The total job would have cost $250 if I had not had the coupon.
Martin was a joy to work with. His British wit and accent were charming, and made talking with him fun. It was apparent he brought the "Old World" quality with him from England. His pricing was very reasonable for all the work he performed and I will definitely use Aqua Pro Window Washing again --- soon! This will most like be an annual appointment if I can wait that long.
. I bought a LivingSocial deal for window cleaning on April 15th. I spent the next 5 weeks trying to reach AquaPro to schedule my appointment and only ever got their voice mail, with no return calls. Finally, at the end of May, I got a call back and scheduled an appointment for June 17.
Appointment day comes, and I get a call about 1/2 an hour before they're supposed to be here, letting me know they're going to be late because of a blown tire. Fine, these things happen, no problem. They show up about an hour later, and one half of the team goes to start looking at the job while the other unloads the truck... only to come back in a few minutes later, very apologetic and looking ashamed, to tell me they've made a mistake and didn't load the right equipment to do my job and could they possibly reschedule? Annoying, aggravating, but if they don't have the equipment, what else am I going to do? So we reschedule; the next available date was June 27th, for 9:00 am. 9 is earlier than I'd like on my day off, but I took it.
By 9:42 am, after getting up at 7:00 on my day off, no one had arrived, I hadn't received a call to say they're running late. No one was answering their phone, so I left yet another voice mail. By this point, I was wondering if I could get my money back from Living Social.
They called back about 15 minutes after I left my voicemail; the main guy had an accident since I'd last talked to him, and is unable to work at the moment. He said he'd sent me a text at 8:30, but since the only number he has is my home phone, I didn't get it, which he hadn't realized since he didn't get a pingback from the text saying it didn't work. Very polite and apologetic again; we rescheduled once more for July 5th.
July 5th arrives, and the owner shows up (15 minutes early, good), with his equipment. We went over what windows were being cleaned, and he apologized several times for the problems. I had nothing better to do, so I wandered along behind him, and we chatted a bit while he worked. He did a beautiful job on all the windows, including some on my smoking porch that I didn't think would ever be really clean - they were sparkling when he was done. There were 2 windows he was unable to clean completely, but that was because the windows are old and the screen releases are rusted shut; he came and told me what was going on with them, and I decided he shouldn't continue trying to get the screens off, we'd just skip the outsides of those 2 (they're on the second floor anyway, so other than rain spots they weren't that dirty). Naturally, I wasn't charged for those two.
So overall, the work was great - all my windows are sparkling clean for the first time since I moved here 7 years ago (I'm really awful at window cleaning, always ends up a streaky mess). The scheduling was a hot mess, and they need to be a little more proactive in returning calls, even if it's just to say 'sorry, we'll need to call you back on scheduling' - although I did find out it's a very small company, which is why they don't have a receptionist handling the calls and scheduling. I would definitely consider using them again, as long as I wasn't on a deadline (although really, how often do you need to be on a deadline for window cleaning?).
