There is a class action lawsuit against them on this product that supposedly has been settled, but I don't like the way it has been settled. The TV is 60 inches, it's a big one. My experience with them has been terrible. The model that I have is KDS-R60XBR1. I consider myself a Sony guy. I have Sony stuff all over my house. I wanted a TV and I did my home work. I thought I was buying the best TV of its kind. When I went on the website, I saw that the blob is probably going to come back. I know a lot of people for whom they had it corrected and it has come back. It didn't cost me anything. They told me they would take care of the problem. I googled the TV to see if there were any issues with its quality, but I never checked if the lawsuit was going on before I bought that TV. If it was, the store people didn't know about it. I should find that out because that could be a slam against the store. They came out and fixed it, but if I read the website, it seems like the problem keeps coming back and they are not taking care of it. I spent $3500.00 on the TV set. The price doesn't make any difference. We get what we pay for, but we expect it to work. It wasn't cheap, it was expensive. I am sorry to say that the quality was poor. This is the first time I have had a problem with them. I would never buy their product and I wrote that on their blog. Several of the other people that got on the blog are not going to do business with the company. They swore off them. I buy stuff all the time, but if it is Sony, I would say forget it. I don't know if they are a multi-billion dollar company, but it's going to be closing down fast. People would be crazy to buy anything from them. It doesn't matter to get a warranty on it because I spent $400.00 warranty on my TV and it didn't cover it. Imagine spending $400.00 on a warranty and it doesn't cover that part. To me that is insane. I am telling people out there that when they buy a product from the company, if something goes wrong with it, the company won't stand behind their product. They would just rather lose their business. I would like to have this TV replaced and if they played ball with me, I would buy another Sony. If they are not going to play with me, I am not interested in it anymore. I realized the problem last August. They replaced the bulb that they had to replace and took away the blotch and it is away right now. I only watch the TV maybe 3 hours a week because I am trying to save it. The longer and the more I use it, the chances of that thing coming up are greater. I am just trying to put it off as long as I can and so I watch TV somewhere else in the house because I have 5 or 6 TVs in the house. If there is a baseball game or a football game with my team, I come down and watch it. If I look at the blog and see the number of people they have messed up with, I am not going to waste my time trying to contact them. They are not going to work with us. I just want what everybody else that has faced the problem wants. We want the TVs replaced. Nobody is asking them to give us more than what we already invested. What everybody is asking for is to give us the credit that we paid on our TV towards another one. I think that is fair. I didn't try to contact them. I literally spent over 3 hours reading all the complaints on the website the first time I got on it. Everything that I would have done had been done repeatedly. So I just would have been another one in the mix. The lawsuit is for a specific period of time and if we pass that date we are on our own. The lawsuit didn't admit that they did anything wrong, but they did make an agreement to take care of the problem up to a certain date. The only problem is that they can take care of the problem which they did but it comes back. The class action lawsuit was settled before I had the problem. Anyone would be out of their mind to buy their products because even if they have a warranty, it won't make a difference. They will find a way to wriggle out of the deal. I have made an investment in the company with a lot of money on the TVs and radios that carry their name and for them not to be responsive when something goes wrong is to me not good business. I still want to be a Sony guy. I want them to be fair. I don't want them to give me what I don't deserve, but what I think I do deserve is for them to give me credit to go buy another TV set and I want the same 60 inch one because of what I set it up for. We don't know what we are dealing with until something goes wrong. Everything goes right and its all hunky dory. As soon as something goes wrong, that's when we find out who we are dealing with .That is when we find out how they take care of the problem.
Description of Work: The television company came out and fixed the problem I had on my TV after I called and complained. There was a green blob on the TV that came up.
