We were connected up with Advanced Home Solutions / Gil Ward via our real estate agent. When we bought the home the radon level was roughly at over 8 pCi/l, which is a fairly high level. Gil and his daughter install the systems, he's said he has put in something like 13,000 of these in 20 something years. His knowledge of both the systems, where they should go, and how to mitigate the issues, are excellent. He has a great bit of knowledge on local geology as well and how the radon forms and gets into the home. They were punctual, professional and easy to work with. Our initial install took a few hours and after that install, we tested per protocol and the test came back still rather high, at 7.9 pCi/l. I called Gil to discuss the results, he came out that same evening, we discussed options and decided on a new plan. Gil and his daughter came out a day or two later (whatever it was we agreed on), and added more segments to the system to fix the issue. All while our basement was being framed out, which added difficulty to the install. All of this extra work was done at zero additional cost. After the new items were completed, the next test came in at 0.8 pCi/l. I would absolutely use them again and recommend them. Great work, pleasant transaction and we're pleased with the results.

He did a great job and completely checked everything. I was quite impressed. He is very honest, punctual, and just a really good guy.

It went excellent, the owner is Gill Ward. He was just super, incredibly nice, very efficient, and explained the details of what any replacement cost would be if and when the device fails.

Mr. Ward arrived punctually on November 26. The hole through the concrete basement floor was carefully drilled. With professional equipment to pick it up, gravel was excavated from beneath the floor to create adequate airspace to allow maximum suction. PVC tubing was installed. Hole through exterior brick wall to outside of home drilled perfectly. Because everything worked so well, a smaller exhaust fan that used less electricity easily handled the job. Mr. Ward was very understanding, listened to all my concerns. He assured me that if this system for some reason did not bring the readings down he would run a back up system at small additional charge. However it wasn't needed. Independent tests I ran later showed his system solved our home's radon problem. Work includes 5 year warranty. Installation, partially concealed by overhead ceiling joists, is clean looking and very professional. Outside looks good also. Work done at very reasonable cost. Pleasant and enjoyable experience. I fully recommend Mr. Ward to anyone needing radon mitigation work on their home.

Gil spent a lot of time working on my radon problem making six different trips. I had to deal with the University of Iowa who trained Gil and helped with the issues.

I discovered through using a Kiddie test kit from Lowe's that my radon levels were way high so I called Advanced Home Solutions for help. Gil Ward responded and did an inspection of the home. He told me that he would cut a hole in the basement floor and install a suction pipe to take the radon gas from under the floor slab. He would install piping and a new vapor barrier into the larger of my two crawl spaces (I have one on each side of the partial basement) where a gathering system would pull radon gas from under the plastic vapor barrier. Those two suction pipes would be combined and routed to the attic where a continuous running fan would exhaust the radon gas through a roof penetration that would be installed. He also proposed a new positive sealing sump pit cover. He guaranteed that the radon level would be below 3.9 pCi/L upon completion. I accepted the proposal and the work was scheduled. On the day of the installation, Gil and an assistant arrived to do the work. The installation went very well and was done quickly and efficiently. They were able to install the system without having the pipes visible in the upstairs and located out of the way in the basement. They cleaned up the area when complete. The first testing revealed that radon levels were still higher than acceptable so Gil returned and installed a second suction line and gathering system in the smaller crawl space. That action combined with plugging several small holes in the basement floor and block from a previous termite treatment brought the levels down to under 2 pCi/L. The additional work and testing were completed at no additional cost. I wish I would have had this done years ago, but I never took the time to measure the levels. I recommend Advanced Home Solutions if you have any kind of radon issue. Gil has many years of experience, knew how to address the problem, performed the work in a professional manner at a guaranteed price. They also provide a 5 year warranty that covers the radon level plus labor to remove and reinstall the exhaust fan if it needs repairs. (fan warranted by the manufacturer). A very good experience overall.

Gil did a great job! Explained everything from start to finish and the fan is working great. Our radon level is now far below even the safe level. He and his employee were very professional and friendly. They were fast and we are very glad to have this done.

We had an accepted offer on our house. During the inspection our radon level came back too high although we had a radon reduction system already in place. We contacted two radon mitigation companies. Advanced Solutions was the second company that came out. Gil was a VERY good teacher. He explained and showed (for those of us who are visual learners) why he thought our present radon reduction system wasn't working as well as it should. He believed that waterproofing that we had installed a couple of years prior was negating our current system. He offered inexpensive solutions to try and said to test again. If his suggestions didn't work, we would then need to add another radon reduction system. After we tried his suggestions, tested again, and still did not have satisfactory results, Gil came out and installed another reduction system. He was confident that our levels would come down to below acceptable levels, and they did. You can tell he has been doing this for a long time. His experience showed. He knew that we had a time frame to get this situation resolved, and he was quick to respond.

They were recommended by family who had it done. We contacted them and they came out to give us a quote and inspect the basement for the best area. They also accomodated our schedule over the holidays to get it done while we were home. It has worked well and our levels dropped significantly, down to below acceptable. I would recommend their services.

They quickly responded so we could have it done before we sold our home. However, they do not do a retest, but provided us with a kit.

Everything went smoothly with no concerns. I was a little nervous about where exactly the unit was going to be placed outside the home but they came through. They were extremely knowledgeable and easy to work with. It was a father and son who installed our system in about 4 hours. Our lower level is 1400 sq. ft. and they only had to install one system. Some places will install two systems for larger spaces.

GIL CAME OUT TO DO THE WORK HIMSELF, AND IS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE. WHEN THE RADON WAS STILL ABOVE THE RECOMMENDED LEVEL, HE CAME BACK OUT TO DO MORE WORK, AND DID NOT CHARGE EXTRA. IS COMMITTED TO DOING WHATEVER IT TAKES TO GET THE LEVEL WHERE IT NEEDS TO BE.

VERY STRAIGHTFORWARD AND QUICK HANDLING OF PROBLEM. THEY DON'T GIVE A LOT OF INFORMATION UNLESS YOU ASK FOR IT.

THEY DID GREAT WORK AND HAD A VERY PROFESSIONAL CREW AT THE HOUSE. PLACED THE SYSTEM IN A VERY NICE LOCATION THAT IS OUT OF THE WAY.

TOOK THE RADON IN MY BASEMENT DOWN FROM 10.3 PCI/L TO LESS THAN 1.0 PCI/L. FAN DOES GET A LITTLE LOUD SOMETIMES, BUT THE NEARBY AC UNIT DROWNS IT OUT.

AS A RESULT OUR TESTED RADON LEVEL IS SIGNIFICANTLY LESS.

VERY NICE, CLEAN, EXPLAINED SYSTEM.
