We contracted for quarterly service. They always called the day before they would be at the house. If we only wanted the outside of the house and yard, we didn't end to be home. Generally we had them do the interior once a year and needed to home for that application. As "buggy" as this summer has been, I called for a return application on the yard about a week after they had done the quarterly. They were very prompt in providing the follow-up application. We never had spiders or crickets or other bugs inside after the first application. We're moving from Kansas City and regret that Edge is not available in San Antonio.

There are really two grades here ... one is an "F", the other is an "A". Explanation: THE "F": I live 20 freeway minutes from the location of the service so asked i be called a half hour before they were arriving, which they did. Trouble is, THEY WENT TO THE WRONG ADDRESS ... they went to my home address instead of the service address. Headquarters very apologetic, offered a free "return visit", and we rescheduled. Again they called saying they were on their way, I drove over, waited, and waited. This time THEY WENT TO THE WRONG STATE! Correct street address, wrong State! I just couldn't believe it. But I'd already wasted over 3 hours of my time and money so I waited another 45 minutes for technician to arrive. This fellow was VERY strange. Hard to describe, but it was a little like talking to a robot ... not listening to what i had to say, not taking the slightest interest in what i was experiencing, etc. The service work was for my duplex and the guy said he'd only do half of it! I told him he better call headquarters (Omaha) because of my frustration ... he said "I don't deal with money matters". I flip out ... . he calls, and of course, they tell him to do the entire building, which he does. THE 'A': I have to say, I thought he did an excellent and thorough job .. spending quite a bit of time on the property. Had it not been for the awful screwups above, I would have rated entire experience an "A"> I would like to add they stood behind their "free return visit" and that technician was terrific.

I don't think Edge were very good. The people that came out were friendly, nice, and professional. They are trying to do their job. They came out in the snow, and sprayed. I told them that was doing nothing for me. I felt they were wasting my money. I had a two year contract with them. They charged $108 every quarter. I couldn't go out in the yard, because I would have been eaten alive with all the bugs that were out there, which should have been taken care of. I still had tons of ants every where the day after they sprayed. They said they were in clusters and that is why they were coming out. There were little bees or something that were digging holes in the yard, and the first time I called them, the guy said that those were just rain drops coming through my dill and making the holes. I told him they were not, and he just blew me off. I grabbed one of the guys when they came, and showed him that there were little insects in the hole. It was the little things like that that bothered me, and there was no way to get out of the two year contract. The price seemed a little high, but I haven't compared it with anyone. They were usually here on time. The people who came out were good.
Description of Work: They sprayed the inside, and outside perimeter for insects, rodents, and any other thing that was critter wise. I still had insects all the time, but you could call them back, but who wants to call them back every week, when they should have taken care of it in the first place.

Aside from a some trouble making appointment and trying to get me to buy ongoing service that perturbed me, the service performed was very good and thorough. I will be interested to see how well it works over the next few weeks. Technician was very good and did more than I was expecting. Highly recommend at this point.

My husband is kind of in charge of who we use for that particular thing. They come inside and do that when I want them to, otherwise they’ll just do the outside if we’re not there. I haven’t had any problems.

I have a good experience with them. They're very responsive. We just pay a single fee four times a year. They do applications regularly and also come out if there's a problem. I'm very satisfied. They seem to be off with their system and it's hard to get into their phone tree but they call back if we leave a number. I had to leave a message the last time and within two hours, somebody got back to me. They're always very courteous and prompt.

They do a really good job and I am on a quarterly plan with them. The other thing that I like about them is that they do not have to come in the house. They do everything outside so you do not have to be home when they do the service and then if spiders appear, they will come in and re-treat. They just tell you that they are coming but you do not have to be home and then they automatically do the service, so it is really simple. They tell me that they are coming but I do not go home. If someone had a particular problem and they wanted to point it out to them then their punctuality would be important but I have not had to do that before so I do not know how to grade their punctuality.
Description of Work: The last time that I used Edge Pest Control was probably in mid-May. I had a particular issue because I live by the lake and there are some spiders and stuff that would hang in my windows and I could never keep them to go away so they took care of it.

My contract with Edge Pest Control expired in March of 2014. I tried to call today to cancel their service and got the run around. The terms of the contract state you have to call with in 30 days of your next appointment which I am doing. So far today I have left 4 messages and SURPRISE, no one has called back. The number for the local office goes to a call center and the reps I spoke to stated they do not have the ability to cancel a service but can setup a new one for you in no time. The last time I called I asked to speak to a Supervisor. I was put on hold for 10 minutes or so waiting for a live supervisor to answer the call and when the phone transferred it went to voice mail. The service is sub-par in my opinion. They spend 10 minutes stating they are spray outside my home. I did bring up that I saw an ant in my home. The guy asked where and I showed him. He put down a couple of drops of bait. Not doing the entire home but just where a visual sighting was made. I am not an exterminator but even I know that if you see one pest others are lurking elsewhere in the home. After reading the reviews for this company they are all regarding the problems with the companies contracts. I would not recommend this company in any way shape or form. ****Update. I did finally get a hold of Devin Wagstaff, Manager at Edge Pest Control who offered better service and discounts. I told him until they changed their contract policy and the ability to make cancelling service easier I would not be using them any longer.******

They have been great, they have been excellent. We have a contract with them. They come 3 times a year. I wouldn't say they are cheap, but their prices are competitive. We are moving to Iowa, so if they are in the Iowa area, we will use them.

I had a very good experience. They come out four times yearly and it costs about $100 each time. On subsequent treatments they put down dry granules on the outside in the yard They also spray and knock down spider webs outside. We have had them for two years and have only seen one spider since then. The service went really well.

They never came out, however, I received a bill in my email. This company has been revoked by the BBB. They have you sign a contract on a tablet but they do not give you a copy of teh contract that you sign. Afterwards I found out that the contract is for 2 years, and if you try to cancel they will charge you 60% of whatever is owed on the contract. I would have never signed up if I would have known this.

I think Edge has quality service, but they are over-priced and when you sign up they sort of glaze over the part that it is a 2 year contract that is impossible to get out of. I was in a very desperate place being that I am self employed and needed to cut costs, so I called to cancel my service and you have to pay 60% of the remaining contract to get out of it! So, needless to say, that would be a waste of money. So I rode my contract out and cancelled as soon as my contract expired. The service men that came to the house were always professional and polite, but the people in the call center were pushy and rude and made it difficult for me to cancel even when my contract had expired.

I'm not happy with the experience. The issue was on-going treatment they're like trick you, they have this issue over and over if you don't use the service you still have to pay for it. I didn't want more treatment, their issue was I had a contract; it's kind of un-favory sales practices.

The service went fine. I could not believe the reviews. I did not realize they were on Angie's List and on the bad part of Angie's List until after I contracted with them. I had absolutely no problems. They do a really thorough job and do anything I want them to. I don't have them do anything on the inside of the house because I have not seen any bugs or anything like that on the main floor. I do have them spray in my basement. They also spray around my foundation and part of my yard. They wipe all of the cobwebs down outside and in the basement. They shut the gates, like a lot of people won't, and it just has been real good. I have had a good experience with them. On their last visit they could not treat my backyard because the gates were frozen so I called them back later. They came back when I called and did the treatment at no charge. I have had no problems with them at all.

I was looking for a new exterminator when a salesman from Edge knocked on the door. He explanined the service and contract and that the chemicals used were eco-friendly. He also explained that the one year contract would include 5 treatments, one each quarter and one 6 weeks after the first to ensure insects hatching out of eggs not killed by the first treatment would be eliminated. Both of the treatments so far have been scheduled according to my convenience and performed efficiently. The ants were eliminated shortly after the first treatment. After a rain there were a few more that showed up in the kitchen but they quickly disappeared after a couple of days and there has been no more activity. I have been very happy with the people and service provided by Edge.

They originally came to my door, as a telemarketer and explained what they did. As I do not like bugs, I okayed for them to start. They started about 3 months ago or so, last one done the end of August. I must say that they so far have done a very good job, wiping down the spider webs, wasps nest, and the critter stuff outside. I know a few people have had trouble with them, but I have not. I knew at the beginning it would be a year contract and if you saw bugs they would come back out at no charge. Again, I would recommend them as they have done a very good job with my home.
