I don't have any complaints about the quality of the work, though I'm pretty disappointed with Duane 's communication. We expected us to tell us when the work would be done, but instead we'd just come home to find people working on the house. I think (though I'm not sure) that there were different people working on each of our projects. I was also disappointed that Duane requested the final payment before the work was done (we'd already put down a deposit). The different groups of workers didn't seem to be communicating properly.

I used the David Hazen group to repair my roof that had a couple leaks. The job as done well and to my standards. I have not had any more leaks and have already recommended them to one of my neighbors.

Let me comment on each "job" individually.1. Roof cleaning & zinc strips. This went flawlessly and my roof looks 100% better. Hopefully the zinc strips will keep the moss from coming back.2. The shingle replacement went pretty well except for a color mis-match which was not their fault.3. New gutter guard. As nearly as I can tell, the new gutter guard is working very well. I have not noticed any "overflow" even during some torrential rainstorms.4. New roof on the mini-barn. Done with no problems whatsoever.5. Leveling of the mini-barn. Their initial attempt to level the barn unfortunately resulted in the barn winding up about two feet off the ground! I had not wanted a "high-rise" mini-barn. Jeff Albaugh, the project foreman, was also not happy with the outcome, so he sent his crew back to return the mini-barn to earth. All that originally needed done was for the front of the barn to be raised a few inches so that the doors would open better. After two attempts, the barn is now level AND the doors open without restrictions.All these services cost $6639. And now for the rest of the story. Prior to any work being done, my roof did NOT leak (at least I was unaware of any leaks). Unfortunately, after the roof cleaning and the broken/missing shingle replacement, a leak developed into my garage. I contacted Jeff who came out to take a look immediately. To make a long story a lot shorter, Jeff discovered that there had been an ongoing leak at that location for some time, and that the work done had actually made it worse and brought it to our attention. He pulled off the shingles and the paper and it was obvious even to my untrained eye that there had been a problem going on for some time (the decking was rotted). He suggested that the decking, paper and shingles on the entire section be replaced, and that was what was done. It looks great and there are NO LEAKS.This cost an additional $1098, BUT the $1098 will be credited to me if I get a complete roof replacement done by the David Hazen Group within the next 3 years. Good for me AND good for them.Jeff Albaugh was tireless in his work at my property. I could not have asked for anyone better to work with on this rather convoluted project. I can highly recommend the David Hazen Group in general, and Jeff Albaugh in particular.

I found them on Angie's List and have used them for the last several years.

It went great. They were extremely thorough, I didn't even realize that I had another one which was separated on the front of my home. I have had mold in my basement and crawlspace on two separate occasions and had to have the mold remediated with the standard zippered walls and hazmat suits, and I really was worried that the water seeping back in toward the house at the downspouts would cause the problem again. They were out on a Friday to give me the estimate, I accepted and the next Friday they came and fixed both of them. They were very nice and very responsive.

We have used them before in the past. They were very prompt, took care of our needs, and cleaned up well. They are very professional and polite. They return phone calls promptly and you get to talk with the owner who is the one who initially visits your home and provides an estimate. I am very glad that we found this company.

Truly pathetic. Called company 7/9 to set up an appointment for an estimate, and was told that Duane would return my call. Duane returned my call 7/10 after traveling to my house. He did not listen or look at what I communicated, and completely wasted his own time. We set up an 11:30 to 12:30 timeframe for an actual estimate on 7/17. I waited at home for him, and he did not show up. He called at 1:15 to say he was on his way from the south side to downtown, and wanted to know if I could meet him at the house. I explained I had already been waiting on him and left when he didn't show up, and asked to have someone else come and give the estimate. He replied "there is no one else". I don't think he has a clue as to what poor service that is.

Looks great, task was done quickly, and worksite was cleanned up. Very fair price. I can always count on David Hazen and Duane Ward to do a outstanding job.

It went very well. They knew what they were doing and were very professional. They did a nice job.

The estimate done by Jeff went above and beyond. He removed some leaves that were clogging the gutter where it met the garage roof. Other estimators had been there before him but didn't touch this apparently obvious issue. This attention to detail made me trust that the actual work of a repair would also be attended to with equal care. The roof repair was accomplished on the day scheduled and even though we have not had much rain to test the roof since the repair, all seems to be well.

The company was very fast in responding to my request for an estimate. There was a misunderstanding, on my part, of the discount I thought I was eligible for........that was worked out to my satisfaction. I had asked for a couple of days notice for the work to begin as I wanted to kennel my dog......but I was called late in the afternoon on 6/18 for the work to begin the following morning. Decided I would just block off the dog in the kitchen, which was a mistake.........I had quite a mess to clean up when I returned home from work.....my dog obviously hadn't reacted well to the pounding and drilling that went on for about five hours.I was pleased with their work however........the price was a bit higher than I wanted but the materials used were high quality and all staff I encountered were very professional.My only concern/complaint would be that when I arrived home.......I found some very sharp pieces of cut gutters on the back patio. I'm glad I checked before anyone stepped on them as they would have inflicted a nasty wound. Other areas were all cleaned up. I would definitely refer friends to this company.

They are very good, very timely. I've only had one problem with a bill.

We had a drippy leak from our sun porch and they contributed it to a loose shingle. They repaired that and some damage underneath, it was minor.

I used this company for a brand new roof and a window replacement job a couple months ago and they did such a great job I hired them to redesign and replace all of the guttering on the front and back of my home. They came and worked hard to accomplish completion of the job in only day and the new gutters and design look wonderful. The new design and good workmanship will also allow them to work properly now, which I will be forever grateful. I mean, what good are gutters if the water sits in them anyway?! I continue to be pleased with this company's attention to detail and professionalism. In fact, they are on my list to hire again in the Fall for window caulking, priming and finishing along with some wood trim replacement. Looking forward to having them back to make my home look even nicer! Truly A+ work and the guys are pretty nice, too. THANKS!

Estimator called the same day and said he was on his way to my house. 20 minutes later he called and asked for directions (his Garmin GPS had him lost) and I gave them but he never showed. Called him back an hour later and he said he went back to the office instead and would come the following day. He never showed up on the next day. Received a phone call on 06/07/12 at 9pm asking me to return the phone call to setup a time for an estimator to come out on Monday 06/11/12.

Everything always goes well with David. He's honest and does good work. They're nice people to work with.

I have used David Hazen for a number of different projects in the past, and never had any problems with him or his business. However, when they came out this time to clean my gutters, the crew did a terrible job. I noticed that they were only here for about 15 minutes before they left. The gutters still looked full of debris, so I had to have them come back out. It was very apparent that they were not happy to come back out to resolve the issue. Dwayne was the man in charge of this operation at this point. He met me at one of the rentals and was notified that the gutters were still so full of debris that they were almost falling off the house. The gutters are now tearing off because of the rain, and I tried to explain this. I explained that there was no way that the gutters should have been this full if they just cleaned them. Dwayne then acted very unreasonably, and proceeded to start yelling at me, rather than handle the situation professionally. He was so loud that my father had to come out and tell him not to talk to me this way. I felt very upset, and even threatened by this. I then requested to know if David Hazen was still the owner, and Dwayne then refused to give me any further information. He eventually tried to tell me that he is now the owner, and not to ever call him again.

We had such a a hard time getting an estimate from this company that we couldn't risk giving them the job. I used the online form to request a quote. I got an email response right away then a voice mail saying that someone would call to schedule the estimate. No one ever called me. A week later at dinner time two men appeared in the yard saying they were there to do an estimate. I walked them all around, explained the job, accepted a verbal estimate, and asked for it in writing. I gave my email address again and they said I'd be contacted in the next couple of days. I never heard from them again. Now, if a company can't handle the estimate process, they are not professional enough to do work at my house.

I interviewed several roofing company's and it didn't take long to realize that the David Hazen Group stands out from the rest. They were down to earth and willing to work with me on any and all issues and repairs necessary. This company was also willing to work directly with my insurance company on those items that would be covered. They were more than fair when it came to overall pricing of the project and their communication with their customers is TOP NOTCH. It took me awhile to find them, but it was well worth the wait and I'm extremely satisfied with the entire project. The roof looks great!! One more thing - they DO NOT cut corners and are very detail oriented, which is what I was looking for in a company. I promise, you will be satisfied, too!!

David Hazen Group (Jeff and Duane) both looked at the scope of the work and dedicated themselves to replacing the roof ASAP, weather permitting. I have a very tight yard so logistics were tricky. The house next door is only 4 feet away as I live in an urban neighborhood. Jeff was on site when the job started and on the roof much of the time. He was very sensitive to my insistence to keep roofing material out of the neighbor's yard. With rain threatening the job had to be started and completed in one day. Although thehouse is small, I doubted that it could be achieved that quickly. Two crews of workers were enlisted to complete the job within 12 hours. I upgraded the existing roof vents to a ridge vent, had one chimney removed to the roof line, and more insulation blown into the attic space. I am very pleased and will continue to use David Hazen Group and will highly recommend this company to my friends and neighbors.

The service was great. Despite holding onto the quote which they generated for us for almost 2 months, they were very accommodating. I contacted Duane on March 14, 2012 to see if they could still do the job. He said that he would look up the quote to refresh his memory. He called me the next morning (March 15, 2012) and said that he had a crew in the area who could do the job that day. I was very surprised and excited that they could complete the job so quickly with such short notice. I was not home at the time of the installation, but when I got home I was pleasantly surprised to find the job completed. Their workmanship was impeccable, and if it weren't for the new gutters being on the garage, I would have never known they were there. That's how great they were with job clean up. I would highly recommend them to others, and I plan to use them in the future if I have some work they can do.

They did an excellent job. The price was fair and the quality was good. I would use him again in the future.

Duane and a crew of 2 other men came out and were very thorough about diagnosing the problem of our leaks. Even going up into our attic to be extra thorough in their inspection. A written estimate was given on the spot. We had 3 roofers to give estimates. One of which cancelled on us twice and the other was highly rated on Angie's list but, when my husband asked him about the Angie's list discount he said it was already built into our price? Hazen honored the Angie's list discount no questions asked. We called and faxed in our contract the next day and they came out the next day and fixed our roof. Two guys were here from 9:30-3:30. The roofer was very knowledgable and told me all the flaws up on the roof with our flashing from when the house was built and told me how he corrected everything. Basically redoing a 2-3 ft radius around the chimney. It was a beautiful feb. day 65 degrees! It has rained hard once since then. So far, no leaks!! We have been pleased so far and would not hesitate recommending this company to our friends.

I noticed that a shingle on my roof was loose and hanging. I called and left a message. They immediately called back and sent someone out to fix it within the hour. The man who did the repair was very kind and knowledgable and showed me other things to look out for. I couldn't have asked for better or more prompt service. Definitely will use them for any roofing needs I have in the future.
