we have a "Service Agreement" through a company called Service Protection Advantage. they deserve a whole book for the review they should get. My recommendation would be to never use them. we spent a week trying to get them to get a local appliance repair company out to work on our dryer. When they were unable to do that we went through the phone book & finally found "Mid-America Appliance". They were very polite over the phone. The technicians sowed up on time and were polite and relatively neat in appearance. It seemed that one technician was training the other however neither one really seemed to be proficient. They decided the fuse was probably bad and changed it out for a new one. The charge was $75 and when we ran a load of clothes through it the next day the dryer was still getting excessively hot. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone

We explained to the technician from Mid America Appliance that our washer was not draining during the rinse cycle. The machine would just pause at that point in the cycle. No error code. No draining. No sound. We were not sure if the drain pump was broken or if there was something wrong with electricity reaching the drain pump. We had read the troubleshooting forum on the LG website.
The technician reached under the machine, felt around for the drain pump and said the drain pump was "too tight." We asked if he needed to PLUG IN the washer and TURN IT ON to assess the problem. He declined and stated it would cost $150 for parts and labor.
I contacted the manager Olgie? at Mid America Appliance the next day. I told her we were dissatisfied with the assessment of our washer. We were doubtful of the technician's estimate because he NEVER TURNED ON the washer to assess the problem. She sounded surprised, asking "He never turned the washer ON?" then stated she would talk to the technician and call me back. She did not return my call, so I called her back. She told me the technician was unloading an appliance and she did not have a chance to talk to him. I asked if it was standard practice for the technician to give an estimate without turning the machine on. She said the technician had worked there for a long time so it was possible he knew what the problem was, but she did not know why he did not at least turn the washer on. She said she would talk to the technician and call me back. She never returned my call.
I would not recommend using Mid America Appliances for washer repair estimates or washer repairs.
