Andy's Pipe Dream

On the coldest day of the year, I noticed a big ice dam hanging off an outdoor faucet. When I closed the shut-off valve, it started to leak from the valve. It wasn't a big leak but enough to be worrisome. I called Andy's Pipe Dream and spoke with a very pleasant woman who had Andy call me back within 5 minutes. He was able to schedule a repairman by noon and Chad was able to start a liitle earlier at 11 AM. He gave me 4 proposals to for fixing the problem. We went the shut-off valve repacement. Everything went well. I was very pleased with how fast I could get a repair done.

Andy and his team was quick to react. I called and they were there the next day. The gas leak was shut off at the relay switch before it got to the fireplace. I could not finish the work on installing the fireplace logs, so Chad went to work and got it done quick. We split the difference and I had him install the burner and replace the old leaking connection with a nice new one. I then took over and arranged the logs and finished the job. This was a very good experience and I just thank my lucky stars that I called Andy and his team. I certainly will use them again, and probably put them on speed dial according to my past history of installing things.

I called Andy's Pipe Dream the morning of 5 December. The receptionist took my basic information and obtained my call back number. Within 5 minutes Andy returned my call and set me up with an appointment between 3 and 5 PM that afternoon. Chad, the technician, called at approximately 3:15 PM and said he would arrive in approximately 20 to 30 minutes, and he arrived approximately 20 minutes later. He assessed the problem, gave me repair options, and gave me estimated costs based on which avenue we pursued. The toilet bowl had to be pulled, the flange repaired and the toilet reset. The low water pressure was due to a defective pressure reducing valve. Chad had all the needed items on his truck and even though it was late in the day he offered to complete the repairs. He was timely, very efficient, and totally professional. He made the repairs, gave a full detailed description of the work he did, and the warranties included with them to both me and my wife. In addition, the area's where the work was accomplished was left spotless. Should we experience plumbing problems in the future Andy's will be the first person we contact. We strongly recommend Andy's to those needing plumbing work.

Put in a backup sump pump, checked possible gas leak, and minor plumbing tasks. They showed up on time, were highly professional, and very helpful in explaining alternatives in addressing plumbing issues. They also provided estimates that were consistent with actual charges. I will definitely use them again and recommend them to others.

He came out the very same day. I called around 3 pm without hot water to take showers the next day and he came out by 5 that evening. He did not charge any trip fee to Angie members. Most plumbers I called wanted at least $90. He also gave me a 10% discount for being and Angie's list customer. He had my hot water fixed within 30 minutes and showed me the broken part. He guaranteed his work for the next year. If the same item breaks on my heater, he will replace/repair for free. While he was here I had him fix a leak under my sink and fix my shower that was sticking. He fixed all things within an hour and they work great. I will have him back to fix a drain in my tub and another leaking sink soon!

We first discovered Andy's Pipe Dream this summer from Angie's List when we needed a plumber to repair a leaking bath tub. We used the company again to repair a defective drain. Based on those two experiences, the company (and Chad) has become our company of choice to handle all of our routine plumbing problems. This third call was to check out a suspected gas leak around our gas fireplace logs. Chad came out quickly, identified the location of the leak (in the feed line located in the crawl space) and drafted a proposal that included two options, depending on what he might discover after he actually began the repair. Chad completed the work within an hour, charging the least expensive of the two options. In the process of repairing the fitting in the supply line, Chad repaired a second fitting as preventive maintenance.

Did a very good job for what we were needing at the time.

There was leak from the water heater. They came and gave us possible options as to what the problem might be. We decided to change the pressure valve first to see if it would fix the leak and it did so we did not have to replace the water heater. I really liked the fact that he explained all the possible reasons there could be a leak and did not just suggest replacing the water heater.

Quick, efficient, knowledgeable, arrived on time. Presented several options for fixing the problem. We decided to have him change the shut off valve, and it seems to be working much better than before. Would recommend them any time.

I called on Monday to see when I could get someone to come out and clean out my kitchen drain. Andy said the earliest would be on Wednesday between 10-12. On Wednesday, Chad called me a little after 11:00 to tell me he was running late because of a job he was on. I said that was okay; I was working from home and was going to be here all day. He called again when he was ready to leave the job he was on and that he was on the way to my house and would be there within 45 minutes and he was. When he got here I told him what my issue was with the kitchen sink. It wasn't completely blocked but might as well of been since the water took forever to drain. He warned me that sometimes the 'snaking' of the drain doesn't always work but if it didn't and we had to do something else then the money I was paying for this service would be applied to whatever our next plan was. Anyway, Chad went to it and thankfully in less then 30 minutes (sorry, I was working while he was doing it so don't know exactly how much time it took) he had it all cleaned out. He was very nice and professional. He told me if the sink backed up in the next 90 days he would come out and do it again for free. I am very happy with their service and I will be using them for any future plumbing issues I have.

Chad did a great job!!!!!!!!!!! He's very professional and he knows his stuff. He gave us a fair estimate and explained everything to us. And he even figured out why the tank went bad so fast. They are my go to guys from now on. I am recommending them to our whole subdivision.

Contacted this company due to a leak we noted in our garage ceiling, which is partly right below our master bath. They were prompt and able to come out the same day as call. Worked thoroughly to evaluate the leak and explained and worked with my husband throughout their investigation. Even though the leak turned out to not be a plumbing issue, but likely a roofing issue, the plumber took consideration for our concerns, and did a good job of investigating things and explaining his processes. I would definitely call them again in the event of an actual plumbing problem. ,

New faucet does not leak and solved the winter freezing problem as well. Provider was informative, came when he said he would, gave us a 2-year warranty on the faucet, was friendly and efficient. We were very pleased.

This is the third time we have used Andy's Pipe Dream & we have been very pleased with their work, price & professionalism. The initial contact conversation is with Andy but Chad is the one who usually does our work. He calls before arriving. This time three of the home's original outside faucets had leaks - we wanted all four replaced for practicallity. We had a problem with the home's main water valve was difficult to turn & was not totally shutting off the water. Chad prepared the work proposal - including the Angie's discount. (There is no service charge if they do the work.) The cost was below my expectations & he was able to do the work the same day. Marvelous. We now have 4 self-draining exterior faucets/hydrants and an easy to use flat handle main water valve. All with a two year warranty. Chad does the work very well & cleans up after himself nicely. On prior visits we have had a ceiling pipe leak repaired, a toilet repair, a kitchen faucet repair & a garbage disposal replaced.

They were nice on the phone and came right out to see the problems. The workman was kind and had experience. However, the bill for the work was way out of line. To be fair I did not address the high bill with the company I just chose not to use the service. I looked up some of the services (online) and what needs to be charged and was astonished at the mark up. I ended up fixing two problems myself and hiring someone else to fix the other two problems at a savings of about 800 dollars. Again, to be fair, I did not give the company a chance to explain the high cost...they may wanted to have done more that I needed but I thought the prices were way too high. It always pays to get more than one bid. There was no charge for the estimate and they treat Angies List customers well...I would call them again in the future but will pay close attention to the cost.

Excellent experience. This repair had a sense of urgency as we were moving out with hours to get our stuff out, clean up and allow the new owner's to take possession. With discouraging efforts trying to find a plumber to help in a time of need, Andy's Pipe Dream came through. Chad said he was close and arrived onsite shortly after our phone call. He identified the source of the water leak, had the new valves and parts to fix the problem. He had to cut into the dry wall to install the new valves. He made a nice, neat and small cut which was easily repaired. He cleaned up the work area and was quick and diligent with the repair. We have Chad's number saved and will use him for all of our future plumbing needs. I would strongly recommend Andy's Pipe Dream for plumbing services.

The contractor was friendly, and punctual. He completed the work within a couple of hours. Cleaned up after himself and gave me an additional bid for future work I am considering.

Chad came to our house right on time. He examined several questions I had about clogged drains and sewage smells. No work was performed but I did receive proposals for a few jobs they could do if there wasn't a way for me to figure it out. He wasn't trying to sell me on doing the job and was very helpful! I'd definitely call again if I needed work done.

Chad immediately diagnosed the issue. Ordered/received part through Delta Faucet and Chad installed the part. Faucet works great now.

Had waited several weeks for an appointment with another company. Their price was high, and the technician was unpleasant when I asked questions. I called Andy, and he was able to give me an appointment the very next morning. Chad arrived promptly and diagnosed my issues, providing several options where the other plumber only gave me one. When I decided to proceed, Chad rearranged his schedule to go ahead with the work, and then he worked non-stop to get it all done very quickly. The price was reasonable and less than the other plumber, especially with the Angie's list discount. Chad also took the time to explain everything thoroughly. I have cold water from my kitchen faucet now for the first time in a long time thanks to Chad.

Their response time was quick, within 24 hours. The gentleman was nice that came out and gave us a bid, but he acted like he didn't know how to actuallly do it. He did give us a bid, but found it to be too high, especially that we did not have confidence in him.

Overall the task went very well. Chad was friendly, professional, and didn't leave until all work was completed. After he rerouted the plumbing, he did a pressure test and immediately found issues that he resolved while on site the same day. By completing the work and ensuring it would pass inspection, he allowed me to get my gas hooked back up the next day. It was not a cheap job, and additional costs were incurred due to the issues discovered during the pressure test. Other than that, Chad did great work. He was courteous, professional, and most of all efficient. I've already requested him again to hook up a new gas line to my pool heater.

It was fine for the work performed except for the tech kept wanting me to text him information. It did list that this company comes to Smithville but when I requested work to be done in Smithville I was told it wasnt worth the money to drive there.

This was an A+ from the get go. My initial call was answered politely and the appointment was scheduled. I was given a 4 hour window, and they were able to get to my house 2 hours earlier than promised. The plumber gave me 3 options that would fix the problem, and I picked the middle one. Total cost was $183.

Quickly diagnosed a problem that the prior plumber (B&L Plumbing) misdiagnosed. He said a new faucet wasn't needed (we had already purchased one based on what the other plumber told us) but the shut off valve and that he would go ahead and install the new faucet but knew it wasn't the problem. In the process of trying to shut off water to replace the shut off value under the sink, he found that the main shut-off valve wasn't working (this is a condo) so we had to reschedule to get that done when the complex could have the water shut off to the entire building. They worked with our schedule to make it work for everyone. Great service.rk
