First, they were not busy and it took 3 weeks to hear back from them. When we went to pick it up, we took our own ramps, and they refused to load it using our ramp because of insurance purposes. They said that they had to load it with a forklift. The mechanic, who was not certified to operate the forklift, lifted it and then dropped the lawnmower. They said they would make it right, and we went back the next day and he repaired the light but did not do anything for the bent hood. I highly recommend anyone to stay away from them.
Description of Work: We took our Troy riding lawnmower to replace a belt and had them do a minor repair to the starter.

I was in need of a bearing and a bushing for a gas powered edger, rather than even try to match the needed parts he showed me an edger he had for sale at a price of $499.00. The two salesmen sit on the opposing sides of the counter, the person on the left side of the counter showed no interest in my request what so ever. He was beyond being a "Rude Idiot" and a whole bunch of other derogative adjectives. It would appear the two salespeople don't care for each other as they try to stay as far apart as possible. I went to Houma Bearing Service Inc. at 1881 Grand Caillou Rd. and in less than 5 minutes had the parts I needed and was treated like a customer would expect to be treated. In the future I will surely skip going to The Power Shop and go directly to Houma Bearing service if I need bearings and such. As for Lawn equiptment I will now go the Big Box Stores.
Description of Work: Not interested in selling repair parts would rather sell a new machine.

Since I had no other mower and had to cut grass, gave The Power Shop a call after seven days on Friday 06/07/2013. Was informed that upon inspection, found water in the fuel and varnish in the carburetor. Removed, soaked and cleaned the carburetor. Removed and flushed out the fuel tank. Added chemical treatment to fuel system to stabilize fuel and prolong life to fuel. Started and test ran unit. Checked operations. Was told the mower was ready for pickup. I arrived paid a total of $65.43 for services and left. Got the mower to my residence, started the mower (or tired to) and the mower was the same as when was brought to the Power Shop on 05/31/2013. It appeared to me the mower was not touched. On the handle of the mower in a plastic bag was a numbered statement which should have been filled out by the mechanic. The statement was blank. Rather than argue with these people at the Power Shop, I went to Sears and bought a Craftsman Self Propelled Lawn Mower. I did contact the Power Shop via their e-mail site and told them what I thought of their services. I would not recommend their services and will not go back to them. The customer in this current time, is not always right. Told the Power Shop to keep the faith that they could keep the change. End of story
Description of Work: The provider agreed to inspect and/or repair my Troy-Bilt self propelled mower - Model TB213 with a Briggs and Stratton Motor which suddenly stopped running on Friday, 05/31/2013. This mower was purchased from Lowe's on 04/09/2012 (2 year warranty). Always kept this mower under cover and kept it in excellent condition, wash away clippings after each mower session, changed oil when needed, changed air filter and made sure it wasn't clogged with dirt, etc., changed spark plug when required. Utilized gasoline stabilizer (1 oz. as recommended per gal. of gasoline). Emptied gas tank on mower when grass cutting season was over. In other good maintenance, whereupon others for the most part do not maintained their mower equipment.
