I purchased a Groupon and was excited to finally have someone else clean my home. After two phone calls and two emails attempting to schedule, it has been a week and I've yet to hear from a live person. Fortunately Groupon has offered me a trade-in so I can actually hire a business that will communicate. Do not waste your time or money on this poor excuse of a business.

Like many others, we purchased a Groupon for this company, which culminated in us having to get a full refund for work not done. First, getting an appointment was needlessly difficult; no one picks up the phone, and their message directs Groupon users to use only email correspondence. Unfortunately, it can take days for them to respond to emails. After finally getting an appointment, we waited at home for the team to arrive, only to get an email saying that they had to cancel, and would reschedule. Again, days later, we were told that their next available date would be a full month later. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the timeline, asked for a closer date, and finally rescheduled for a day a week later. The team arrived almost late, but came in with armloads of cleaning supplies, so everything seemed fine. Then, a few minutes later, one of the ladies told me that the owner had told them to pack up and leave. The reason given was that she didn't want to use their brooms on our floor, and the owner's words (sent in a text, as she refused to speak to me on the phone) were "unsanitary conditions." I had left newly-purchased brooms out for the team to use, but they declined to use those, too. To be clear, our house needed cleaning. We have two cats (no restriction on pets was specified anywhere in the fine print), a new baby who's teething, full time jobs, and wood floors throughout the house, so dust pretty much sits on top and collects in corners very quickly, often in the course of a couple of days, and we really don't have time to much more than light sweeping and spot cleaning – which is why we hired a professional cleaning team. However, despite the amount of debris in the less-used areas of the house, there was nothing on the floor that a standard household vacuum cleaner or broom wouldn't pick up in 15 minutes, which is exactly what I did when the cleaners left, using one of the aforementioned brooms and a dustpan. Furthermore, even if the team didn't want to spend the necessary 15 person-minutes to clean the floors, there was plenty of furniture dusting, counter wiping, and tub cleaning to do. I'll note that the company's own messaging specified their willingness to do "deep cleans," "scrub caked food," and "clean all floors," using "their own arsenal of cleaning equipment." If they claim that they're ready to use their own equipment on bacteria-laden old food, I'm not sure what their problem is with using a broom on everyday dust bunnies. Worst of all is the company's complete unwillingness to even try to work with us. We were home. We could have used our own equipment to clean the hard parts (again, it only took me 15 minutes, which they could have spent on counters and tubs) so that they could have an easier time doing their job. We could have paid for an extra fee, if they'd stopped to discuss it. The team, on their speedy way out the door, said that Mary, their boss, wanted me to call her; I did so immediately, but she refused to pick up, instead sending a perfunctory text message and then going completely silent. Her excuse, by the way, was that they didn't want to dirty their equipment and take it their next job. I have to ask, if the cleaners can't use their equipment if it'll get dirty, what exactly are they intending to clean?

Unfortunately some customers are just able to be pleased. We had an owner at the member's home last time and oversaw her cleaning ; to assure everything was done well..The member confirmed she was pleased at the end of her last service to our owner.

We received a total house cleaning from their very friendly staff. They were quick and efficient. The house looked great and smelled wonderful afterward.
Description of Work: We have a 2 story house (3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms) and received a whole house cleaning (approximately 1 hour). All our floors were cleaned. Everything was dusted. Countertops and cabinets were wiped down. Windows were cleaned.

I have used many cleaning services in the past and this was by far the best. My family owns a cleaning company in Illinois so I know what to look for and am extremely picky. They arrived on time and were in and out in an hour and the house was immaculate! I couldn't find anything they missed. I also needed to change the date that they were coming last minute and they were very accommodating. I initially purchased a Groupon and after the first visit I called back to set up a monthly cleaning. If you are thinking of trying a cleaning service I would highly recommend them. They are fantastic!

We hired A TOUCH ABOVE CLEANING four weeks ago. They did the initial 1st deep clean for $175.00; however grime on the interior doors was overlooked, workmanship was ok. We left a note on their item check list for the cleaning crew the next week. The doors were overlooked again. We called and spoke with the owner, Mary, about the doors, her response was: "she would check with the crew and catch it the next time". We thought this odd since we had paid. Our third cleaning was due in two weeks, Thursday Aug 18th. We received a call on Thursday regarding a conflict in the schedule, the crew couldn't make it and they would be out on Friday Aug 19th. Today. Well the doors still were not cleaned, the floors were hit or miss and over all the workmanship was less than average. Don't hire this company you will waste your time and money.

I was happy after the first cleaning. I scheduled the second cleaning for a Monday afternoon. I was planning on being out of town all week, but I was confident that the crew would lock up after they left. I set my thermostat for 79 before leaving for the week. I returned the following Sunday to a freezing apartment. The AC was blasting and the thermostat was down to 60 degrees. Also, the vent above my stove had been left on. The cleaning crew were absolutely the only people in my apartment that week. I called the company owner and kindly explained the situation, expecting an apology and hoping for a goodwill gesture. Instead, I received a voicemail from the owner stating that I was mistaken and that her cleaners denied that they changed my thermostat. I was incredibly disappointed by what I considered to be an unprofessional handling of the situation by the owner. Additionally, the cleaning job on that second visit was subpar. I would not use this company again. I would not recommend this company.

It is a company policy that none of our team members ever touch thermostats in a homeowner's home. We are aware that many people have their thermostats at certain temperatures due to medical conditions. We absolutely never touch any temperature controls; and work in many homes with no Central Air Systems.

I really like that if you have a cleaning item that you always want done. They will remember it every time. They are very friendly and I have never had an issue with items missing etc. One time they found a $20 bill under the dresser that I didn't know I had. I recommended them to my neighbors.
Description of Work: A Touch Above Cleaning LLC has cleaned my house every two weeks for a year now. I have been extremely happy with them. They dust and vacuum the whole house. They clean 2 full bathrooms and 1 half bath. I have been extremely happy on the kitchen cleaning and mopping the kitchen floor.

It went extremely well, as usual. The team arrived promptly, received their directions, and went to work immediately. I have always been happy with the workmanship that is performed. Mary's teams are very responsive, and will do anything that I ask them to clean. I realize that this service is one that I pay by the hour for, thus I I know what they are able to accomplish within that time frame. They always complete the job to my satisfaction and with a smile.

They were punctual but their work was very bad. We have used many cleaners in the past but this was the worst. They never made the bed nor picked up anything on the floor. They vacuumed around the toys. They were looking at the time and all they cared about was how to finish the work in 1 hr. I would never use them in future.
Description of Work: We bought a coupon through Groupon for them. It seemed to be a good deal but I hated working with them. They would not give the phone number to call and we could communicate only through email. After 15 back and forth email we finally scheduled them to come on Apr 20.

On the printed groupon ; it states that all groupons are scheduled via email ; we have sold over 2000 groupons in the past year and for the ease of scheduling for our customers this is all done via email. Most of our customers are scheduled on the first email. We would like to state that we send a list of services to each customer prior to arrival about the services we provide. We do not pick up toys and de-clutter ; as we would not be able to get any cleaning done if we were organizing and de-cluttering the entire time. Also, we do not make bed linens ; this is not a standard part of our service as our services list will show. We ask each customer to make a list of priorities for us when we arrive ; that way we know what their wants are and can work efficiently on the services we provide. This was a timed clean ; so yes the crew does watch the time as we have a fully booked schedule and many other customers to take care of. Thank you !

Really not pleased with the quality of cleaning that was done!!! Bathroom and office trash emptied into kitchen trash and left there filled to the top (and for some reason there was still some trash in one of the bathrooms)...1 bathroom cleaned appropriately, the other not...very disappointed and will not re-hire.

We were never contacted about this complaint ; and in response this is a timed cleaned. This was a $55 groupon cleaning valued at $150 in response to " Paid too Much". We provided 4 cleaning hours for $55 ; which is an outstanding rate. In addition this is a timed clean and that is why only certain areas were cleaned. We can only clean in the time frame that was purchased. We do not remove trash ; b/c of the confidentiality of the items in the trash. We gather all trash from areas that are cleaned and consolidate them. Again we were not contacted regarding this complaint and given a proper chance to respond. This was a $55 cleaning provided and the customer received the full amount of cleaning that was purchased. We have serviced over 200 groupon customers in the past several weeks and had numerous compliments.

I found a coupon with this company through the website Groupon. The coupon was for %65 off a house cleaning. Before I purchased the groupon ticket I called the company to make sure everything was ok (distance, cost, etc.). I received verbal confirmation from Mary that my house was in the appropriate distance for service so I purchased 2 groupon coupons and then I proceeded to make an appointment. In response I was then told my house was 2.2 miles outside of their service area and that an additional $20 would apply per visit. I was told in an email from Amber that they don't go by distance from their office but by distance from a general zip code, which seems pretty convenient. I canceled my order. The bigger picture here is this company lost $110 over this and a future client (thousands of dollars) over 2.2 miles. I am at a loss that people do not understand customer service in this day and age and that this company doesn't believe in their business enough to make an exception in a first time client. As an aside after reading the previous report on angies list about the alleged theft I am happy this did not work out anyway.

In response to this complaint I would like to state. The groupon promotion clearly stated " homes within 30-45 miles from zip code 46060 " will be charge a $20 trip charge. We can make no exceptions to this policy ; as this is not fair to all customers. This is clearly published. When this customer contacted Mary she told Mary she was within 29 miles of the zip code which in fact is not the case. Mary had no idea that the customer was not accurately portraying the mileage.

A Touch Above Cleaning Company sent a crew of four women to clean my home. I had a pair of earrings and $60 in cash in my jewelry box before the cleaning crew worked in my house on December 8, 2010. While the crew was working, I left the house. I asked them to lock the door when the were done working. When I returned, the door was locked, so no one else entered the house after the employees left. A homemade bracelet was drying next to my jewelry box in my room. That evening I saw that the bracelet had been disheveled. I looked in the jewelry box, and discovered these items were missing. We had no one in our house besides the cleaning crew. The only explanation is that one of the employees stole these items. On Wednesday we agreed that I would give Mary Wilson (Owner) until today, Friday, December 10, 2010 to return my peridot earrings ($100) and cash ($60) before filing a police report and submitting reports to consumer advocacy organizations about my experience with the company. Mary Wilson has stated that she will not return these items or compensate me for these stolen items.
Description of Work: Not only did a theft occur while the cleaning crew was in my home, but they did a terrible job cleaning my house and did not do the general cleaning that was part of discussion I had with the team leader, Katie. This involved vacuumming, dusting, mopping all rooms, and general cleaning of the kitchen and bathroom. It was a bad job overall and very unsatisfactory.
