FONSECA HOME IMPROVEMENT

The house exterior trims were loose and one of them was falling down. I called Fernando and he came in the same day with a fixed price quote. The job was done prefectly. He is very professional and nice. The quality of his work is excellent.

We are happy with the whole job. Fernando came in time and was patient and creative when he had to overcome some problems with the not-perfectly-leveled floor, not perfectly straight wall, and with the vanity itself.

Fernando is meticulous and wants to do it right. He explains everything, ask questions and is open to the customer's feedback. You can tell he just enjoys building things and doing things right. He had to trim my cabinets (took them outside) and cut them at an angle because of my unlevel floor. We worked together trying to get the dishwasher end panel in right so the dishwasher would close correctly; he tried and tried and wouldn't be happy until it was right. We were concerned it would take more than a day, as things came up for him, but he was able to finish in a day.

Responsive, professional, honest, punctual, did a pretty good job of matching a difficult plaster swirl.

Fernando did a wonderful job. He installed 5 interior doors and they look amazing. The house was built in 1890 so the doors had to be special ordered. His work is high quality. I will definitely use him for any carpentry or handyman services I have in the future.

Fernando replied to me immediately when I inquired about the work I needed done. He came to my house and looked at the space and then suggested ways to approach the situation. He emailed me ideas later that night, and once we agreed on the approach, we set the date for the work to be done. Fernando arrived on time and completed the work quickly, even suggesting that we didn't need to do all the work we had discussed, thus saving us time and money. His professionalism and talent is admirable.

Fernando was prompt when meeting to give me an estimate. He was able to start work in a short time and did beautiful work. I would definitely hire him again.

Mr. Fonseca arrived on time and gave me an estimate. He then returned a few weeks later, again on time, and performed the work. He did an excellent job and was focused on doing the jobs correclty, not just finishing as fast as possible. I highy recommend him for handyman work, carpentry and common home repairs.

We mostly communicated via email. I send him a messages asking if he can perform a certain task, he comes out, gives me an estimate and we set up a time for the work to commence.

This is the second and third time I've used Fernando and both experiences were excellent, as before. Even if he's busy, he makes time to check out the work needed and give you an estimate. He arrived soon after and spent most of the day to complete the ceiling work, not even stopping for lunch. Several weeks later, I called him with an urgent need to prepare a section of the basement ceiling for insulation work scheduled for three days later. He came on a Saturday morning and did exactly what was needed in about two hours. It is always a pleasure to work with Fernando and we consider him a friend.

Outstanding! Fernando arrived on time. Appeared very professional and never charged us because he was not able to complete the job safely. Although, while working with Fernando, we learned allot. Assuming there was no duct work within our addict space, Fernando would have completed the job without fail. Fernando also learned allot as well from that experience .

Fernando did an excellent job. He took out all the rotten wood and cleaned out any mold and mildew and redid the window matching everything up beautifully. He also caulked around the window so we would not get water behind there any more and even primed the sill for us. Fernando is not only an excellent carpenter but also a very nice person and easy to work with. Fernando really deserves an A++ for the quality work he does.

I gave a call to Fernando in the morning on Monday, and he returned my call later in the day. He realized that I was in the midst of a home inspection, so he said he was able to come out to provide an estimate later that evening. He is a very professorial guy and provided me several options on fixing my subfloor wood rot problem. The price he quoted was very good. I ended up deciding not to go with him, but that's not due to Fernando. I would definitely go with him for another project in the future. When I called to cancel (the night before), he was very polite and professional. I would definitely use Fernando for a future project..

I was replacing an old double wall oven with a new one that had different cutout specifications (new one needed to be shorter and wider). There was a short drawer under the oven which I wanted to make taller to create more useful storage. I worked out how I wanted to raise the oven floor platform and had most of the materials (wood and nails) for the change. Fernando came earlier than our set time, discussed the whole project so he knew what I wanted, and understood the particular challenges of this project, and set to work until he finished. He worked with me to make sure my measurements were correct before doing any work, and rechecked as he went along. Ferrnando cut out the existing platform, cut and installed side supports, screwing them into the walls of the cabinet. He then cut and screwed in 2x6 cross suppports (he used lumber which he had which was better than my 2x4s), and added 3/4" plywood base (also screwed in). Finally, he covered the front of this base to match the cabinet. The 3/4" thick piece for the front was actually too thin (cabinet wood was thicker than my supplied wood, a little less than 1") and Fernando cut new shims to fill it out perfectly. These were installed with finish nails that were set in so that they wouldn't show. I planned to putty and paint the trim myself. He then made the cut-out wider, to my specifications of shifting the cut-out to the left by 1/8" to make more clearance for the oven doors vs. the cabinets/counter on the right. The finished cabinet looked fantastic, just like the original. As a separate project, I asked Fernando to make the cabinet drawer front for the new larger space under the oven. Fernando is a great listener and wanted to make sure I was happy. I would not hesitate to recommend him for any job and will hire him for other projects in my house.

Excellent experience from start to finish! Fernando is responsive, courteous, and conscientious to the point of perfectionism. He returns calls quickly, comes when he says he will, listens patiently and makes very good suggestions. I was reassured by his knowledge and professionalism and will definitely call him again for other carpentry and handyman projects.

I have called Fernando a few times to do various odd jobs around my house, including minor electrical work. Last year (2011) he built wooden stairs out of railroad ties going down to the outside entrance to my basement. He is very conscientious in his work. He is the only person I would call to do odd jobs around my house.

Perfect. The work was done on-time, and very professionally. Areas were clean of debris when finished. Will definitely use Fernando's services again.

We had an antique door, and the hardware to open the door had broken and could not easily be replaced. We had been told that this would be tricky to fix, and that we may need to get a locksmith involved. Mr. Fonseco was able to excise the old hardware and re-work the door to accept modern hardware. The end result was beautiful; we can't even tell that any work was done, except that now we have a functioning door again! Working with Mr. Fonseco was a pleasure in all aspects; his high-quality work was very reasonably priced, and he was responsive, punctual and professional. We would not hesitate to hire him again or recommend him to a friend.Thanks again! (long overdue)
