Description of Work: We used A Better Inspector for a home we were in the process is purchasing. While we found them a little more expensive than other companies we spoke with, I could tell even from the first phone call that they knew their stuff! Our inspector arrived early, took the time to walk us through all findings in detail and really empowered us to make an educated decision on the home. While we didn't end up purchasing the home, we were thrilled with the service. We will definitely be using them the next time we find a home!

Description of Work: Before we put our house on the market we wanted to get a professional inspection done. We got bids from 4 inspectors and selected A Better Insector. Steve Wolfe is the owner and he was out inspector. He came to the house at the exact time we had scheduled. He went around the house, inside and out, up and down, including getting up on the roof. He inspected for about three hours. He took many photos throughout his inspection. He showed me everything he was looking at, and told me about the issues. Within 24 hours he produced a multi-page report for me including photographs and details about each area inspected. He rated our house a very good, but he had several suggestions of things we could do to enhance our home, getting it ready for a buyer's inspection. Steve was professional, thorough, detailed, well-informed and he took his time with us. We used his inspection report to tweak issues in our home, like the radon detector exhaust pipe needed to be extended to a higher level, and we needed to put ground around our foundation slanting away from the home. We would use Steve again, and plan to hire him to inspect the home we will be buying.

 + -1 moreHe was all around fantastic. He was the husband of our Realtor and it worked out really well because his wife can recommend him and he can do the home inspection. He is incredibly thorough. More thorough than any home inspector that I have ever seen. He practically gave us a novel that listed everything on our house that could possibly be wrong or be upgraded, maintenance things and continued to email us once a month with home tips and things that we should look out for. He is incredibly honest and down to earth. He also did both mold and radon testing. He does have an assistant. I remember that he gave me a discount for no apparent reason other than being nice. I would use him again.

 + -1 moreSteve was very prompt in returning my initial call, scheduling the inspection, arriving at the scheduled time, and sending a detailed report of the inspection. Throughout the inspection process, which took over three hours, he was extremely thorough and professional in his inspection of every aspect of the property. He informed us at every step along the way of needed repairs and potential problems as well as points of high quality construction and/or maintenance. He also provided plentiful tips about proper maintenance in the future.
Description of Work: Complete and thorough inspection of property under consideration for purchase.
