He was professional about it.

The recent work required three trips and he did all the jobs quietly and cleanly. The work is excellent.

It was overall a good experience. Jeff came over and gave us a quote quickly. It took a while for our door to arrive because it had to be custom ordered, but once it was in, Jeff came over and updated our threshhold and installed our new door. It looks great.

Despite some early concerns about getting the new doors to fit perfectly in the frame, they came out great. We are very pleased with the quality of the work and how they look. Jeff assisted in finding special door knobs that fit the new doors and followed up by returning to install the knobs and provided special screws when the ones that came with the knobs did not fit.

I have used him on other jobs and I always find him to be courteous, punctual and efficient with his time. Furthermore, he is completely trustworthy.
