William and his helper arrived at the appointed time and went right to work. They removed all the vents, replacing them with a cardboard plug, and took the ac unit out of the attic to outside. With a giant vacuum cleaner attached to the fresh air return, they proceeded to pull all the mold, dust, and other debris out of the all the ducts, detailed the coils, and generally sanitized the entire system.

Was able to get the appointment when needed prior to having houseguests with small children. They arrived about 30 minutes later than the appointment was for but had called to advise so that was acceptable. They came in and I watched as they cleaned the carpet so I know they were doing a good job. My parents have 2 cats and there were quite a few stains on some of the carpet but they got them all out. Carpets dried in about 4 hours as advised which was important to me as my parents are elderly and I didn't want them to walk on carpet then on floor with possibility of slipping. Still today 8/7/2014 as I vacuum the carpets at my parents I am still very happy with the service provided for the cost.

They did a pretty good job. They did an excellent job. According to my sister, they did everything that I asked them to do. The carpet was clean. The price was reasonable. They did come out on time, it was a decent time. I would use them again.

I called Nola carpet cleaning yesterday at about 4:30 PM and at 8:00 AM the next day they had a three-man crew at my job site. They took apart my AC system, cleaning the coils and treating the coils with a mold killing agent as well as a mold inhibitor. They ran a brush down all of my vent pipes and treated all of the duck work with the same two chemicals. One of the men climbed into my air return and scrub down the entire area with a sponge and they removed all of my diffusers and hand clean them also treating them for mold. They also treated the three rooms of carpet with the appropriate mold mediation chemicals and then used an extractor to thoroughly clean the carpets. The carpets look great after they completed the job and their price was very reasonable. I would suggest Nola carpet cleaning for all of your AC duct work cleaning, in-house and oriental carpet cleaning. They did a great job. Oh and more thing, I house had less mold in it than the air outside did after they completed their remediation process.
Description of Work: I recently purchased a new rental property that turned out to have a serious problem due to mold contamination. Since time is money I needed a quick and effective solution in order to mitigate this problem as soon as possible. After eliminating the source of the contamination of the mold and properly treating the entire home I needed to find a company that could come out right away and do a complete ineffective mold treatment of my entire AC system and carpets.

First, we never got an accurate estimate. We were told it woudl cost $3/square foot to clean the rugs, but we didn't know how big our rugs were (he told us they would be measured when they got to the facility). We didn't get a written estimate of completion, we were told verbally that it woudl be difficult to get them back in 2 weeks as we wanted. We were flexible about that, but called once in June, once in July, and once in August to see when they would be returned and were told the chair wasn't ready because it needed so much work. We didn't get our rugs back until Nov 10th after four failed promises on a specific delivery date and time. Starting in September, we called weekly, and our calls would be returned every 4th-5th try. We heard every story int he book, warehouse damage, delivery truck wrecked, fired employees, big job out of town. We eventually were told that our rugs weren't labelled and we had to comb through digital photos to identify which were ours. I was told that there were many families in our situation, and then belittled by identifying how much their rugs were worth compared to ours and further insulted by calling our rugs Lowe's/Home Depot purchases when in fact they are hand hooked wool pieces of high quality. When they were returned finally, one rug was discolored and threadbare, and we were told it was due to insect damage, though we had no such infestation. All three rugs, but particularly the largest, had such an intense chemical smell that a guest had her first asthma attack in a year immediately upon entering the house. He wanted to charge us $800 for the service, which was laughable considering that it took 2 weeks after threatening a lawsuit and filing an affidavit with law enforcement stating that the rugs and chair were were stolen to get them back, and he was an hour and a half late for that promised delivery time as well. It seems to be a one man operation and he is clearly in over his head, a pathological liar, an addict, or some component of all three, because though he had many excuses, none could truly explain how bad the service was. It felt like our rugs were being held ransom and they weren't cleaned well. The whole experience was awful, the worst I've ever had, and now I have to deal with an even worse chemical smell than the pet odor they were sent off with.
Description of Work: The first week of June, soon after moving to our new house, they picked up three oriental rugs and a chair for cleaning. There was one stain on the largest rug, and the chair was badly soiled by our dog. All three rugs smelled like wet dog.

Response from Nola Carpet Cleaning
They recieved an accurate estimate based upon the sizes they announced the rugs were. They told us upfront that there rugs were used as potty pads and asked if we could remove the odor. The answer was yes and upon delivery and rug return display and final positioning under furniture the urine and dog odor was removed according to the client, hence payment was collected only at time of return. We do not take any monies upfront for our services only payable upon completion unless there is a third party preference to know and pay the bill immediately. Upon inspection at our cleaning facility insects were found (silverfish) in a rug so all textiles from the Ferras were put into a quarantine to assure that we did not cross contaminate the textiles of other clients. This took additional time and resources, we did not add additional funds to the original quote. After quarantine and treatment, we began the cleaning process. We only use direct solutions applied gently to rinse the urine and debris out of the textiles. (Many cleaners use aggressive machines, or steam cleaners which causes damage to the rug). With the significant odor involved in this case we were able to smell the extremely soiled rugs down the block from our facility over various other restaurants and businesses. The rugs went through the gentle appropriate cleaning process 30-50 times before we could not smell the malodor during the cleaning process at which point we began to encapsulate the rugs for a period of two days to ensure that no lingering malodorous material remained. And the optimism grew toward a return date. For the next couple of weeks even though the rug smelled great after the cleaning there was lingering odor upon opening the rugs from encapsulation. By this point, 90 or so days had passed. Many, many textiles had come in and out during this process. We service the entire metro St. Charles Parish and Northshore daily. Also many of our clients have other homes, family, properties so fairly frequently we handle Baton Rouge, Houma, Mississippi. At that point, upon a new hire and the subsequent firing of a very experienced technician; he had changed the identification process at our facility. Thier textiles were never in danger and were not harmed but we did have to verify 5 of 100ish rugs with a simple back and forth of emailed pictures. To account for what they call lies, we never return rugs when raining, we have vans but to get from the road to the home it he rain only causes moisture problems for the rug and the home. We have an ex Orleans Parish Sherriff on staff that will attest to no drug use and that is a blatant piece of slander stemming from a lack of character, wisdom, or moral fortitude. All personnel are subject to random drug screenings. What they have done in thier nonsensical claims is taken bits and pieces of conversations throughout the cleaning process and twisted them. The fact of the matter is they recieved far above and beyond what normal textile cleaning consists of and hence the delay. The first redelivery attempt was not kept due to an accident in which our driver was not at fault. When you have vehicles going from house to house day after day sheer odds in New Orleans say that it will happen. As far as law enforcement notification or attorneys, I am saying that is an absolute falsehood, we were never contacted by anyone outside of the family and I am just assuming that if there was any affidavit filed that we would have had some sort of visit, phone call, subpoena, which never occurred. The comment about where the rugs were purchased from is a common question over the phone as to whether we clean the urine in home or at our facility. The type of fiber not the cost determines what maybe necessary to remove all odor. Since I personally picked up these rugs I know this first hand. At the end of the day, they accepted return, due to the missed appointment, and length of time, they were happy with the $300 and all was well when we left. They made no mention of a chemical smell when redelivery took place. And due to federal law I have msds sheets on all materials in our facility none of which require a respiratory aid for lifelong use and exposure. An anti allergen product by Masterblend was used during their cleaning process due to the high volume of urine, dander, and hair in their rugs. So again, I do apologize for the length of time but even in the negative review demeaning me personally there was not an allegation of bad workmanship. The rugs were ruined by animals and restored to the best condition possible without a price increase as we could not roll out the rugs originally due to lack of space by dozens and dozens of boxes after their move.

I was impressed at first with this company. They responded quickly when we called and gave us an itemized estimate. They came on time to clean the air ducts. It was messy work. After it was over, I noticed black smudges all over the walls and ceilings. They also took one rug, some chairs, and drapes to clean at their facility. They said they would bring them back a week later. I had to call William to find out what time they were coming. He said the rug wasn't dry, so it would be another few days. I called several days later and he said he couldn't bring them back until it stopped raining. They apparently don't have a vehicle with a closed top. On the first sunny day, he said he couldn't come b/c he had a sick family member. Then, his vehicle broke down. Then, he stopped returning our calls. Eventually, we threatened to call the police b/c we had pre-paid for the work (actually, the roofer who caused the soot incident paid for this work) and they wouldn't return our calls or our stuff. Two and a half weeks after they were supposed to be finished, they brought the stuff back. The drapes were wrinkled. The rug was still black and the chairs were still ruined.
Description of Work: They cleaned the air ducts and took one rug, drapes and several chairs to remove soot that had come in due to chimney removal.

NOLA Carpet Cleaning did exactly the work I wanted to be done in a professional, courteous, friendly and somewhat affordable way.
Description of Work: The owner of NOLA Carpet Cleaning helped me from my initial phone call to inquire about having my son's fairly large bedroom wall to wall carpet cleaned. He was very helpful and friendly and was able to provide me an estimate of cleaning the bedroom, treating the stains and cleaning 3 area rugs. He was able to schedule an appointment very soon which was great because other carpet companies I had called had a week or two wait. When the owner arrived at my house to clean my carpets he was on time and I liked him immediately! I was 8 months pregnant at the time with my daughter who is now 4 months so I had questions and concerns about the products he was using being safe for a newborn. He spent time discussing the products he would be using and offered additional treatments for my carpets to keep them looking clean. He also talked to me extensively about what he would be doing and pricing. He is a very nice person and also has fair prices. The work he did looked awesome and I will definitely not only call NOLA Carpet Cleaning for all my carpet vleaning needs in the future but also refer this business to friends and family!!!

The staff were polite and helpful. It was an easy job and they were quick and efficient. There were others in the area that were a bit cheaper, but I felt the trust of the company's reputation and their equipment were worth spending the extra dollars. I would use this company again.
Description of Work: I had three small carpeted rooms with lots of stains from pets and old with use. The cleaning certainly removed the stains and the carpet looked much better and brighter after the cleaning.

I got a response early the morning after I contacted NOLA Carpet Cleaning via email the previous night.. William Merrill called and asked me about what services I was looking for. I explained my concerns, and he discussed what his options were, and what he recommended. He was very conservative in his recommendations, didn't push too many options to increase the cost. He explained there were steps in the cleansing process that may or may not be needed, depending on the condition of the carpet. He then described the products he would use and how they would specifically solve my problems. I shared my previous experience with another carpet cleaning company, how dissatisfied I was and what a poor job had been done; William explained how he would handle the job and avoid the shortcomings of the previous. I was very impressed with his product/process knowledge and professional manner. He even offered to rearrange another appointment (for a different service) to come and do my job the same day we spoke. He was quick and conscientious, taking care to avoid furnishings that weren't moved. I was asked to inspect the job upon completion, with explanation as to what I could expect as the carpet dried. He also advised about what to watch for if more treatment would be required for the pet stained areas. I am anxious to see what the outcome will be as the carpet is still damp. But if it lives up to the service provided, I will be more than satisfied!
Description of Work: Treated carpet with Microban pretreatment, targeting areas with pet urine stains and high traffic; then cleansed carpets.
