Very pleased. The installation crew started at 8am and finished up around 8pm in one day. They were very professional, they cleaned up after themselves, and were considerate of us working from home that day as well as needing to keep pets corralled while the work was underway. The owner collected payment only after the work was completely done to our satisfaction. The price was very competitive and our experience was very positive.

We are very happy with our new windows, new sliding door, gutter guards, downspouts and all the little repairs John and his team did for us. They went above and beyond what we expected. I am happy with the price and service they provided. I will use them again in the future and would recommend.

Zen Windows does business differently than most -- they come out and take a look at your needs, then they go back and prepare a quote. There are no high-pressure sales pitches or silly sales tactics. John Sims came to my house, looked at the windows I wanted replaced, showed me a sample window, and answered my questions about energy efficiency. I then received an email quote that evening. No pressure at all. I didn't do everything that was on the quote; I decided to do four full-size double-hung windows and three basement casement windows. The installer, George, came out to measure each. I also decided to have one storm door installed. For this, I purchased the door at Lowe's (Zen doesn't provide doors), and they picked it up and installed it for $125. The windows took a little over three weeks to arrive, and we scheduled an installation date. George and a helper arrived promptly that morning and got right to work. Late in the day, around 5:00, George called in another person for the storm door, because they were having problems getting it installed. I got the strong impression that they had little experience with installing doors. However, two other people arrived around 5:30, and they new exactly what to do, thank goodness. They finished up by 7:30 while George and the first helper were putting the final touches on the windows. It was a long day, but they got it done, and I couldn't be happier. The windows are excellent quality and I can tell an extreme difference in the amount of summer heat coming through them. The installers were also excellent and did a high-quality job. George also took the time to show me how they work as far as cleaning and using the night lock. I was also delighted with the storm door, even though that part didn't go as planned. I would definitely use Zen again for doors, but I would make sure the "door guy" that George called in later was going to be on the job. And there's absolutely no doubt I would call Zen again for windows. In fact, I wouldn't call anyone else!

Everything about Zen Windows was first class. From the owner John Sims who came out several times to his installer crew was great. They were knowledgeable, efficient, patient and courteous with our many questions. We priced 3 different companies and Zen was very reasonably priced and and offered no bull like we received from others. They cleaned up after themselves and hauled away all debris. If the need arises for more windows we would use them again in a heartbeat.

I am very pleased with my new windows! They are beautiful, and the installation was performed in a timely and professional manner. I did notice that the grids in one of the windows didn't quite match it's partner, but John at Zen Windows was diligent in contacting the manufacturer to get the window replaced with one that matches it's partner perfectly. The window was replaced at no additional charge. I would definitely recommend Zen Windows to anyone contemplating replacement windows.

John and his crew were a pleasure to work with. They arrived promptly to do the initial estimate, to measure the two windows prior to ordering, and to install the finished product. Unlike other companies from whom I got estimates, John did not require a deposit prior to ordering the new windows. The installation went very smoothly and the crew of two men worked efficiently to do the installation, including cleaning up after themselves. The new windows are beautiful and very well made. The windows fit nicely and were sealed well inside and outside. I would definitely hire these guys again.

Besides Being a great guy John's work is professional and done right. Great company and great prices. George and his crew were very professional as well, work was tidy and done with care. Just want to say say thanks to George and John, and would highly reccomend zen windows!!!

We really really liked the company owner, John Sims. He was pleasant, interesting to talk to, seemed forthright and trustworthy. He did not require any money down but only expected to be paid when the job was completed. He said he'd order the windows and we could expect it to be about two weeks before they came in. We tweaked the order some, adding another window, and changing the between-glass grid. The windows did not come in from the manufacturer when expected, and we didn't hear from John about the delay. After four weeks, I tried to get in touch with him but my calls and emails were not returned. (It turned out that he was out of pocket for a couple of weeks and no one was returning calls.) It was about 9 weeks before the windows came in instead of two, which he said was due to a busy time of year for the manufacturer. I was disappointed that communication was not better. The work was performed as agreed, the worker was on time and worked efficiently when removing the old windows. When he came to install the new windows, he brought another guy who wasn't quite as careful, but they got the job done. They reinstalled our blinds, and in so doing, one of the long wands that's used to twist the slats open and shut was broken. I wasn't informed of the mishap, but the broken parts were hidden behind a bookcase, so it was later that I discovered them and asked the owner to replace it. He agreed to be on the lookout for one. A couple of months later I replaced it myself. This may have only been another breakdown in communication. One of the windows developed a crack in the glass during a strange weather pattern in which it went form sub-freezing to very warm overnight. That window was in a very unprotected space and that side of the house always heats up the most and the fastest. We called him and he said it occasionally happens when there is an abrupt change in temperature, and he was very fast in ordering another pane and replacing it. We were glad that the after-the-sale service was so good.

All work was done in 1 day. Job was very neat and old windows hauled away.

I called Zen windows and Jon Sims came by and explained what type of window options I have and brought in a sample of a double hung window as well as a brochure to show the different functions of a new double hung window. Also told me the window and glass company that they use. I felt no pressure to buy anything and there is no deposit. He explained to me that it takes about 3 weeks for the windows to be delivered after they measure it. Then the window installer (name is George) called to make a time with me to come out and measure the window(s) which only took about 15min. Then Jon called me back to let me know the windows were finished. George gave me a call to schedule a time to install them. Two window installers came by and installed the windows which took them about 3 hours to do 3 windows and they cleaned up after themselves very well. After they finished they went over the functions and care of the windows. Jon called me the same day to find out how everything went and how they look and scheduled a time to come over and go over the warranty with me. Jon Sims was just a call away for any questions I had and answered them promptly. He is very professional and has been selling windows for 20-30 years now. One day Jon gave me a call to explain to me that the windows were taking longer than anticipated due to an order mix up at the manufacturer. He deeply apologized and said he would reduce the price of the windows as well as giving us a 50 dollar gift certificate to a restaurant (it was a nice restaurant by the way). My wife and I are very pleased to have been referred to Zen Windows from an acquaintance of ours. In the future we plan on replacing all the windows in the house and we are happy that we found a great window company to use.

The bid was timely and detailed. The schedule for doing the measurement was timely. An approximate date was given for the time needed to receive the windows and doors and when one door did not meet the requirements as measured, we were notified and were given the details for the replacement parts to complete the door. Since that would be a change from the original door we expected, we approved the change. The installation was done the day the complete order was received. We are very pleased with the doors and windows. The installation crew (led by George) was competent and worked very diligently to complete the work in order to meet all our expectations.

We noticed water in our unfinished basement and traced it back to a leaky, squishy window on the first floor. After contacting Zen windows, the owner sent out his lead installer who inspected all of our windows (he was the only one out of three companies to do so) and made suggestions on what repairs could be done and which ones should be replaced. I was very impressed with the response time by Zen Windows, the thoroughness of the man who came to inspect the windows, and the no-pressure sales technique. Their prices were also very reasonable. Unfortunately, we were really set on having real wood interiors and not wood-look vinyl, which Zen did not carry. However, Zen did wow me with their service and professionalism. I would not hesitate to use them in the future.

Project went as well or better than expected. The windows were installed in a triplex. Even though 30 day notice had been given to all occupants, one tenant was difficult to work with. Zen Windows provided via e-mail a 3 page flyer of what to expect so that I could print and deliver to occupants, along with dates of installation. Tenant is an artist/horder that had possessions stacked to ceiling in front of windows and only narrow paths to walk/access each room of the 1 bedroom apartment. Tenant also has bum leg and various ailments making situation even more difficult. When John informed us that our special order windows of bronze exterior/almond interior, would be arriving a week early; tenant still needed the additional time to prepare for installation. John's professional installers worked with us through this situation and completed all other windows in the building and returned the following week on Monday, April 20th to complete the job. Tenant had invalid or petty complaints throughout installation, even though the informational flyer that they had recieved clearly outlined what was occuring. Throughout the 2 to 3 hours it took to install the windows in the one bedroom unit, John's team of installers worked quickly and effieciently to please everyone. During the install a previous termite infestation that had been successfully treated by a prior owner was discovered. It was in the base wood of a window that is close to the ground in the lower or garden unit of the building. They called me in to look at the situation. It was decided to remove the damaged wood and confirm that there was no activity of pests. Once that was done, one of the installers left to get new replacement material. Within an hour they told me that $50 was the cost of the repair and that I may possibly have to have an outside repairman for the drywall, because they do not do drywall. As it turned out; they did everything with minimal excavation and all I had to do was a little touch up paint. No drywall repair was needed. Installers were on time. Picked up and cleaned all debris. Did not leave cigarette butts. Additionally, we had one small owners unit that is not a complete apartment, but just a sleeping room with a window unit air conditioner. We bought new pleated adjustable sizers that were to be placed and fitted on either side of the A/C unit and John's team reinstalled the A/C better than it was before. Just an amazing job. We are very pleased and have recommended Zen Windows to anyone we know that asks about the new windows or are contemplating new windows. For the one tenant it was like giving childbirth. For the rest of us it was easy while the installers did all the hard work. Now that is over, EVERYONE loves the new windows that can be easliy open and closed with no cloudiness and crystal clear views.

He came over to my house, went through the house showing him the windows I needed to be replaced. We sat down discussed all the options and the windows that he installs, and we had an agreement. He promised to give us a quote that evening and sure enough he did. We went through the quotation and we gave him a go ahead. He ordered for the windows, and almost or exact time that he had said he would come to install he did. His work is thorough and of high quality. Never asks for money before the job is done and does not harass you at all until you are satisfied.I have worked with a few contractors, but Zen stands out among them all. You give his a try, and you will not regret.

John's insulation team started at 8 am sharp on the 30th and worked all through the day then returned promptly at 7:30 am the next day to finish the job. A total of 12 windows were replaced and wrapped as well as replacing an attic vent. The team cleaned up any mess made inside and outside of our home; you wouldn't of thought we just replaced 12 windows. John came by both days to ensure all was going well. John's integrity and the passion for service is impressive; he has exceeded my expectations. We still have the basement windows to replace and will be calling John in the near future.

Jorge has very friendly and looked over the problem and was honest by telling me he had no solutions to the leaking problem. He did say he would go ahead and measure the windows in question and pass all of the information on to the owner who would be in contact with me. After making this making this statement, Jorge and a coworker jumped in their truck and left without taking the measurements. You guessed it, the owner never followed up. I have had other "Angie list" window contractors stop by and they have all had different opinions as to what the appropriate fix is to my problem, but at least they have shown an interest. At the end of the day, one of the three window companies is going to "win" the bid to replace/upgrade ALL 19 of my "builder grade" windows.

We originally had Window World come out to do a bid and then, through our furnace guys, got the recommendation of Zen Windows. We called John and he came within two days to give us the run down and an estimate. He was very professional and kind, willing to work with us when a few of our windows had to be rethought. It took some time for the windows to come in, but we were in no hurry as we had the whole house to rehab. They were all in before winter hit and we were very pleased with the installation as it was finished within the day. We found the screens to be a bit awkward, but otherwise there is no complaint with the window. We had some difficulty with one of the custom designs not having a blind that retracted completely, but John worked wonderfully with us again and the manufacturer and ordered a new window with the correct internal blind structure. He worked tirelessly and kept us updated at every opportunity. We really felt like we were in good hands and we would recommend Zen Windows to anyone needing these services. Thanks, John!!

John of zen windows was very professional and punctual from the very next day after contacting him. After a few minutes of talking he explained the process he would be using. He would come out, show us a demonstration of the windows and then would take measurements. All of took less than 20 minutes and then left informing is he would email us his bid. We did not go with John for personal reasons having nothing to do with him,but based on his presentation, professionalism, and no hassle method of doing business I would absolutely recommend him to anyone and everyone! The windows he provides are of top quality and would be a great addition to anyone looking to improve their home.

John Sims came to our home and went through all of the options for replacement windows for our entire house. We placed the order in February but did not want them to be installed until the weather got better. We decided on mid March. Jorge came to our home and masured all of our windows and Zen placed the order. We moved all of the furniture and protected the curtains before they arrived so that the work could go smoothly. The crew of three, lead by Jorge, arrived on time, and started work at once. They removed the old storm windows and the old wood windows. They hauled these away. They then install all 16 windows. There were many different styles and configurations. They started work at 8:300 and finished at 4:15. Everything was cleaned up, the windows were cleaned and none of the outside plantings were trampled on. They did a great job. What a great crew!!! John came by later to inspect, show us how the windows worked and explained what to do if anything happened to these windows. An overall excellent experience.

John was very responsive, when called - he returned calls or answered when called. He came by several times to check on the crew. He is personable but not invasive, knowledgeable and enjoyable. In spite of the cold weather, the crew removed one window at a time and replaced it quickly so as not to freeze us out of the house. The windows were almost all in the first day but they had to come back to replace external trim and install screens. We have not found any nails, wood, trim pieces, or any trash that was left, a first for us with contractors. We are very pleased and will use John again when we have the windows upstairs replaced.

Installer was on time and did not leave until job was completed. Also, cleaned up and fixed my old frames. Great customer service and I will definitely be using them in the future.
